I’m not giving feedback on the service as this booking was not for me but I just wanted to flag that the restaurant did not have this booking!
Lovely place, lovely service and very nice decor. Went there for brunch and had Eggs Royale which was delicious - the egg yolk super runny! Highly recommend.
Good quick service, attentive staff. Lovely ambience. Mains were good but would have preferred more options from the dessert menu.
we went for a celebratory lunch and we were not disappointed.
good service and very good food. staff were attentive but not intrusive.
Will be back again soon
Great restaurant we had a great time celebrating, food was lovely, drinks were flowing and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful!
The food was lovely but service disappointing and the restaurant very cold
Great space with tables set a good distance apart. SErvice was smooth (though they forgot to bring our olives they recognized it and removed from the bill with an apology). They accommodated a request to have a small change to a dish so overall very pleased. We went on a Saturday night and it was worryingly quite quiet but I imagine that it is maybe busier week nights.
Spacious, comfortable, friendly a great place to celebrate. We had a great time and were well looked after.
Great food, service could have been quicker, one of our guests was limited for time.
Very large restaurant with insufficient, over pressurised staff unable to cope. Not the greatest experience
A bit too busy and noisy for my taste in the evening when you are there to have dinner with two other people and don't want to shout at them. Nice and big, but better for big parties than small dinners in the evening.
Long wait for average food. Drinks order mixed up.
Used to be great, we arrived for a mothers day meal and none of the roasts where available, many of the items we ordered just didnt turn up and we were told theyd run out. Starters arrived after the main and there was a fly in one of the cocktails
We had a very attentive waitress but I think there was maybe a shift change during our lunch because we then actually needed to prompt for service.
Food and surroundings were excellent but the restaurant needs to be aware of service levels, not a massive issue but customers expectations are very high.
Service is somewhere in between relaxed, slow and indifferent. Food is fine but nothing stands out. Good choice for that area but would not go out of my way.
It was noisy and we had to wait a fair while to order. The burger was raw, and I mean steak tartar raw, but we did not want to wait for another. In fairness we were offered a desert but as none of us wanted one I do think the least they could do was offer to buy a drink. We were over charged for expensive gin and tonic and 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill. All in all I don't think I would go back. If I want to pay £15 for a gin & tonic I would rather go to the Soho Hotel, at least you could hear each other there.
Although the food was very good and the lamb in particular was excellent, the service was very poor and very slow. We had to get someone's attention for every course or if wanted more drinks or wine topping up (they hadn't left the bottle with us). We also didn't get told the specials until we spotted someone with a dish not on the menu and asked. A 1 hr business lunch took 2 and a half hours to have 2 courses and a coffee. Fine if you're having a long lunch with friends, no good for business lunch.
a great place for dinner but a bit empty on a Monday night
Really nicely designed and very chilled vibe. Perfect for a lunch catching up with friends - not too loud either. Friendly staff, and good food!
Food was ok but we waited more than 40 mins to get the mains. They apologised at last.
Also a long wait time for dessert.
I find this place lacking personality (my very opinion). Also some of the staff seemed tired and unexcited to work there.
Won't go back.
The atmosphere was great and the staff were very accommodating considering we were such a large group. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. They even came back to check that everything was ok with the food and we didn’t want anything else.
Overall very good Monday evening for a Group of 8. Initial service was a little slow but once we had ordered the evening moved along very well. Food was excellent.
Fantastic service. Well looked after by everyone we encountered and food was amazing as a bonus. Super professional, friendly and they even noticed it was my mums birthday and made a fuss.
No real ambiance. Food ok. Service average. Wouldn’t go again.
Good food and good service apart from the waiter brought the wrong wine
The food at Percy and Founders was very tasty and I would have given an overall 4 stars if we hadn’t been squashed as party of 3 onto a table for 2 in the bar area whilst other tables for 4 sat empty.
I always love having breakfast at Percy and founders which is a place where you can relax, enjoy wonderful food and get very very good service at that time of the day. I don’t know what it’s like at other times because it really is a breakfast venue for me, but I would recommend it as a place to meet people, and start your day in a great way.
The Oysters were lovey - but a little shell was present in each one which takes away from the experience. Trout was okay - nothing special and I wouldn't order it again. Squid delicious. My main was Halibut - that was good. Portion size a little small. Venison Wellington also good - but again, my partner complained it was too small and barely hit a side. Fries and carrots were good. Service was overall good however probably a little too good as the lemon wedge I had saved for my fish main was taken away! The front of house people were super - they knew we had a theatre to get to and so were on time with getting our food out. Our waiter was super too.
Annoyed because they have some set menus on their website which the staff didn’t know about and you actually can’t dine from which is ridiculous. That’s one of the reasons why I chose the venue.
Beautifully furnished, but the food was expensive for what it was. Then again, it was Valentine's Day! Our server seemed very determined not to smile and did not make us feel very welcome!
We have eaten here on a number of occasions, always found it to be an enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere, good food in lovely surroundings what more can you ask!
Fantastic space, great service and delicious food. Will defenitely be back!
Lovely food and ok service
As a frequent visitor to Percy & Founders for brunch & lunch, we thought we would give their Sunday roast a go, even though it is so much more expensive than anywhere else.
What a bad move! It is hands down the worst roast any of us have ever had.
I was originally served 2 hunks of PURE fat, that were supposed to resemble a £22 lamb roast.
When I pointed this out, I was asked “what am I supposed to do about it?” By the waitress. Sigh.
My plate was removed and brought back 10 minutes later, with the same vegetables, that were now inedible (potatoes as hard as baseballs, black withered carrots/parsnips, soggy cabbage) and a small piece of fatty lamb but at least there was some meat this time around.
At this point we were all over it and just completely disappointed with our meals. £117 later (including a “free” coffee for our trouble) for 3 of us to have a horrible lunch was the kicker! We went home and cooked dinner... never again!
We were really looked after at Percy and Founders, gave us the perfect table and made sure we had everything we needed. The Full English was gorgeous but at around 14/15 pounds, that's what I would expect. Ambience was great although one table looked like they were going to start getting a bit rowdy after a couple of bottomless proseccos. Overall the perfect weekend spot though - and great for business meetings.
First time to Percy and Founders to celebrate friends birthday and catch up with friends. Upon arriving, some friends arrived early so could not be seated at the table till rest of the friends showed up. We had a reservation for 7 people. Good thing the pub was not busy so they had space to sit and have a drink while waiting. However the service from the barman was appalling. There experience we had- you would think that one of us was his ex girlfriend! Cause the attitude he gave us you definitely would think that he knew one of us from somewhere. The barman/waiter was absolutely miserable that we felt bad for him that he had to work and was in such a filthy mood. Enough about the unfriendly bar man. On to the food... we had ordered different meal items and the best word to describe all our meals was diabolical. I am sure that my 5 year nephew could have made a better meals. None of us enjoyed our meals- but had no choice but to finish due to guilt of wasting food. We literally force feed ourselves!!! We had to wait for what seemed like forever for the food to be serve. The pub was not busy as we could literally count the tables that were being serviced. When the food arrived- it was dry, overcooked and flavourless. The Yorkshire pudding were so dry you would have thought it was a bun; chicken was so dry that when you chewed felt like you were chewing rubber. The kale was not steamed properly- seemed that it was put on the plate and heating lamps precooked it. Absolutely no taste/flavour/seasoning on the Fish Goujons and mushy peas. The hamburger bun was supper dry as was the chicken. To sum up the meal experience, it felt as if we been served 5 day old food.
The ambience of the venue was amazing definitely a spot to come to for drinks with friends etc. The music was low and atmosphere provided for social gatherings. I recommend this place for drinks and social hangout.
Excellent atmosphere, great food and an incredible wine list at reasonable prices
We visited on Saturday night, service was excellent someone always on hand to see if everything is ok. Would highly recommend this restaurant
Cool place, beautiful art, delicious food, good service. A bit like Ham Yard in style but better value.
100% recommend. Went for dinner with someone and food was amazing, and the wine was perfect. Very friendly staff and the ambience was great.
