Quite noisy, and as ever, felt a little under-staffed (perhaps because they currently offer a discount on food Monday-Wednesday and they may not anticipated such a high level of take-up on a Wednesday evening).
Polite and helpful waiting staff who dealt with an IT failure with good humour.
Great dishes, thoroughly reccommend the bread nibble. A little noisy and slow with the bill being bought over otherwise a genuinely great spot!
Great place for breakfast
I have been here a few times. On this occasion I wondered how it went so wrong. The waitress was probably the worst I have ever come across. She was dismissive on numerous occasions. Her service was on her agenda. It didnt matter if we were deep in discussion, she failed to read the room and would approach us at the most inconvenient times. When we needed her - she was no where to be seen. When I wished to order, on being seated, it took me 20 minutes to get her attention. On taking my drink order, as i was reading the menu to order some nibbles, i looked up to find she had already walked off. RUDE! not to mention bad service. I then spent 5 minutes waving down another server. At one point, the horrid music was way too loud and i asked if it could be turned down a notch. Her response was shocking to say the least. I received an education on why the music was loud. It is loud so it can be heard over the guests. The more guests/customers, the louder the music. To that I responded, but this is a restaurant! its not a club. We are here to socialise and talk and one cannot talk if one is needing to shout over music. She did nothing and did not care to listen. Her entire mannerism is WRONG. Wrong industry - people like her have no place in the service industry. Now, our food was hit and miss. Wagu burger DRY and certainly NOT medium. It was so brown that one would wonder if it were ever pink. The sauces and burger toppings were good - but the meat was as dry as cardboard. The fish main - turbot - was nice - although it must have been cooked in so much oil. Quite greasy. The desert - nice Sticky Toffee pudding. Would i recommend this place? nope. Absolutely not. Food was okay, but the service was the worst ever.
It was a lovely afternoon and being able to sit outside made all the difference. Food was lovely and the staff were accommodating and helpful especially with the baby. Their facilities were some of the best I’ve seen for baby changing.
Table of 5 at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. Bottomless prosecco for 2hrs at £18 per person and the waitress was really good at keeping us topped up. Really fantastic food in a truly tasteful setting. Can’t wait to return!
Percy and Founders is nice! Lovely table on looking the Fitzrovia chapel. Nice atmosphere. Fond of the place! Sometimes better deals on certain days. Enjoy their Sunday Lunch when special offers on. Recently had lunch there. Salmon salad was nice but didn’t like the fennel much! Nice because on some occasions have been able to bring my dog and eat in bar area!
Went for a family members birthday. He was absolutely satisfied saying his burger was the best he has ever had.
Service was incredibly slow on a quiet Tuesday lunch and food not good enough
Delicious but very pricey
Great as always but much louder than it usuallly is
Whilst the food was very good overall, the rib eye steaks were not of the same standard.
I am sure some substandard meat slipped by your very good quality process?
Love PERCY & FOUNDERS.... try to get to it any time we're in London .... how did I find out about it????
By Watching Masterchef!!!!! .... am so glad I looked it up .... great food, great ambience, super location.....
I’m not giving feedback on the service as this booking was not for me but I just wanted to flag that the restaurant did not have this booking!
The restaurant offers the height of mediocrity. The interior is okay the rest is forgettable.
Lovely place, lovely service and very nice decor. Went there for brunch and had Eggs Royale which was delicious - the egg yolk super runny! Highly recommend.
Good quick service, attentive staff. Lovely ambience. Mains were good but would have preferred more options from the dessert menu.
we went for a celebratory lunch and we were not disappointed.
good service and very good food. staff were attentive but not intrusive.
Will be back again soon
Great restaurant we had a great time celebrating, food was lovely, drinks were flowing and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful!
The food was lovely but service disappointing and the restaurant very cold
Great space with tables set a good distance apart. SErvice was smooth (though they forgot to bring our olives they recognized it and removed from the bill with an apology). They accommodated a request to have a small change to a dish so overall very pleased. We went on a Saturday night and it was worryingly quite quiet but I imagine that it is maybe busier week nights.
Spacious, comfortable, friendly a great place to celebrate. We had a great time and were well looked after.
Great food, service could have been quicker, one of our guests was limited for time.
Very large restaurant with insufficient, over pressurised staff unable to cope. Not the greatest experience
A bit too busy and noisy for my taste in the evening when you are there to have dinner with two other people and don't want to shout at them. Nice and big, but better for big parties than small dinners in the evening.
Long wait for average food. Drinks order mixed up.
Used to be great, we arrived for a mothers day meal and none of the roasts where available, many of the items we ordered just didnt turn up and we were told theyd run out. Starters arrived after the main and there was a fly in one of the cocktails
We had a very attentive waitress but I think there was maybe a shift change during our lunch because we then actually needed to prompt for service.
Food and surroundings were excellent but the restaurant needs to be aware of service levels, not a massive issue but customers expectations are very high.
Service is somewhere in between relaxed, slow and indifferent. Food is fine but nothing stands out. Good choice for that area but would not go out of my way.
It was noisy and we had to wait a fair while to order. The burger was raw, and I mean steak tartar raw, but we did not want to wait for another. In fairness we were offered a desert but as none of us wanted one I do think the least they could do was offer to buy a drink. We were over charged for expensive gin and tonic and 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill. All in all I don't think I would go back. If I want to pay £15 for a gin & tonic I would rather go to the Soho Hotel, at least you could hear each other there.
Although the food was very good and the lamb in particular was excellent, the service was very poor and very slow. We had to get someone's attention for every course or if wanted more drinks or wine topping up (they hadn't left the bottle with us). We also didn't get told the specials until we spotted someone with a dish not on the menu and asked. A 1 hr business lunch took 2 and a half hours to have 2 courses and a coffee. Fine if you're having a long lunch with friends, no good for business lunch.
a great place for dinner but a bit empty on a Monday night
Really nicely designed and very chilled vibe. Perfect for a lunch catching up with friends - not too loud either. Friendly staff, and good food!
Food was ok but we waited more than 40 mins to get the mains. They apologised at last.
Also a long wait time for dessert.
I find this place lacking personality (my very opinion). Also some of the staff seemed tired and unexcited to work there.
Won't go back.
The atmosphere was great and the staff were very accommodating considering we were such a large group. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. They even came back to check that everything was ok with the food and we didn’t want anything else.
Overall very good Monday evening for a Group of 8. Initial service was a little slow but once we had ordered the evening moved along very well. Food was excellent.
Fantastic service. Well looked after by everyone we encountered and food was amazing as a bonus. Super professional, friendly and they even noticed it was my mums birthday and made a fuss.
No real ambiance. Food ok. Service average. Wouldn’t go again.
Good food and good service apart from the waiter brought the wrong wine
The food at Percy and Founders was very tasty and I would have given an overall 4 stars if we hadn’t been squashed as party of 3 onto a table for 2 in the bar area whilst other tables for 4 sat empty.
