Wonderful authentic food. Ambience was fantastic. Such friendly staff. Wine excellent, nothing too fancy just good French wine, loved the fact it was served in tumblers, no fancy wine glasses here.

Petit Paris, Edinburgh - We always visit this restaurant when in Edinburgh, and it never disappoints. Once again the staff and service were wonderful. The atmosphere transports you to France, from the Grassmarket! The escargot starter was lovely and the bouillabaisse was excellent, though the portion defeated us! Will return on our next visit to Edinburgh.

Petit Paris, Edinburgh
A long wait (55 minutes) for our meal, we had only a main course but it was excellent. The waitress, from Nimes, was also excellent.
It is a pity to drink wine from tumblers (they should at least offer wine glasses) and I don't recall them doing that in Paris but maybe its part of the atmosphere?

Went to Petit Paris a year ago & really enjoyed it but was a little disappointed this time. The fish soup starter was really just a crab bisque. lucky for me I like crab, but it wasn't what was expected. Venison casserole was very tasty but the venison a little tough. My partners boudin noire starter was very nice, but the fish casserole main was watery & very salty. service was friendly during the meal, but we were being chased out of the door at 10.20 on a Friday night as they wanted to close.

My partner and I visited Petit Paris in Edinburgh on Wednesday night. The staff were very friendly and charming and the food was lovely. It's a great little restaurant that's always busy and it's in a great location for those visiting the city. Would really recommend.

Cute little bistro. Thrives on location in my opinion. Small menu, some items were OK, some were big misses (dissapointing beef bourguignon). Chocolate tart was highlight of evening. Decent wine prices.

Petit Paris Edinburgh Grassmarket We ate on the terrace(Pavement) on a beautiful June evening - excellent French food and service, house wine very good. Recommend eating outside as you can enjoy the streetlife passing by. Will definitely visit again. Staff kindly kept a table inside for us when they had to close the outdoor tablets at 10pm. Great all round experience.

A fun place to eat due to the good humour and professionalism of the staff. The food was excellent - as was the wine and all very well priced. A notable vote of confidence was the number of French visitors eating there too. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Edinburgh - and we will recommend it to all our friends.

Petit Paris, Grassmarket, Edinburgh

This little place looks really unassuming from the outside, but quickly filled up with bookings so is very popular and for good reason. There are approx 6 choices from each course and you are served wine in tumblers - very gallic!

Snails are available for the adventurous. I had the Toulouse sausages (fantastic!) while the rib eye steak melted in the mouth.

Waiters were fantastic and very attentive. Would definitely eat here again.

Petit Paris Edinburgh
Good location in a lively part of the old city. Small and quite rustic but with a nice atmosphere. My friend and I had the stew of the day (lamb) and it was delicious.I particularly liked the way it came with the meat and vegtables in a pot for us to share. I wiould definately eat there again. We went on a Friday eveniing was, very busy, you need to book.

This was recommended to me by other and I have to say was not let down!! I must stay this was a very good meal. The starters were excellent and the apple and mustered sauce that went with the black pudding is worth the money alone, I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, there was a lamb shank on that evening that just fell of the bone. The sweets were just as good, the chocolate tart I could have eating 2 or 3 more slices it was that good. All round great meal and great price.

Petit Paris in Grassmarket district of Edinburgh is a true delight. A little bit of French Heaven. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. It is quite small venue so its important to book Friday and Saturday night to avoid disappointment.
Great choice on menu, loved stew of day served in individual pot. I wont comment on the very potent cherries in Kirsh, just wow and creme brulee, biggest Ive ever seen and went well with fruit!

Our first visit in some time reminded us of the vibrant charachter filled environment that is Petit Paris. On a busy saturday evening the food, service and general ambience were all of the highest order. We won't leave it quite so long to return next time.

cute little french bistro. tables was a little to close to my dining neighbour for my liking - i could have made a bridge between the tables with my knife! The service was unfussy but professional and presentation of the food was suprisingly accomplished for bistro style. boudin noir was good, coq au vin was even better - good depth of flavour and accomplished without staining the chicken red. Good value for money - will return.

Petit Paris in Edinburgh had a truly continental feel as we sat on the pavement table with its checked cloth and French attentive staff. The food was not only excellent in taste but even better in value. A great choice in the Grass Market and handy for the Castle.

Petit Paris-Edinburgh

A place we have wanted to try for awhile when in Edinburgh. It was worth the wait and we were not disappointed. Fabulous atmosphere in a great location in Grassmarket for people watching. We were lucky to have a window seat. The soup and escargot were lovely to start and the stew of the day of beef bourguignon was fantastic. You could tell it had been cooking all day in lots of wine! Can't wait to try the Nottingham restaurant.

Quirky little restaurant on Edinburgh's Grassmarket with good food, excellent service and a very French feeling throughout. Despite the limited size of the menu the food on offer was diverse and interesting. Only downsidfe was a wine served of a younger vintage than stated on the menu - naughty !

My friend and I were in Edinburgh for the rugby and chose the Petit Paris for lunch from Toptable recommendations. We were not disappointed. The meal of 3 courses plus coffee, wine( over a bottle) and service was excellent value at £30/head. Petit Paris is a french style bistro with an excellent location in Grassmarket. The food and service was good. Pity the rugby was so poor!!!

Oozing French charm & real French staff!! We found ourselves speaking Franglais instantly. Food delicious...recommend lobster bisque and daube of venison. Service excellent, very attentive and friendly. Booking necessary as people were being turned away in droves. Only gripe is that tables are very close together and very small. Being XL I couldn't actually get both legs under the table and ate the entire meal at an angle of 45 degrees to the table. Would certainly recommend (for petit diners)

I have visited the Petit Paris restaurant in Edinburgh's Grassmarket on several occasions and have always been delighted with the service, food and wine. It is a small restaurant that delivers authentic classic french food to a high standard in a French cafe ambience. There is a limited menu augmented by daily specials. I shall go again next time I am in Edinburgh.
