The restaurant offers a wonderful combination of both modern and classic Italian dishes prepared in an open kitchen in full view of diners. Fresh pasta is made daily from scratch in the pasta kitchen using only the finest ingredients and traditional techniques.
During the summer months the outdoor terrace and bar in the square provides the perfect place to take a break from shopping and enjoy a relaxing drink or bite to eat with friends.
nice food and good service some dishes over priced ie. steak comes at £30 with no side dish
Excellent food with quick enough service to keep myself and others satisfied
Although the restaurant can appear quite dark due to the decorations, the food and service is fantastic. Its very close to Cabot Circus so makes a welcome oasis in the middle of a shopping trip. Standout dish for us is the bresaola, although we've never had a bad experience here.
Fantastic experience.service and food outstanding
Second time here & the team did not disappoint! Great table, great service, great food, great drinks just great.......thanks!
The food, atmosphere and service was amazing, as usual!
Yes loved it. All great and lively. They accommodated my dog in the outdoors area and nothing was too much trouble. Food fab, tasty and quick but drinks overpriced. £4.50 for water is too much and I did think I had ordered tap water so hill was a surprise but overall very good. I emailed the manager who responded very quickly and I'm satisfied with his reply. Bravo Piccolino.
I can not praise the food, staff, decor and seating enough!!! The most stunning lunch meals for myself and my friends. This is our 3rd visit and it never disappoints. Can’t wsut to visit again
Fish was overcooked and also felt like the service was rushed.
We always enjoy going to Piccolino Bristol. The food and service was great. We brought friends along from Australia and they were impressed with the Italian waitstaff and the large menu on offer.
We have, however, been surprised recently that they no longer offer the free bread for the table. Always found that this was a unique service and lovely addition to the dining experience. I understand that everything costs but perhaps offering it for members would encourage repeat visitors.
Really like the location of the restaurant, easy to book a table online. Staff are friendly and professional. Choice to sit inside or out. I prefer upstairs to downstairs as not so dark but that's a personal choice, but it hasn't been busy enough the few recent visits.
Friends Sunday lunch. AM on duty was very accommodating with my friends baby and the service was excellent. We had a really lovely time and my friends (who had never been for a roast at Piccolino's before) thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
Romano runs a great ship there. Good ambience and excellent food
I first came to Piccolino around 2 years ago, back to back and enjoyed the experience. I decided to take friend for a get together. Unfortunately the experience was totally different. the garlic bread was overdone and was almost like a biscuit. The sea Bass was exceptionally oily along with the Broccoli with garlic and chilli. Didn't feel good after the meal due to the oil content. This is a very nice restaurant, but unfortunately did not enjoy the meal on this occasion.
Visit at least once a month, always welcoming & friendly. Lovely bar area with a huge selection of beverages. Good background music. Something for everyone on the menu & choice of small or large portions.
Excellent as always. Thank you
We ordered a seafood platter and were told that they didn't have mussels and the restaurant asked us if we'd like to have prawns instead. We asked if we could have scallops. The platter came with extra prawns.
The seafood weren't as fresh as I'd like them to be (the prawns were powdery) and the scallop "ceviche" turned out to be cooked scallops, in orange juice?!
The pan-fried sea bass ordered by my friend did seem nice though.
We attend an event in Bristol every year and this is one of our regular spots to eat and will continue to be for years to come I am sure.
This year the food and service was excellent and for once the restaurant was not as busy as usual.
See you again next year!
Food was lovely,good value
Drinks were expensive, service was friendly, although a bit rushed.
we literally just finished our starter course when our main course appeared.
Other than that we had a lovely evening
We have used Piccolinos in Sheffield quite often. We received a card that says "enjoy 50% off all food, all day, everyday in January." We registered the card. We went out with kids and grandkids in Bristol Piccolinos.
When we came to pay the bill we were told we did not get the money off but it went onto an account or something.
The whole process is a SCAM to get people to the restaurant.
We will not be using Piccolinos again. Why do they try such mean tricks?
As it was the food on the occasion was not very good. For example I ordered fish and it came alone on the plate, nothing else, no indication that this was to be from the waiter.
Food was lovely! However a massive party we're in and extremely loud, so to even talk my friend infront of me it felt like we were shouting at eachother.
staff were great ,extensive menu although a bit pricey.bigger restaurant than I thought it would be,and noisey but then it was 10th dec
The food and service was pretty good. The only downside to this restaurant is the noise level - although that may be due to Christmas parties going on. I would go back though.
We had a lovely dinner , the food was yummy amazing fish varieties, really good service , plus really good wine.
Pasta fish wine = yummy
Deffo coming back !
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend Piccolino to anyone looking to dine out in Bristol - either for a quick pizza or pasta dish or a full three-course meal for a special occasion. Will be back soon!
I booked the restaurant online based on the good reviews and was not disappointed. Very lively and great atmosphere. Good food and excellent menu.
We were meeting up with our daughter who is at Bristol University and stayed at a hotel close to the restaurant. The booking was at random but we were delighted by the restaurant. Excellent all round.
This is the first time I have been to Bristol Piccolino and it is the first Piccolino I have been disappointed with. It is a large restaurant, upstairs and downstairs and outside, and the tables are too (small and) close together. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty this made it look awkward. Maybe it has a buzz on Saturday night, but I'm not planning on finding out.
The main disappointment though was the lobster; my favourite dish but this was the worst I have ever come across: small, ugly, not prepared well which made it difficult to get at what meat there was, and poorly cooked with too much butter or oil. And expensive of course, but that's ok if it's as good as it can be.
The three people I was with might have had better experiences; they didn't say and I didn't ask just in case I made things worse for myself by getting envious! Try Nottingham Piccolino's - it's very good.
Despite a menu Priced comparitive to the average Italian chain restaurant Piccolino simply delivers food of a far higher quality and standard with service similarly superior. The decor is tasteful and modern (though my personal taste does not quite extend to the green leather seating) and the ambience good. I was there on a quiet sunny, Sunday afternoon so possibly didn't experience the full evening ambient experience . Overall; excellent food, superior, personal service. I would thoroughly recommend Piccolino and will definitely return.
We discovered Piccolino on a weeklong trip to Bristol. The food was terrific, and the wait staff very attentive and helpful. We are fussy about our Italian food, and Piccolino didn't disappoint. The dishes were inventive, tasty and fresh. Our only regret is that Piccolino is in Bristol and not in our own backyard! With all the chains overtaking Bristol, it's good to know that there are local choices like Piccolino to offer something more than bog standard chain food. We'll be back to Bristol and back to Piccolino.
Enjoyed are evening, think are latte which we complained about being cold when we asked for extra hot. All in all it was a good night.
Slow service, staff more interested in chatting to each other than checking if guests need anything
Met up with friend, we had such a good time that we booked again for 8pm Aug 6th a table for 5. Looking forward to that very much
One word excellent
My wifes Lasagne was very average with little meat seen in the ragu
Pollo Milanese was dry. Extra sauce delivered for spaghetti did help but chicken overcooked.
Manager provided 2 free desserts and also 2 glasses of prosecco as they knew it was our wedding anniversary.
I will therefore give it another chance
Food good but, as somewhat typical of a chain restaurant in a city centre, it was a bit production line. Very noisy.
Food was good with some meals better than others. My husband was disappointed at the lack of lobster in his lobster pasta but other than that everyone was happy. The best bit was the fantastic service - prompt, efficient, meals arrived quickly and staff checked in regularly.
Well looked after. Food very good. All of us enjoyed.
Been here 4 times now and each time the food is fabulous but the service is atrocious, once the main course is served staff lose interest in you even when the restaurant is fairly quiet.
