Piccolino Hale Ratings and Reviews
Luigi makes you most welcome! The service was excellent, perhaps a bit over attentive because we had a corked bottle of wine. This was changed without hesitation and we chose a much better bottle. Because of this the staff were very keen to ensure we had a great evening. The food was fabulous, all three courses! With the main course I must recommend my favourite, courgette fritters and roast potatoes with garlic and rosemary. These went with the rose veal superbly. My guest had the wrapped and stuffed chicken which looked and tasted superb. I would strongly recommend the food here; I have been several times now and will be going back soon, if only to chat again with Luigi!
We just love the service here. Really friendly and attentive. The food is great with a nice mix of pizza, pasta and meat dishes. The complimentary breads are a nice touch. The balsamic vinegar is delicious. We sat outside after specifying that on our online booking and the sun shine whilst watching the world go by was lovely.
We visited on a Friday night, and this restaurant has quickly become one of my favourites; having been to most in Manchester City centre. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly; creating a happy and relaxed environment. Most importantly however, the food is exemplary, and reasonably priced.
Will definitely be back soon - highly recommended.
We used the TT booking system to reserve our table - works perfectly. We arrived to one packed restaurant, a warm evening and the smiles came as we arrived and continued through to the meal end when we left. The menu is quite superb, the quality of the food truly sensational, the service...just about right, not rushed and very attentive. By end of the first course we were saying we wished they had a place near to where we lived! They were extremely busy and you can see why - the ambience was great and if a people watcher just enjoy the Cheshire Set at play! It's Italian through and through - anything to moan about? Perhaps a bit noisy with all the chatter...but a very small bleat against the outstanding levels of this restaurant.
Piccolino's is a really happening place. It's certainly busy on a Saturday night so I would advise to book well ahead. We were given a fabulous table with a view of the street and bar area where we could do some "Star" spotting and just general people watching. The service here is always excellent, very friendly staff, everything arrives on time and even though it's extremely busy, you still feel that you get that personal touch.
The food is excellent. 10/10 - always without fault.
We went to Piccolino in Hale last week as a friend had recommended it to us. We arrived early for our table and the bar was packed with a buzzing atmosphere. It was a bit noisy downstairs for us so the lady on reception suggested a lovely table in the window upstairs. I had the fish of the day which was really nice. We told our waiter all the desserts sounded great and that it was hard to choose when to my delight he organised a tasting plate with mini versions of them all! A lovely touch!
Sun was shining so managed to dine outdoors with heaters on. Lovely food and wine with attentive service. Chocolate fondant desert was a little disappointing as wasn't warm enough. Told waiter who offered to change it but carried on eating as it still tasted yummy.
They always have loads of staff do its easy to get their attention. Pasta dish was v good. Sea bream very good but a little expensive at £24. If you've not been, its a large restaurant with excellent decor and the best ambience. Good bar area with seating too. Outside seating but you need to call to book this.
Staff are very good
We only get back to Hale occasionally but Piccolino is now firmly on our must do list. There's a great choice on the menu - the scallops and crab ravioli in particular last week were delicious - and we have always been made to feel very welcome. Clearly a lively local spot with great support from regulars - deservedly so.
