Everything about Pier 95 was outstanding. The food and service was impeccable and the beautiful view of the canal made our experience wonderful.
My things time at this restaurant (nice service and ambiance) but unfortunately this time around food was not best quality. We found the calamari, sword fish steak and scallop dishes to be equally chewy rather than soft and easily edible. The couple at table right next to ours had a similar complaint. Would give them another shot. Hopefully food quality improves.
Excellent as always.
I eat at Pier 95 often. The ambiance is elegant, the service excellent and the food delicious. Sitting at a table and viewing the marina and the boats is relaxing and adds to the overall experience. If you're looking to escape the summer lunacy on Woodcleft Canal this is the place for you. There is a good wine list, too and
the fish is prepared perfectly.
We took a break from Pier 95 as we thought the food quality was declining. I think we’ll take another break. I felt as if my fish was doused with butter.
Excellent. Highly recommend
Cute Restaurant over looking pier...picturesque! My stuffed shrimp was excellent. Celebrated a birthday here!
I would only recommend this restaurant if your server is Jose. This was our 41st wedding anniversary and I was so looking forward to having dinner here. My husband and I have been here several times before for dinner and our server was always Jose. While they are known for slow service, Jose always checked with us if we needed anything or even to clean the crumbs off our table. The server we had on this particular occasion was awful! SHE delivered a pitcher of sangria with 2 glasses, which I did not ask for, I only wanted a glass of sangria. What happened was the person who seated us took our drink order and SHE may have misunderstood the order. Ok, so mistakes happen, however when I told her I only ordered a glass of sangria SHE walked away in a huff. It took her a good 5-6 minutes to return with my wine. Then we waited another 10 minutes for her to finally come back to take our meal order. SHE stands there with pen and pad in hand waiting, no " What would you like?" Or "Good Evening, I am your server." And did not tell us the specials that were offered. I did not even know that there were specials until we finished our dinner and heard another server repeating the specials to the table next to us. SHE never checked to see if we needed anything, at any time during the meal, even though she passed us many times. So we decided to skip dessert, and pay the bill. Before leaving the restaurant, I did inquire if Jose still worked there which he does, it just happened to be his night off. Therefore, next time I will make a reservation requesting Jose as my server. By the way SHE was the only female server there.
Unfortunately, our experience was not very good. People who were seated after us, were waited on before we were. We had to ask for menus, bread plates, drinks... Our server seemed to have too many tables. When our food finally arrived, the seafood was mostly overcooked and the skirt steak was tough. Sadly, we not be returning.
Food was mediocre at best, my girl friend had shrimp stuffed with what was supposed to be crabmeat, don't know what it was. My paella was bland and the piece of lobster was disintegrating like it was previously frozen. Would not go back.
The service was excellent!!!!! The food was also excellent.
When I am back in New York I will definitely go again
I had the Tuna, would order it again
The food and choices were excellent. The view of the water was very enjoyable and soothing. Service was spotty. There were desserts but there was no dessert menu.
Excellent food & service
What a lovely restaurant on the water in Freeport. We sat by a window, and spent the next 80 minutes staring at the boats and enjoying a great dinner. The meat and fish paella was wonderful and was too much for one person. The salmon was a generous portion as well and was delicious. Service was great and we look forward to returning soon.
Gem of a restaurant. Awesome views. Great food and service! Will definitely go back. Told everyone about it.
This was in a professional setting. The food wes excellant, as was the friendly service. We will surely be back.
Everything was great. I will definitely be going back again.
Food was very good, the service very nice and the atmosphere terrific!
The food was fair, and the service was horrible. Will never go !
Pier 95 was a complete surprise. Our experience with restaurants in Freeport has been touristy, a good view but poor food. Pier 95 has an elegant interior with white tablecloths and shining glassware. The view is of boats moored on the canal and while you are indoors it feels as if you are in the scene. Portuguese is the label for the food served but actually there are seafood and meat dishes available. Warm bread is brought to the table. Our waiter seemed to be in a rush when we first arrived. His service mellowed as the evening went on. The restaurant is small by some standards. 10-12 tables window side and about as many inside as you enter. Scallops, fish pot, lamb, salmon were our dinner choices, all were delicious. Sangria comes in a pitcher … it was delicious too. We will return again.
Seafood was fresh & delicious, the service was 5-star, I highly recommend it!
Very noisy but lovely atmosphere and good food.
Teffific thought I was in n Newport highly recommend the restaurant. We will be return guests and have told a lot of folks about the restaurant
Always a fabulous experience. Love the ambience and the variety of seafood dishes
As usual, the meal was delicious: perfectly grilled branzino; the vegetables neither crunchy nor mushy; the crème brûlée light and airy. The waterside location is very relaxing and the sound level was mostly quiet. The prices are reasonable and considering the excellent cuisine, the location and the service, a much better choice than anywhere on the Nautical Mile.
Our trips to New York are now less frequent but a visit to Pier 95 is a MUST!We arrived on time and like always we were seated on time.Few Long Island restaurants handle that as well as Pier 95.Our table was
just fine and the noise factor was non-existent.However,the friendliness and efficiency of the staff remains a constant at Pier 95.We had not dined there since last Fall and everyone remembered our name.
In the interest of brevity may I say that the simple Chardonnay and my Sprite was served with equal elegance. We had an Octopus appetizer that was to die-for;and their soups which are always great (I had the Calde Verde) just seemed to be greater than ever.I come from a Portuguese home and the Calde Verde at Pier 95 is amazing.I will say that at home the Calde Verde was never served as aesthetically.
My Jan had one of the Paellas and is still raving about it;wondering how does anyone make Pilaf rice
tastes so out of this World. After many visits to this fine restaurant I had never tried anything but their seafood. This time I had a most wonderful veal chop.Just super!Going to Freeport for great seafood and elegant dining? There is only one place-Pier 95!.
First and last time!!! Service was horrible. We waited for everything from menus to drinks to main course. We even had to wait for the check!!!
Food was mediocre at best. The only positive was the view!
Joined good friends for dinner.
From the cod fish appetizers to the Paella main course to
the flan desert everything and everyone was nothing
short of Outstanding!
Will be back shortly!!!
Excellent service, good drinks and fresh seafood.
The staff made our anniversary dinner special. The server was great and the food was well prepared and beautifully served. No rush to get us out after the meal
Food was bland. Except for our waiter - every other person who works there was surly. Not a great experience.
Always a delightful and delicious evening.
Went to dinner for date night with my wife . Waiter was excellent!!! View was great as was the food . Will definitely return !!!
Our first time at Pier 95 and the food was very good. I recommend the clams casino. It was delicious.
I felt our server was going through the motions and he expected us to pass the food and drinks. He did not come back and ask if we wanted another drink and just rushed us through. We all enjoyed our meals and I would come back but would want a different server.
Jose was the best.
I have been to Pier 95 many times. I plan to go back many times.
The food was terrible. The salad was overdressed. The shrimp were big but fishy. The soup was watery. The risotto was rice and very salty. The fish was a nice portion but salty and not worth it.
The food was terrific but the service was slow even though the restaurant was pretty empty.
The food and service were on the money so we’re the drinks
