Jurema Terrace at The Mandrake
Cosy, vibrant restaurant with great food and service.
Had lovely food from the A la Carte menu and pleased to find it was just as good as other visits. We were squeezed in at the back around large Christmas party groups which was a shame, as very loud and right by the staff access point. Next time downstairs would be preferable. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant.
So pleased to have discovered this little gem- we had the set pre Christmas lunch on a very busy weds before Christmas . Food and service was excellent and it had a lovely festive feeling despite being full and fairly noisy! Will definitely return
You can't have a conversation there easily. It is too noisy, too squashed and not as good value as it claims to be. Food was all good, but it was not an pleasant or relaxing evening out.
Lovely restaurant, friendly and full of atmosphere, excellent food, efficient service, nice location close to our theatre visit
Tonight was our one year anniversary. Our first date was spent getting to know each other over a meal at Pierre Victoire. The food was great, staff were very friendly and the setting was lovely. You really can't ask for a better venue than this.
Both starters Moyles and a goat's cheese salad were delicious. My duck main was also very good. Unfortunately my husband's rib-eye steak left a lot to be desired. It was stringy and tough. When we mentioned this to staff it was obvious they were not going to do anything about it, which was a shame. It was my birthday and my husband didn't want to spoil my evening by complaining further. Pierre Victoire is out go to restaurant when visiting London's West end, and surely it wouldn't have been too much to offer him an alternative.
good food, friendly staff. It was very busy and so quite noisy (around 5pm - 7pm)
First time since the 1990's to have visited a Pierre Victoire and very pleased with deco, sevice and very good food. Shall be visiting again!
What a riot! Loved the joint. Pianist goes well with the vibrant bistro. Doesn't hurt that the food is good too. Got to go back.
Great restaurant, highly recommend going, very relaxed atmosphere, one downside, table wasn't anywhere near ready for the time we booked it.
Arrived on time for our booking and had to wait 30 mins outside in the cold before being shown to our table. The restaurant host was requesting some tables go to a local pub for a drink because their wait was going to be so long - clearly it was chronically overbooked. After being sat in the basement next to the toilet, we were served the wrong wine and not given the bread other tables received (without reminding). They setup an additional table downstairs which pretty much blocked the exit and was a fire escape hazard, the wait staff had to carry all the dishes over the top of guests heads, and also a full barrel of beer! Food was average - not as good as on my two previous visits to this restaurant. When we said we would not pay the service charge on account of the long wait to sit down, the waiter proceeded to make me feel guilty by telling me he was unable to get past guests to vacate their tables... Its the managers fault for overbooking, not the customers! Will not be returning.
As always a pleasure. Superb service and food and a really buzzy atmosphere. Friday night was busy so very loud but excellent.
Excellent food and service. Tables a bit too close together and can be a bit noisy.
Fantastic and authentic tasting menu with plenty of choices. First class though it was very busy and we had to rush at the end as heading to the theatre.
Good friendly service. Food was delicious and good value for money for West London.
Excellent restaurant. Food top quality, service and staff lovely, ambience and atmosphere just right and very good value for money. We just keep coming back it so good.
Great pre-theatre dinner exceeded our expectations. Lots of choice and all tasty. Service was quick and waiting staff all very friendly. It was a little noisy, but we didn't mind. Great location for Dominion theatre.
Love Pierre Victoire. Service and food excellent and great value. Piano a tad loud though - but otherwise absolutely great!
A delightful little find in the heart of the west end. Lovely food and ambience and staff. Will definitely go again, loved it.
Always outstanding - a terrific little place with great staff
I went to Pierre Victoire with work friends a few weeks ago and the food and service was excellent. I did not find the food as enjoyable this time round and my husband was not that impressed either. Perhaps just a bad night.
Great food and a great restaurant with a pianist. A bunch of guests started singing which added to the great atmosphere. This place is a gem.
We arrived on time. Large queue outside. Waiting 15 mins. People who were booked in before us left, we were all stood outside in the rain. No members of staff came out to talk to anyone. Shambles.
Absolutely love this restaurant, especially this time of year, so festive
Went to Pierre Victoire on a Saturday with my family for dinner for the pre-theatre menu. The service was great - very friendly, with a very cosy atmosphere and there was also live music in the background. The food was great - a nice selection of dishes to pick from and good value for money. Would definitely come here again!
The menu is always exceptional, it is difficult to select just one dish the dishes are so mouthwatering in their description. The staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is always good. The service is prompt but never too hurried.
The depth of flavour and the selections of food are so wonderful that we never go anywhere else when we are in the vicinity.
This last time I tried Brie fried with a caramelised onion layer, served with pieces of pear that had been soaked in Calvados. The taste was brilliant and the combination superb.
Incredible restaurant with amazing food for such a reasonable price. I've been a few times and it has always been consistent.
We had a booking for 8:30- arrived on time- told the table was not ready- waited 40 mins for our table. No apologies- no discount or free drink while we wait- they just suggested we go wait in a pub down the road.
Food was great once we got our table.
Great evening for our anniversary. Excellent food and bubbly. Bit of a tight squeeze space wise but part of the charm. Great spot. Fish soup was excellent as was the steak dish
Lovely cosy restaurant, great atmosphere if a tad noisy. Food was very good with exception of the mussels (too much garlic). Service was a bit off, waiter a bit rude, pushy... not felt very welcomed.
Love this little restaurant- staff were great - food was delicious- can’t recommend highly enough
Good food and good service, despite being extremely busy!
One of my favorite restaurants in London! I chose this for my last meal this trip, and it was delicious as always! Be sure to make a booking as it is always packed, especially if you want the fixed price menu.
Wonderful food and service, but of course a table of noisy customers spoils the atmosphere somewhat.
One of the best value for money places in central London (especially for lunch). Tasty and well presented food, cozy atmosphere and good service.
Not the place for a pre theatre meal - go to Macdonalds instead for a better time.
We went for a pre theatre meal because:
1. Their website stated "Pierre Victoire is the premier choice for those looking for a delightful and great-value pre-theatre meal within a few yards of some of the best theatre shows in the West End London."
2. Tables were booked for a max time of 105 Minutes (so we assumed that this was plenty of time for a meal)
3. Their staff at the time of ordering said 60 mins was plenty of time for a full 3 course meal. They even promised they would ask the chef to prepare our meals as quickly as possible. I like to make sure restaurants know we are on a schedule and also tell them we have less time than we have allowed for.
We actually allowed for 90 mins (preferred time and we could skip coffees if required) and had up to 100 mins if required.
The meal took 60 mins to arrive. After 30 mins of waiting the enjoyment start to wane. After the 45 mins we were getting worried. By the time the meal arrived all enjoyment was lost, we were stressed and frustrated and rushed out meals. We also missed out on deserts - something we always look forward to.
If they cant offer a pre dinner service then DONT advertise it! Or warn customers they need to allow 2 to 3 hours for a meal. I'm sure if we had time for a 2 to 3 hours meal we would have had a enjoyable meal.
Good food and ambiance
Definitely would come back.
The food was great, the service and ambiance good, the prices were not too high -- we paid £35 per person for mains and dessert plus a bottle of wine.
There were only two faults to the evening -- although the piano player was a nice touch, it was a tad too loud and made conversation tricky. Also, the waiter (politely) asked us to leave after 2 hours, which I guess is not unusual for London; however we weren't informed of this in advace, so was a bit of a nuisance.
Good food and very friendly staffs. Live music was playing. Will be back for the 3 mid time for sure
