Our first time at Pig and Khao and we were more than pleased. We shared the mushroom salad, the baby octopus and the khao soi (great) plus a coconut rice. Everything was good but we ordered too much for the two of us. Know that the food is as spicy as it is in Thailand (fine with us) but not for most palates. Great service. Packed: everyone seemed as happy as we were to be there. Make a reservation.

The food was delicious. and the wait staff was wonderful. The only slight issue for us was, it would have been nice if the rice we ordered came out at the same time as our meals. By the time we finished our first few small plates, the rice arrived. We sat in the back (outside) and it was extremely noisy and loud. Difficult to hold a conversation.

First time there - our son just moved to the neighborhood from Philadelphia that day. Had a great meal - great service and loved the soundtrack playing! Will definitely be back.

As always, a great dinner experience. The service was excellent and everyone on the staff was very friendly and accommodating. A solid and unique L.E.S. Restaurant.

Ventilation could have been better as the restaurant smelled greasy/smokey. The mushroom salad was especially good, but we ordered a little too much for a group of 4 (5-6 small plates + 1 large plate).

This place was recommended by a friend as the place to go in LES. We couldn't decide so we did the Tasting Menu. It was great! A lot of food with a nice variety. Wonderful service.

We've eaten at Pig & Khao three times since we first ate there a few years ago because we were staying in a hotel near Delancey. It's still one of our favorite restaurants. The food is very creative and unusual, so don't eat there if you're expecting a cheeseburger (although they have ribs and what are almost like wings.) It's also reasonably priced (for NYC) and if you have a foursome it's especially nice because you can get a number of small plates and share them. The cuisine is a SE Asian fusion - not any one cuisine but definitely NOT the same old Vietnamese or Thai food. Some of the most delicious and interesting food around. Also, as the name implies, it's not the best for vegans or vegetarians - the best dishes are MEAT (i.e. the eponymous Pig and Khao.)

Boy do they need a hood cleaning. Incredibly smoky and acrid—everyone around us was choking on the heated chiles. I could see how dirty the hood was from where we sat. Gross. Waitress very nice and helpful. Chicharron underseasoned and tasting of old oil. Food generally good but underseasoned and mingy on the protein—but lots of herbs. I would not go back.

I'm a big foodie and love trying the restaurants of Food Network chefs so I tried Pig & Khao with a group of friends. We had the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Not on the tasting menu is the coconut rice, which I'm still thinking about because it was so delicious!

Place is always a bit loud but otherwise the food is good. Service can vary - we had a fairly good guy start us off but then the waitress who’s normally there with attitude gave us the bill.

Could do without the attitude.

Food was good, Khao soi and pork jowl and garlic fried rice are always go to favorites.
Made a reservation for 2 people , got seated outside enclosed backyard area....
The noise out there because there is no soundproofing or the noise just bounces and with the music so loud- you could not have any conversation with anyone.....the noise was deafening.
Thus the meal was totally not enjoyable.
Would never sit out there ever again-
do not recommend going if you want to talk with your company, but then I guess their unlimited brunch mimosa/drinks are what draws the rowdy loud crowd. If you dont go to drink (we did not ), advise not going

The flavors were excellent overall - dishes were well-seasoned and the flavor profile was pretty accurate for the Filipino & Thai dishes that we ordered. I appreciated that the halo-halo had no beans, but the leche flan should have been creamier - nevertheless still a very enjoyable dish on a warm night! However because it was a Saturday night and very busy, the dishes were *very* slow to come out of the kitchen - 20 minutes before the chicharon came out (something that can be made well in advance of service starting and should take less than a minute to plate).

Food was very good. The place has a nice vibe. Thought the service could be less rushed. There were no customers waiting but as soon as we took the last bite, our plates were taken away.

Creative, delicious dishes. Recognizable ingredients with a flair and depth.
Mixed drinks are also creative and refreshing and pair well with the food.
Felt it's pricey, but will definitely return for a fun, special meal.

There are hundreds of restaurants in the five boroughs that can easily be recommended for any of the attributes listed by Open Table. And, to be certain, Pig and Khao does indeed qualify for many of them. However, when I go to a restaurant, I go to eat, and if the food is lousy, there is nothing else that'll make up for it. This restaurant serves DELICIOUS food. I first went there about three years ago, loved it, and was not disappointed with my latest and second visit. It's comforting to know that in a city where even good restaurants come and go, that Pig and Khao is still around. Everything we had was flavorful, satisfying, and perfectly seasoned and cooked! I also had a drink named "Mr. Horchata", which was one of the most delicious cocktails I've ever had. Keep up the excellent work!

I've been to Pig and Khao for different occasions, from dining alone to the most recent, which was celebrating my birthday. I always have a wonderful experience--the food is fantastic, flavorful, and comforting, and the ambiance is fun (music is great). I love introducing this place to new diners--they always leave with the same feeling. Can't wait to find another reason to go back!

This is one of my favorite dining spots. The food was excellent like usual but the service was less than par, which was surprising. Food was delayed for a slow night. We had to keep asking for dishes that were forgotten. But the thing that urked me the most was that my dish was taken away while I was still eating. I had to ask the staff to please return my plate as I was still working on it.

great food i am pescatarian & they were very conducive & helped me find an option that fit my needs. it is definitely a small restaurant so i would keep that in mind if you’re looking for a place for a bigger group or dont like restaurants where they’ve crammed in a lot of tables. the restaurant has a great vibe & is very energetic which can make it challenging to have a conversation but i over look that for how phenomenal the food is :)

This is my second trip to Pig & Khao. I love this place. Small, a little warm at the chef's counter, and noisy in a good way. The food is delicious and I always overeat, I just don't want to stop. Other "Asian Fusion" type of food doesn't hold a candle to the inventiveness of the chef. The infusion of Fillipino into Thai and other Asian gives the food a kind of familiarity and yet it's very unique. I could probably be satisfied just with the Coconut Rice and peanuts, LOL! But we went tasting menu this time, well worth it. A steal for NYC. This is a go-to place for me in NYC! Long-live P&K!

Food was great but don't make reservations after 9pm, they will turn on the lights, blast the music, and do everything in their power to kick you out if you go past 10pm. Quite rude, we had to chug our drink and leave.
