Piola NEVER disappoints. Space is cozy, owners and waitstaff are very attentive and friendly and the food is amazing!
Great food. Friendly staff. Nice cozy place.
Great restaurant. Donna and Bobby are super people. Glad to have them as friends.
Great ambience an delicious meal!
We ate on the patio and it was a wonderful experience!
We choose Piolas for the spacious and therefore safe patio and because I was wanting mussels. No mussels on menu and the Chicken Pesto and Sun dried tomato chicken were just so so. We ordered an appetizer to share and a salad to share. They took it upon themselves to split the salad in the kitchen and charged us an extra $2. Meh
Great service, great price would definitely come back again!
Excellent food. We felt the portions were a little small for the price but overall an excellent meal and we’ll be back.
The crab cakes, salad, and red snapper were excellent. Service was good; wine list ok
As we all venture into the new dining experience i was a bit troubled with our experience. The sever was nice and attentive. Our dinner was flavorful and creative as expected. However, with each stage of the dining process we were constantly told we had to make quick decisions because the kitchen was about to close at 9 and the kitchen wanted to get orders to close. Our reservation was for 8:15. We were greeted quickly and delivered menus. Around 8:30 we ordered our dinner choices. Our dinner arrived in a timely manner, but our server repeatedly reminded us the kitchen was closing any minute. We were told we had to order deserts almost immediately following the service of our meal. After a couple of times I finally asked why they take 8:15 dinner reservations if they are going to repeatedly remind patrons they must order all courses before 8:30. While I appreciate his desire to make sure we didn’t miss out on a final course, it was a annoying. Moral of the story, book dinner at 6:00pm if you want desert. I will go back, but they have service issues that need to be addressed.
Patio is perfect for any occasion but especially a date night. Bobby and his staff (especially Matt) are top notch and the food is wonderful. Great neighborhood spot, we’re lucky to have them.
Seating on the patio is so great there! Food is amazing! We love it there!
Outstanding experience as always. Perfect service, and wonder food. Enjoyable wine list. Thank you.
Went to Piola for the first time. The man that greeted us (seemed to be a manager or maybe the owner) was so sweet! The restaurant is decorated super cute and is on the smaller side, which made it feel very comfortable and homey.
We ordered the Caesar salad — delicious — the dressing is not a thick Caesar dressing, it is thinner and very lemony.
I had the sun-dried tomato chicken entree, my husband had the lasagna, and we shared a side of asparagus risotto. We shared the creme brulee for dessert.
Everything was SO delicious!!!!! We REALLY enjoyed our dinner.
The only mild “complaint” I have is that I ordered a glass of wine, and reminded the server, but she forgot both times. No huge deal, she was busy and I just really liked the Chardonnay! 😂
The food was delicious, the ambiance was charming, but the service was subpar. The waitress was about as far removed from personable as she could get. The drinks were just ok. The Old Fashioned was made poorly and my friends Vodka and Tonic had to be sent back at least twice.
We went for my friend’s birthday. The food was excellent.
I went to Piola’s for lunch to celebrate my birthday with some girlfriends .The two course meal is not only a bargain, but the food is delicious. Always great service.
Such a Fabulous Italian Restaurant, owned by an Italian, in this very charming house that sits on this corner lot not 10 minutes from the Kimball Art Museum. We brought our friends to dinner after seeing the Flesh and Blood exhibit, they actually own a villa in Italy, and they loved the whole experience! Food was delicious and freshly made...nice wine menu as well! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a unique dining experience, so quaint!
Our second time , this time with friends and the food was great, service is always outstanding. Can't wait for the weather to be better so we can use their beautiful patio. We will be back!
The front of the house was wonderful and seated us earlier than our reservation time on a busy Saturday night. Our waiter Tim was friendly, attentive and very helpful. The food was delicious! We can’t wait to go back next time we are in town.
This is a great place for quiet dining as a couple or with friends. The ambience is wonderful as is the food. When the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is outstanding!!
Booked a birthday dinner for my wife. The restaurant is in on old converted house and the exterior and interior are very nice. It was too cold to try the patio but it looked very inviting as well.
We arrived at our appointed time and were immediately seated by the owner. Our waiter was very prompt getting to our table and took our wine order right away.
Appetizers were an order of crab cakes and an order of steamed mussels. Both were prepared very nicely. Crab cakes came with a lemon aioli which paired well with the crab flavor. The mussels were steamed in a classic white wine, herbs and garlic broth. Mussels were plump and juicy and not overcooked like many other restaurants.
Entrees were the two specials of the evening. Seared scallops and shrimp paired with a red pepper risotto. Moist and tender scallops and shrimp with just the right amount of searing. The risotto was the best we have had in a long time. Soft and creamy texture that stayed that way throughout dinner.
I had the veal chop special. a 14oz bone in veal chop with a mushroom demi-glace accompanied by garlic seasoned fried potatoes with goat cheese sprinkles and steamed asparagus. The chop had a nice sear on the outside and was a perfect medium rare in the center. The demiglace enhanced the overall flavor of the chop nicely. The potatoes were well seasoned and were crisp and the cheese added a nice tanginess. The asparagus was steamed to perfection. a nice little snap to the outside and a soft middle.
Dessert was a shared creme brulee that made for a nice finish to a wonderful meal.
Service was prompt and efficient even though there was a full house. The noise level was a little loud for our taste it wasn't loud or obnoxious, so we just leaned a little closer to hear better. Overall it was a very nice dinner in a lovely old house. The pricing was very good considering the quality and service. I have paid a LOT more for less at other so called fine dining restaurants. We will definitely visit Piola
I had another pleasant dining experience.
This was my 4th time to visit Piola's, but the first in a few years. My date had not been before so I was excited to share the experience with him. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed in our meal. His linguini had undercooked vegetables and was lacking in flavor and my lobster ravioli was drowning in its vodka sauce. While we were underwhelmed with our food, the service was fantastic and made it a pleasant experience overall.
This was our first time trying this establishment and was VERY disappointed that they had a set menu for Valentine’s night. Had this been advertised in advance that the full menu would not be available we would have picked another night to patronize. I didn’t feel like the options we had to pick from was worth the price assessed and we couldn’t make any substitutions 😡
We have been to Piola several times over the years. It seems that the food has declined in quality and taste. Very disappointing as this was one of our go to restaurants close by.
Food, service and atmosphere were all great!!!
Always great. They always cook fish perfectly. Service is good without hovering.
Visitors from out of town ... wanted good experience where noise level was minimal for ease of conversation. We got everything we wanted. Love Piola!
I chose to celebrate my 60th Birthday at Piola. The food is always delicious, the service is outstanding and I have never had anything other than a positive experience. I highly recommend both the Lobster Ravioli and the Rigatoni Bolognese.
A very special place. Neighborhood vibe. Extremely good hospitality. Great for any occasion.
Service was great and the food was excellent
Excellent food with a nice selection of both food and wines. Service was very attentive and professional. Great experience, which is typical for this establishment.
Our waitress was not very personable . This is not what I have become accustomed to at Piola.
Would have preferred to be asked if our table of three women wanted separate checks. As it was, we had to do the math and split out the costs ourselves. This is 2020 with computers! Not too hard to split out what each person had. At least ask if a table would like separate checks.
We received fantastic service from Tim, and the meal was delicious as always. Not one morsel of food was left to bring home. We look forward to returning!
The food was superb and the staff went out of there way to make my father’s birthday a charming celebration. For a unique dining experience with elegance, this is the place.
Wonderful dinner this past Saturday night. There were six of us with each person getting a different dish, and everyone walked away happy. Great service and great food!
We arrived around 5pm and enjoyed happy hour drinks and appetizers. It was very quiet and cozy. The waitress was very attentive. My husband had the risotto and shrimp dish, which he really enjoyed. I had a pasta and shrimp dish that I thought was supposed to have spinach in it, but didn't. It tasted good. We had the chocolate ganache for dessert and it was outstanding.
