Pizza East - Portobello
Just like our big brother in Shoreditch, while we take our pizza seriously the setting is very relaxed. We’ve stripped the building’s interior back and created a light and airy space with wooden floors and huge windows, then filled it with beautiful vintage cafe furniture. The in-house wood-fired ovens and open ground floor kitchen mean there are great views to be had inside, especially from the antique stools at the counter, or you can sit outside and watch the world go by.
Our upstairs dining room is an even more laid-back sitting room, as is our terrace, a little green haven away from the hustle of town, where you can have drinks or dinner.
Good food, but very crowded and not enough wait staff for the day and time. I also arrived just after opening so it should not have been that difficult before it filled up. I had to track someone down for every aspect of meal - drinks, ordering food, ordering coffee. Pizza was also not as good as usual. I think they are resting on their laurels and need to up their game. Take a few tables out and make it a pleasant experience again.
As usual, we had a lovely time. Thank you. My bunch of friends and I have celebrated every birthday with you since you first opened. We will, of course, be back soon.
El lugar muy lindo y muy bien ambientado. La comida es aceptable. Típica pizza europea finita .
All just perfect!
Disappointing, pizza was cold and never got the salad I ordered. It was busy and the waiter was very pleasant but generally chaotic service.
All was perfect like usual when you went to London
Déjeuner avec mes parents pour le 24 décembre. Une équipe accueillante et très professionnelle. Nous avons très bien mangé ! Je recommande !
Need to go back asap!!
I had made réservations for 13 hrs ( 1 pm.) but the bad weather, décided us to go with the children an hour earlier. At 12 o'clock..!!!
There was No problem.!!!
We were delighted.
The young waitress who took'care of us, called FLORA, was a very Nice and efficient girl.
We enjoyed our Lunch, really a lot.
We usually come to London, before Christmas, to celebrate meeting our cousins.
And we Love going to Portobello Market and having Lunch at Pizza East.
Thank you very much,
As we usually do, we had a lovely time and will be back in January! See you then.
Best pizza in Notting Hill ... everything else is pretty delicious too! Be warned, noise level is really, really high.
We were greeted by a very rude hostess, our table wasn’t ready so we stood and waited while she looked for chairs for without explanation, then lead us over grunted and left without a word. nobody seemed to be pulling everything together. We had to flag waiters down to order anything. All of the food was cold and over cooked, service was really slow and disappointing. All of the food was cold and tasteless. I’ve been here and really enjoyed it. I really don’t know how somewhere can go so downhill.
This was for a birthday meal and should’ve been a nice experience. Pizza East have really lost their touch.
There was almost no mozzarella in pizza Marguerita, just the dough and tomato sauce
The tables for x 2 people on bar stools are so uncomfortable and cramped. You have to bend down to eat and left my fellow dining companion with a bad back.
I asked to change and literally was told no by the charmless bookings assistant.
It was great
Went with the kids. For some reason it was soooo loud. I found the noise irritating.
I have been coming here for years and I think they have lost their touch. It’s simple food at excessive prices without generous portions. It’s crazy and chaotic which used to be charming but it’s now a kids haven and the food isn’t up to scratch for the prices.
Staff are lovely but they are not always present. Overall, I think it’s had its day.
We enjoyed good pizza and a view drinks in nice atmosphere. Friendly service.
Great pizza and ambiance. A bit overpriced in my opinion, but still great!
We spent more than 130 euros for 2 small pizzas and a very small plate of lasagna for a kid with 4 glasses of wine.
The quality of the food and the atmosphere was good. The staff was very nice.
Good food, but felt like i was on a conveyor belt and as soon as i'd finished, felt like the staff were trying to get me to leave immediately so they could get the table back. Appreciate it's busy but felt very rushed... which was a shame as food was delicious.
Quick service, good food, ideal for family gatherings and couples weekday dates
Nice and cool place, we went to Pizza East Shoreditch the next day, since we enjoyed it so much at your place. Cozy and vibrant at the same time, would very much like to come back.
bad food.. definitely not authentic Italian...soooo disappointing..avoid
We had a fantastic lunch served by a lovely waiter Lucas .
Food was superb and amazing service
It was sunday so the restaurant was full and it took a lot of time to get our food. However, the pizzas were amazing.
Really noisy, and also a bit annoyed that the waiter had to ask us 3 times if we still wanted our starters after the mains had been serves...
I really enjoyed my experience to Pizza East. Great food and a good selection. The atmosphere for a Saturday night was buzzing but getting to my table was a bit tight however the service was excellent.
Not a place for a romantic date. Loads of noisy children but if you can overlook this the pizzas are fantastic.
If you like your pizza piping hot, send it back because it’s never hot.
This place used to be great and we went a lot, but it was terrible the night we went. Food was pretty much inedible, pizza dough raw, toppings rubbery and tasteless. Also they were playing a bizarre playlist of naff 80s hits loudly. We scarpered as quickly as we could! The service was fine but not particularly smiley or personal.
The food is good! especially pizza but the service is very unprofessional and not organized!
Pizza was decent -- although I was quite disappointed by how little veggie was on the aubergine pizza... Will come back again though!
This place is not even a shadow of what it used to be - very sad - food was not great but mostly, service was abysmal
Ages to be sat, drinks chased, water not given having been asked, pizza toppings not correct, sauces not correct, bill not correct, no apology. Poor.
Super friendly service, fabulous atmosphere and casual setting. On the pricey side but reasonable value for the area.
Fantastic as always....we go every year when we’re in London, food always fantastic, would highly recommend it!!!
I've been to the Shoreditch location a bunch of times which has always been great, location wise the Portobello Road one worked out better this time. Service was great, there was a little mix up with the table I was sat at so I had to move after five minutes or so, which was no problem of course but it came with an apology and a free (delicious) drink. Just goes to show how much the staff is willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. Food was delicious and came quickly. I paid with a credit card and the system somehow doesn't allow tipping when you pay electronically. I didn't have any cash on me and felt bad not being able to tip! So bring some cash to reward the lovely staff if you go here :) and get the truffle pecorino croquettes. Cocktails were lovely as well. I dined alone which can be a little awkward sometimes but it was no issue here.
Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The food was very good and the atmosphere was fun.
Attentive and friendly service and excellent starters and pizza as always. Great atmosphere and good choice of reasonably priced cocktails and wines.
Nice location on Portobello street, with outdoor seating facing street and the square. Staff was very friendly, and efficient. Food was very tasty and made with quality ingredients. Price was very reasonable. Overall a very nice dining experience.
