Pizza East - Portobello
Just like our big brother in Shoreditch, while we take our pizza seriously the setting is very relaxed. We’ve stripped the building’s interior back and created a light and airy space with wooden floors and huge windows, then filled it with beautiful vintage cafe furniture. The in-house wood-fired ovens and open ground floor kitchen mean there are great views to be had inside, especially from the antique stools at the counter, or you can sit outside and watch the world go by.
Our upstairs dining room is an even more laid-back sitting room, as is our terrace, a little green haven away from the hustle of town, where you can have drinks or dinner.

Fabulous meal in a beautiful and lively setting.
Service was personal and warm.
Families, models and tourists all enjoying a great experience.
Good amazing food as always. Still just serves wine in tumblers which is a shame as it really does taste nicer in wine glasses.
On this occasion our waiter wasn’t very attentive and we had to call him over for ordering etc. Else place is a good spot and they know how to make pizzas.
Tiny portion of fish, a one leaf of chard and a smear of parsnip puree for £15. I think you're ok if you stick with the pizza.
Good place for casual Sunday's brunch.
Good food, good service & as usual very kids frindly
Overall very good,my sons pizza was a bit to burned
Great food and amazing Pizza with quality ingredients!
Roast dinner at Pizza East was terrible - dry and cold. Basically just really badly reheated food.
Lovely spot for a friends' get together. Would return when next in the area!
as always, we had a lovely time. on this occasion, I introduced a couple of friends to PE and they loved it just as I do.
Came on saturday night for an early fathers day with my dad! We had such a wonderful time, atmosphere was lively, service was great and we loved our waiter, food even tastier we both left stuffed.
Will be back very soon for sure!!
No problem with the food or service. I've eaten there often before, but usually at lunch or brunch. Never before in the evening and I won't do so again as the noise level was terrible. Whether the room (upstairs) has a bad accoustic, or the restaurant just attracts noisy people I couldn't say. But we had to shout over the table at each other to have some sort of conversation and we left early to have a coffee down the road.
Amazing food. Didn’t order any pizza. The sides and mains were adventurous, full of flavour and packed with unique pairings; ie dog, toasted pine nuts and Burrata.
It's such a shame that the service experience does not live up to the food quality. Service is what makes the experience so memorable that you talk about it. There are a million good pizza places in London. An example of an eatery that is so intent of being cool that they forget that great service is the coolest thing they can give. Smile in greeting. When you are saying no, do it with some charm, when the kids food is late to the table, be apologetic, look up and around you all the time to see who is trying to catch your attention. Have your cosy staff chat another time. Remember to apologise when you get something wrong. Smile.
We go to this restaurant regularly, service is exceptional, staff are always friendly, warm and welcoming, good food reasonably priced, can get a bit loud in there depending on which time you go and which table you’re seated at.
Perfect as always. Great service, great food and great with allergies!
Lovely evening at Pizza East. Fab service and wonderful food and drinks x
A perfect start to the day. Great service, amazing food. Job done.
Running a bit late for appointment but still accommodated very relaxed and great Pizza
Always brilliant, staff are great, pizzas are great, cocktails are great. Tip top
Good food but service was not very professional, tables are tiny and not enough space between the tables to enjoy the food properly.
Nice Saturday evening at pizza East with friends. Food was great quality as ever and lovely ambience. Service was a little slow and inattentive though this time. Had to wait ages for drinks to arrive and to get bill etc
Another excellent meal at Pizza East. Friendly and attentive service and great food. Starters to share followed by a great pizza.
The tables were so close together with no space to go though so we kept getting bumped by everyone trying to get past. The music was awful. The food is very ordinary. They then got us the wrong bill for someone else’s table. Really ordinary place with ordinary food. Not sure why it is so popular!!
I had been waiting to eat at Pizza East for ages as I heard it was the best pizzaria in London. It's not. Pizzas are good but not worth the cost for a quick family bite out. The restaurant is fun and energetic and the staff are really lovely but we were all disappointed with the pizzas.
Incredible pizza but on the pricey side. Beautiful
Salami Pizza with extra spicy sausage....just the best.
A fun night out with friends. Lively atmosphere and food for everyone ‘s taste.
Menu is limited. No gluten free menu.
Pizza east is one of my all time favourite restaurants, however this time I was taking two of my friends here for lunch with me and it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. The food, as always, was delicious, however I thought the staff could of been a bit friendlier. When we payed we ended up getting the wrong change and the old 1 pound coins. I found this upsetting as we thought they may of been taking advantage of us. However this is a one off and on a normal basis I absolutely love this restaurant, the staff are fabulous and the food is out of this world amazing!
Great atmosphere, very busy but great service and lovely food!
Bit overpriced for Pizza but nice enough meal
They only let us have the table for 1.5 hours, even though when booking it said that we would have if for 2.
I used to visit Pizza East Portobello regularly as the pizza was always very good, the restaurant had a cozy and cheerful atmosphere and the service was kind and efficient. However, last night I had one of the worst pizza I’ve had in a long time. All the pizzas we ordered arrived cold, they were so hard it was almost impossible to cut. When we complained we were told by a waitress that the pizza chef was in training so that is probably why this happened. The restaurant was almost empty, and we were out at a table by the door right by the door. It’s a shame, but we will not be coming back soon.
Very relaxed breakfast experience for families with kids. There were several other families there on Sunday morning, the coffee was good and the children enjoyed the colouring provided by the hostess. The food was more geared to adults (the pancake was not sweet, 2 kids ordered and did not eat it and instead had pain au chocolate) and the egg dishes were delicious. We had a nice relaxing long breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - which is unusual with 4 children in the group.
always very good but service always a bit off. they always forget about us for a while
Fabulous - as always. I will be back soon (as Pizza East well knows by now!!).
I really like Pizza East. However, last time we dined there the service was slow and uncoordinated. The restaurant was full but they could have made an effort for the last two plates to not arrive 20 minutes later. The food itself is really good as is the ambience of the place.
I travel to London ofen and i always choose Pizza East Portobello for a date .
The best place in London :)
I’d always heard good things about Pizza East and wanted to take family there for food.!There were hairs on the napkins and a few strands on our food. It was super busy and didn’t seem as if enough staff were on hand to cope. Considering the prices - it’s not super expensive but not cheap either - I expected better.
As usual, we had a lovely time at Pizza East. Great table, bathed in sunshine, fabulous food and most importantly, fabulous and friendly service. Thank you, Pizza East!
