What Insiders Are Saying
Plateau is an upscale fine dining restaurant in Canada Place with a nice view over the main square and flawless modern French cuisine.
Food is OK but nothing extraordinary... Priority is on the look rather than the taste!
Reasonably priced 3 course set menu for early evening dinner.
Typical atmosphere of a big open room restaurant with a business atmosphere and nice views over Canada Square.
A nice romantic dine-in for two.
Lovely setting, great staff from reception to the service, and not to mention delicious food .
I’ve actually been before but it was so long ago I had forgotten. I will return soon as the lovely receptionist said on leaving.
Shocking service in this restaurant, ordered two fillet steaks first they are the size of a postage stamp second both cooked in correctly. Asked for medium well came medium rare sent it back after 10 mins came back like a piece of charcoal. Sat for ten minutes with empty glasses had to ask waiter to refill the wine from our bottle, coffee ordered after ten mins had to chase and then to add insult to injury they made me wait 20 mins to pay! And even asking for service to be removed nobody asked if everything was ok!! Will never return appalling!
Restaurant was pretty empty in the lunch time, which was good. Food was ok but had higher expectations for the price. Beautiful presentation. Slow service even though place was empty-ish.
Amazing chocolate cake though!
Pleasant Mother’s Day lunch. Beef and lamb was very good just a little on the cool side when served. Fabulous space with spectacular views. Very friendly staff.
Very average. Quite expensive
A really great place, although I found it a little hard to find, I think if it says Above Waitrose, it would make it easier to find, apart from that very nice food, presented in a nice way by polite and helpful staff
Certainly living on past reputation. This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in London. Nothing special and bland tasting. I never usually need to add salt and pepper. Big disappointment we even skipped dessert.
A lovely date night.
Although 2 courses for £25 quickly turned into an £85 bill with a couple of cocktails, bottled water and 2 side dishes. So just be prepared if you’re looking for a meal in a budget.
Best pork belly dish I've had.
Staff were extremely friendly and importantly they presented a cake for my dad's birthday.
Last minute booking. Great service, good ambience and good food. Would highly recommend
Lovely evening, the food & service were both great.
I like the environment and the food! Service is excellent. I booked the table for our anniversary. It is a casual lunch as we have just celebrated Valentine day yesterday.
We are very impressed when the stuff brought out a cake with the words “happy anniversary”. They really read the detail of my booking as I did my booking this morning never expecting anything from this restaurant.
Thank you for make our day special!!!!!! We will definitely come back again!
Nice to have no music. Menu small but well presented and nicely cooked. Expensive relative to other options. Interesting that the Plateau Brazzerie was full whilst the Plateau had plenty of space!
Lovely time - great service and food / drinks were stunning. Best espresso Martini’s in town!
This was my first visit to Plateau, we booked this spontaneously and so pleased we did, the food, service ambience was simply fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates exceptional good food and excellent service
Lovely evening spent at Plateau on Wednesday 30th January, service and food were excellent and as with all good evenings the time just flew and it was almost closing time by the time we left.
Great views out to Canary Wharf, will certainly be back.
Amazing venue, great food, excellent view, friendly staff and the total cost wasn’t bad that either, would definitely go back again
Located on the fourth floor, Plateau restaurant offers views of the surrounding towers. The food is delicious with smooth service and smart dining room.
Great service, tasty food!
Decent food and very good value for money Lunch menu.
Plateau was on good form and the Evening Standard menu very good value. Pleasant, attentive staff.
Very reasonable price for food and drinks, and generally a very pleasant atmosphere.
Wonderful staff. Food was served on time and the variety was super
New Years Eve dining.
Food was delicious, couldn’t fault it or the service! Can’t recommend it enough.
Expensive as hell but...its better than a mcdonalds
Very nice and relaxed yet very professional service
My 3rd visit and unfortunately the service was really poor, hopefully it was just a bad day. The usual ambience of the previous visits was also missing. Possibly just because it was close to Christmas but really it should have been better.
Had a lovely experience as usual. The staff here are always amazingly welcome and friendly. Great ambience, great food and amazing views. Love the ever changing vegetarian menu too. The chestnut parfait dessert was like nothing I've tasted before!
Service was very kind and thoughtful. We got some good advice re food. The ambience is nice, a nice view over Canada Square. Food is simple and delicious. A nice place for evening dining.
Service was excellent but food was too highly priced for what we got ...example 3 small pieces of venison ( over cooked) for £25 ...not happy!
Romantic Night, this Restraunt is one of my favourites. Recommend the set menu, but to be honest all food and wine looks good. Expensive but it very good food and service, so worth it.
Bar staff really did not seem interested in getting on with working. Food was nice but insufficient. The staff could have made a better effort but really were not bothered.
My only criticism is the lack of English wines on the wine list and (not the restaurant's fault) some rather annoying children on the next table - surely parents can take them to MacDonald's and not ruin everyone else's evening!
Met a business contact for a midweek lunch. Excellent food - very well presented dishes and good value. Busy restaurant over lunch and restaurant emptied by 3pm. Due to location expect loads of business suits. Noise levels were fine for conversation. Staff very polite and well presented.
Food was average and service was poor, had the tasting menu for the 4th time at this place and it’s got worse every time (Honey menu was last last good experience). Service was slow and staff didn’t even explain what I was eating, took service charge off at the end as £20 wasn’t deserved. If I was to go again it would be Set menu only, as wouldn’t want to spend more than £30pp here. Finally opentable was out of sync so I had to pay more for a new menu.
The restaurant is well located with a view of Canary Wharf, we had the lunch menu which was good value for money and the food was excellent However, the only irritation was we ordered two Coke Zeros (cost £6) and we both got a small glass (max 200ml) filled with ice and some coke - we estimated we were paying at least £30 per litre which is appaling!!!!! You felt they were trying to make money on a soft drink - bad form.
Sadly the food was served lukewarm. Service was very good with the serving staff very attentive. Whilst the the food was adequate it was served at best lukewarm and in my view overly expensive.
