What Insiders Are Saying
Plateau is an upscale fine dining restaurant in Canada Place with a nice view over the main square and flawless modern French cuisine.
Bar staff really did not seem interested in getting on with working. Food was nice but insufficient. The staff could have made a better effort but really were not bothered.
My only criticism is the lack of English wines on the wine list and (not the restaurant's fault) some rather annoying children on the next table - surely parents can take them to MacDonald's and not ruin everyone else's evening!
Met a business contact for a midweek lunch. Excellent food - very well presented dishes and good value. Busy restaurant over lunch and restaurant emptied by 3pm. Due to location expect loads of business suits. Noise levels were fine for conversation. Staff very polite and well presented.
Food was average and service was poor, had the tasting menu for the 4th time at this place and it’s got worse every time (Honey menu was last last good experience). Service was slow and staff didn’t even explain what I was eating, took service charge off at the end as £20 wasn’t deserved. If I was to go again it would be Set menu only, as wouldn’t want to spend more than £30pp here. Finally opentable was out of sync so I had to pay more for a new menu.
The restaurant is well located with a view of Canary Wharf, we had the lunch menu which was good value for money and the food was excellent However, the only irritation was we ordered two Coke Zeros (cost £6) and we both got a small glass (max 200ml) filled with ice and some coke - we estimated we were paying at least £30 per litre which is appaling!!!!! You felt they were trying to make money on a soft drink - bad form.
Sadly the food was served lukewarm. Service was very good with the serving staff very attentive. Whilst the the food was adequate it was served at best lukewarm and in my view overly expensive.
Amazing food and fantastic service.
Great service and for as always. This is a great venue for a quiet business lunch or evening dinner.
Splendid.. definitely coming back again
Nice view, nice food
Absolutely the best meal this year. Food was absolutely stunning and we had fantastic time, team looked after us and I could not fault a thing! Some real gems in wine list too.
I have visited Plateau many times over the years and it has always been one of my favorites, but this visit was absolutely perfect.
Amazing service ... and OUTSTANDING food
The lamb was cooked to perfection
The views are stunning and also good services
Staff are very friendly and they know the menu very well so you wont get it wrong when making your orders.
Great food from start to finish with excellent waiting staff who really seemed to care that you had a good experience.
This is my favourite restaurant in London, the service is amazing, the staff are always so attentive and polite. The food is always delicious and the view is postcard worthy.
Provided a lovely experience as usual, as a Saturday night treat.
This was my second visit to Plateau and yet again, it was a wonderful experience.
Amazing food which was beautifully presented. Great venue and location with a lovely relaxed ambience. Attentative and friendly staff all added to making the evening a very enjoyable one.
Couldn't fault the service, ambience or view. We had the set menu which was pretty good. I've had better food for cheaper but the dining experience as a whole makes it worthwhile. I would definitely go back for special occasions.
The food was excellent. Staff were attentive to just the right degree. The ambience let the side down - I couldn't in all honesty recommend to a friend without a caveat. Heated by the evening sun the restaurant area was too warm and any air/con ineffective, the glare of the sun made it uncomfortable for those facing it. In addition, the restaurant area is 'bright' for sound, so a noisy party on a nearby table were very intrusive - one girl in particular had a laugh that was not funny in itself at all. Pity they couldn't have been seated in a side room. But none of that is the fault of the staff or within their ability to correct. The Bar and Grill area was quieter when we exited - we didn't dally and skipped dessert and coffee, but who is to say what you'd find on another evening? So overall - excellent food spoiled by other factors.
Great service beautiful surroundings
Great lunch at the Plateau, food was exceptional and the restaurant has beautiful floral displays at the moment. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Catch-up with friends. Went for 3-course menu with Bellini £30. Good food. Decent portion sizes. Excellent staff. Nice ambience.
Can't go wrong with the aset menu. Top 3 option in the wharf, no doubt.
They served me oxidised wine which is clearly unacceptable when I just asked for a glass
The restaurant is in need of refurbishment. The f&f were tired and not particularly clean. Food was mediocre and overall it was not great value in any way.
Another wonderful birthday meal - Plateau has never disappointed in all the years of visiting !
Great food but uncomfortable seating - trendy chairs too low forcing knees towards ears
Awesome views and food was great. Service was very attentive and the staff were friendly.
Great service and choice of flowers in the restaurant!
Has £25 lunch menu soup okay but chicken was not cooked through and the brouth it was served in had a very unsavoury taste. As it was a lunch with a business client is felt unabless to complain but would never return here.
My husband and I were disappointed with the menu and we thought that the meal could have been more enticing.
I took my cousin there as a treat for her birthday. We ordered from the special set menu and the food was delicious. Plus, they brought her out a lovely chocolate slice with a candle on it and the words, "Happy Birthday" written on the plate. I hadn't specifically asked for it, so it was a great surprise for the both of us and much appreciated.
Love this restaurant haven’t had a bad meal yet.
Great vibe in the bar area on a Saturday night for cocktails followed by a fabulous meal and friendly service - as always !
We casually decided to go for the £30 set menu including a drink as we fancied a little treat.
On arrival the tables weren't ready yet so we were encouraged for a drink at the bar. (Alas we couldn't have our included-drink there, we had to buy a separate drink). Cocktails were delicious!
On moving to the dining area, it is very stylish and comfortable with nice views of Canary Wharf.
The set menu was limited, but we ended having 3 decent courses with some side dishes, and a share of a carafe of wine.
Our £30 deal soon turned into £65 each, but it was a nice afternoon with nice service.
Pleasant dining experience.
A nice restaurant with good fun, but its not one you'll rave about.
Set menu is fine for a business lunch, decent choice and good value. No complaints from me!
Celebration dinner. We had a great time, Food was great though my venison was a bit chewy. Service was attentive and ambience was great.
Another lovely evening at the Plateau. It was a Friday evening so very lively and buzzy! Our food was delicious, small portions beautifully presented. The service was most attentive - never disappoints.
