An excellent all round dining experience from start to finish. I was very impressed. Many thanks.
A lovely brunch before going to a matinee at the theatre. A good range of food in the menu and a lovely ambience.
We went for lunch but they only had an all day brunch which was disappointing. The food was tasty but very small portions. Not great value. But a lovely setting.
Great ambiance, good food.
We love to go to the Great Northern Hotel for cocktails first. They do the best cosmopolitan in London. Afterwards we went upstairs for dinner at Plum & Split Milk. It was our first time here and were impressed. In particular the Summer set menu is really good value for money. We also ordered from the A la Carte menu and would really recommend the Cornish Squid and Eton Mess for dessert!
Overall a lovely experience and would return.
Amazing food for really good price. Our waitress was great and the free cocktail was a lovely added extra! Perfect location and lovely decor. Will be returning!
Unusual scallop starter with fennel. Lamb with caponata delicious with Pinot noir
Disappointed that the a la carte menu was not available when it is advertised on the website as available.
Very lovely. Will go back. Great service and atmosphere. Loved the food
Nice for brunch. Chilled, very attentive staff. Good location, unless anything going on outside the station.
Lovely birthday dinner for my friend who even got a birthday sweet treat at the end of the meal. I enjoyed all meal courses and the wines were also very good
Great food great service
Wonderful service, great food and very friendly ambience
Great place - and not busy so good for a breakfast meeting. A bit underwhelmed by the amount of salmon on my plate for +£14... but otherwise great experience
Well located and excellent spot for a business lunch/dinner
The food was far below average, extremely poor when you consider the price. I complained about my meal, the staff didn’t care. Very disappointing
Absolutely wonderful experience.
10/10 service, perfect food, excellent coffee and will certainly return when we come back to London 😊.
We have been several time to the P&SM and this time unfortunately was disappointing. Food was good but not really good as we have come to expect from the P&SM. Potentially something to do with the England Footie match that was starting while we had the reservation. Will obviously try again as it is a great venue.
Staff were all really friendly and helpful. It was a lovely quiet atmosphere which is what I was looking for and will be ideal for another occasion when I'm meeting friends and we want to be able to chat.
What happened to your cocktail list?
Use of iPads for menu is so impersonal and doesn't fit with rest of experience.
some of serving staff's English really isn't good enough for a restaurant of this quality
I go here alot and the lunchtime set menu was disappointing. Simply not enough food on the plate and I went home hungry.
Great breakfast. A lot of bacon on the full English!
Lovely decor and service but food a little expensive. No lunch menu at the moment.
Very disappointed that a la carte menu wasn’t available at 1pm on a Sunday. Wouldn’t have booked if we had been told this
So disappointing. Chips huge and Luke warm. Steak tough. Not going to return.
I love the ambiance of this space and the staff are attentive and friendly. They’ve recently updated their menu, their food is still delicious, but sadly they’ve lost many of their quintessentially British dishes which is a real shame as I have always enjoyed inviting international friends here for breakfast. This still remains a fantastic brunch spot and well worth a visit.
Really disappointing experience – the service staff were nice enough but the menu options were limited, the quality of the ingredients was poor, my girlfriend ordered a crab ravioli wherein the crab had gone off. I’ve had better music than this in fairly average pubs, whilst the ambience and decor is fantastic, the quality of the food just doesn’t match up. Add to this how expensive it is, I would never come here again, nor recommend it to anyone.
Lovely evening with a good selection of food. Sole was delicious
Amazing crab ravioli and bisque; followed by melt in the mouth pork. Absolutely delicious and a great way to prepare for a 4 hour train journey to Edinburgh!
Food was incredible, but a little over-priced for portion size.
Good food, good staff who really tried, overall really great.
Good food, attentive and speedy service,
Lovely atmosphere and exemplary service. I had the aubergine main which was delicious!
Small portions for the price, but very classy establishment. I was still hungry after my meal and two sides to be honest. The food quality was fantastic and they brought me a birthday dessert on the house with a note from the staff which was sweet!
Very disappointing. Not what it used to be. Thick cut chips with the steak were soggy, poor quality bread, Eton Mess very poor - tiny portion of dry meringue pieces, bit of cream and berries.
Excellent experience at Plum and Spilt milk loved the food all beautifully served presented and cooked service very good. It was rather quiet which we enjoyed very much having found it noisy pre pandemic
Met for breakfast with a prospective client... it was very quiet, maybe too quiet. We both opted for the granola, which was delicious.
Before Covid I dined here quite regularly and would meet with clients. Being in London with friends I decided to book a table for three. The host at the door was warm and friendly, sadly, that was not the case in the dining room. The hostess was much less cordial almost irritated by our presence.
Our request for cocktails was met with a flippant response to a request for a specific drink. When we asked for a steak to be well done it was met with "Well, that's going to take 40 minutes are you prepared to wait?" We asked why it would take such a long time her response "because it's well done." I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that has quoted that length of time for a standard steak. When I asked about the ingredients in the Spring Seasonal Herb Salad the response was "Spring Seasonal Herbs, they change every day" After staring at her because her response was incredulous "She then responded, I'll ask the chef" The entire vibe was off. One of our cocktails was sans alcohol. It became a laugh out loud experience. Other waiting staff virtually ignored us. I watched as one wiped every other table but ours. The menu was unexciting hence the steak orders. Funnily enough the steaks came quickly.
The service here leaves a lot to be desired, it's cold, unless you look a certain way, it seems. They've certainly lost my business and the friends I attended with said that they would never patronise this restaurant again. Most other restaurants are happy for the business and it shows because you can't get a booking in them, that so much of Plum + Spilt Milk was empty says a lot.
I wonder if the owner would have been happy with the cold and flippant way that we were spoken to. It didn't encourage us to spend anymore money than necessary to get a basic meal. In fact, one of my friends started looking for bookings for another restaurant. We so many restaurants struggling through this period you would have though they could have tried harder.
Overall a pleasant lunch. The service was exceptional as always, however the food was not to the standard I had previously experienced. The Lamb main was tough in places and the duck starter had gone cold by the time it had arrived. Other than that the gnocchi was very nice and the trout starter was delicious.
Welcoming atmosphere friendly staff and good wine & food. I would have preferred a more varied menu my friend was disappointed with the quality of the steak. However overall it was a pleasant experience and I can’t fault the wine list.
