Plum + Spilt Milk
The perfect place to meet, eat, work or relax in the heart of London's King's Cross St Pancras
A menu based on seasonal British ingredients cooked simply yet creatively, with new dishes including Mey Selections' beef croquettes with horseradish mayonnaise; pan-fried fillet of pollock with smoked bacon, peas and baby gem and creamed beetroot spelt, beetroot crisps and goat's curd. Sublime.
Plum + Spilt Milk keeps service turning from dawn through to midnight. Floor-to-ceiling windows and hand-blown glass light bulbs warm a restaurant and dining room in a class all of its own.

Slow service. Steak was tough and overcooked in areas. A beautiful restaurant with excellent location.
I’ve been before and it was very good. Today my scallops were barely warm. The beef quite well done ( they said it would be quite rare). Veg non descript. The potatoes looked as if they’d been peeled last week - rather grey looking and not appetising at all. I have to say the plum and spilt milk pud was lovely. Service not great considering the place was a quarter full which surprised me. Disappointed to the point I probably won’t go again I’m afraid.
I've eaten at Plum then nothing. After about 15 mins we caught the attention of a waitress and ordered glasses of champagne, which took a while to come; then had to catch attention again to order food, and yet again to order wine. Tiresome, because the staff were certainly not run off their feet!
The Plum + Spilt Milk is in a handy position, especially when you are meeting up with friends, and coming in from different areas. The food is always good, and I am forever tempted by the Full English, but they also have exciting vegetarian options.
Went with friends who had just had harassed 10 hour drive so needed something soothing. And this was - interesting and tasty tarty cocktails, menu good for veggies and the carnivores with imaginative presentation.
Only reason not 5 star all the way is that the service was slow (but very charming)
Excellent food and ambiance and pleasant service. Good value for fine dining.
Everything was outstanding, the chef and all the staff were fantastic. Food was divine and atmosphere classy and very welcoming. This is one of the top high quality places to have a business dinner, go on a unforgottable date, celebrate a special occasion, stop by for a great foodie experience when in town on your own, or go for a drink and the signature dessert that bears the same name as the restaurant..You will not regret!
Excellent, personal and fast service. Any company would be proud to employ these staff. Noticed management helped staff to keep up standard and timing. Highly recommended.
Not sure if this is just breakfast - but don’t be in a hurry. Every time I’ve eaten here, the food is VERY slow in coming out. Not ideal when you’ve got a train to catch. Yesterday was almost 40 minutes.
Birthday breakfast on Sunday morning was great. Good food and good choices on menu. What was brilliant here was the service. Staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. Surprise treat for my birthday was a real surprise- thank you!
I was really torn between given it a 4 and a 5... would probably give it a 4.5 if I could. The restaurant itself and the decor are lovely, really really nice place to have a relaxing meal. The food was lovely - some of us rated ours as amazing, some as very good. The staff were lovely with the exception of one slightly unfriendly one. Our waitress overheard us saying it was my husband's birthday and they kindly brought some chocolate truffles with a candle and a happy birthday message written on the plate, which was a very sweet gesture (and rather nice chocolate, may I add!).
All in all, we had a lovely evening and we'll be definitely going back.
Second visit and loved it again. Food is excellent, service great and a nice bar to enjoy Gin and tonics before dinner.
What’s not to like.
Excellent food and service.
Peaceful ambiance despite central location. Service was attentive. Plenty of space at the table. Interesting menu - we had starters and main and were then lured into puddings. Wine by carafe was good.
For me birthday brunch!
We had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and it wasn’t hot (hottest day of the year). I was even given some chocolates as a birthday gift and a card! Lovely service. Lovely food! Cocktail were pricy but I suppose it’s the area!
We will definitely be back. The staff are absolutely amazing; friendly, accommodating and the service is first class. This was a gem of a find in the heart of kings cross with delicious food, wine and ambience. It’s a quiet restaurant, beautiful setting and a haven in a bustling area.
Plum and Spilt Milk never disappoints. I eat there every time I’m in London because I know I will enjoy the meal. I’ve had the fish, the steak, and this last time, the scallops. I shared the scallops as an appetizer, but it was so good, I also ordered it as my entree. I never pass up the Plum and Spilt Milk for dessert!
Staff is always amazingly attentive and courteous. I just love this place and will keep coming back as long as the food and service stay consistent.
Really excellent restaurant. Very professional service. Just a little bit pricey but would still recommend it.
Nice ambiance and with interesting menu but food taste did not meet expectations on any dish. Service was average.
This is a really excellent place, and the food and wine were both delicious. The quantities are just about right, not large, not small, but the flavour is seriously good. Had my expenses been limitless I would perhaps had chosen differently, but even limiting myself -- ourselves -- we (two friends and I) ate very well indeed. We all had duck with ginger as a main course, and it was first class. My crab with avocado was lovely, and sadly no one had time for pudding. The service was friendly and first rate, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The way in is hard to find, but worth the effort.
Beautiful food, friendly staff. They were out of stock of our choice of wine, and steak, but our 2nd choice was wonderful anyway. Highly recommended.
Best Beef Welly in London! Thank you. Staff are always very friendly and we love returning on each visit.
Great place for business dinners/lunches. Stunning decor.
Fantastic food, professional and polite staff!
Perfect place for a breakfast get together. Food was perfect...good coffee & lovely staff. Will most definitely be visiting again.
Plum + Spilt Milk is one my favourite London spots that I frequent and I've never had a bad visit - until now. It's a very special place in terms of the feel of the place, the food and - usually - the customer service. However this week the customer service was really poor. Usually the staff are friendly, smiley, chatty and full of personality but this week, they were void of emotion and almost robotic with no smiles to be seen. It really made a difference to the enjoyment of the meal because you expect better when paying quite so much for a meal. At this moment in time I'm not 100% sure I'll be returning, which is a shame given its good track record before now.
The restaurant was fine. We called in the bar downstairs afterward. Staff couldn’t really have made us feel much less welcome. Overall bill for three people was towards £500. Expected more! Won’t be using again.
Great last minute find, and a food gem in Kings Cross. Attentive and very personable staff. Really enjoyed good quality food.
The food was absolutely horrific. After waiting 40 minutes for the food... a burger! We said to the waitress that the chicken isn’t he burger was non existent and she replied that’s how it comes. The Asian slaw was not saw it was dried up carrot and lettuce plonked on the side of a plate. The food was practically inedible and I was completely shocked by the food and the service. We will never return
All the food was delicious but the scallops deserve a special mention. Lovely restaurant a short walk from St. Pancras / Kings Cross so great location. Quite expensive but a real treat.
I booked a table for an early supper with my daughter. As the weather was so bad when I arrived at St Pancras I decided to go straight to the restaurant. I was welcomed warmly and had a cup of tea and a dessert in a bar area. i was very impressed by all the staff I met and by the whole ambience. The food and service in the restaurant was delicious and impeccable. A very comfortable and not too formal atmosphere with delicious, imaginative food is perfect for us. We will be back!
The food was excellent apart from the green salad which was old and had clear brown edges to the cut surfaces. It was returned to the kitchen whereupon a larger bowl was produced but of equally poor quality. Our delightful waiter dealt with it all brilliantly and reductions in the cost of our meal was readily forthcoming. It was just such a shame that the food that needed such care was excellent but a simple bowl of salad leaves was so shabbily produced. Having said that we will be back.
The location is perfect for a meal before a train journey as was my reason for dining here. The venue is very impressive and staff incredibly friendly and attentive. Food is stunning along with a very well chosen wine list. All in all will certainly become a regular!
Lovely place to catch up with friends
Nice place, food, ambience.
Nice staff. Friendly
The staff where nice and the setting is good. But the food was awful. The new potatoes where served in burnt butter , leaving a bad taste in mouth that took ages to dissipate. The rest of the food was very bland and over priced. I wish I had complained but I needed to leave.
Excellent beef Wellington. The wine list could have a better representation of red Burgundy.
Nice restaurant in good surroundings. Helpful staff. Thanks
We had a business breakfast. They have a varied breakfast menu, friendly and efficient staff in comfortable surroundings. We would go again.
Excellent service ,food and ambience.Highly recommend this restaurant.
