Have stayed a few times in the past - but never dined in plum and spilt milk - this visit was outstanding - will repeat it in future
I’ve deducted points for the “welcome” we got. We arrived slightly late (about 8 mins), which we’re definitely not in the habit of doing, and we apologised. But the reception we got: no smile, not even a hello. Just: “Ok but your late so you’ll have to order quickly.”
Yes we were a little late, we accept that, but still WELL within the grace period. If they didn’t want us there, just tell us our table has gone. Don’t so grudgingly take us to our table as though we’ve just ruined your whole week.
Despite not feeling at all welcome, they cooked up a decent steak and chips. And the Bloody Mary was superb. Also, all the other staff were excellent and courteous and speedy.
Shame about the welcome.
Outstanding food, excellent location and setting. Head waitress is incredibly stroppy for no apparent reason. Which is a shame because everything else at this place works really well.
A lovely setting, but for me personally, as a Sunday lunchtime the choice of food was very limited and less than I expected.
The food we did have was nice but the place was virtually empty so didn't have much atmosphere. This could be due to people still wary about venturing out due to Covid or it could usually be like this.
Will definitely try again in the future on another day
Nowhere near as good as it was before Marriott took over, food is poor effort they can’t make a good cocktail. To put it short, don’t go
Went for a late Saturday Brunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Liked the setting, champagne brunch is good value, friendly & efficient service. Lovely gesture of chocolates for the Birthday girl. Would go back again to try the the main menu on the weekdays.
Delicious food, friendly service. It was quiet so hard to judge on ambience but the decor is lovely
Definitely paying for the convenience of beings close to St Pancras, but the food is tasty, if not particularly diverse. As is perhaps to be expected from a hotel restaurant, it was quite empty.
A great place to set you up for a journey to the North. Great service, delicious food, a lovely place for a special treat
Amazing atmosphere, attentive service and lovely food
Very empty restaurant but service poor. No water, bread after the starter, grumpy waitress. Food was good but expected more for the money. Very average experience overall.
Very good service and excellent food/wine - on the list for a revisit
The best Bloody Mary we’ve had! Breakfast was superb!
Fabulous breakfast - not rushed, attentive service. Requests for particular preference of cooked egg done perfectly. Ambiance and style of restaurant made us all feel relaxed and special. Would definitely return for a lunch/dinner experience.
Delicious food, lovely ambience and excellent service. Loved it.
Lovely place, quiet and elegant. The staff was lovely and caring and helped me with a birthday surprise for my friend. The food was delicious but portions a little small for the price. Still, we had a lovely time!
The menu’s quite short but it covers all bases and the food is very tasty - not the cheapest night out but definitely worth it when you want to treat yourself. Impeccable service and great wine pairing recommendations
Disappointing. Food was average at best. Service was dismal. Simple things not done right.
Slow service despite not being full but when service is rendered they were quite attentive.
Many items missing off the menu, including drinks, staff very apologetic but no excuse for the experience
Lovely food, lovely staff, nice atmosphere, would recommend highly.
Lovely room , beautifully decorated and lit.
The staff were lovely but the service was a bit slow particularly given that there was hardly anyone in the restaurant.
The food was overpriced for what it was. You needed to pay for side dishes to go with most meals and the food certainly wasn't outstanding which would have reflected the price. Wine was very expensive and nothing outstanding. Watch the menu as they only price by the glass or carafe.
The sauce with my sole was supposed to have garlic in it, if it was there you couldn't even taste a hint of it. My partner had the squid risotto and the squid was a bit tough.
Some of my Jersey Royals (not sure they were) we not cooked properly.
Shame as the venue and location is really nice.
Sadly, I won't be returning.
The food was great, we really enjoyed the ribeye and burrata. They also gave us a lovely little plate of complimentary truffles for our anniversary. Highly recommend the signature cocktails: breakfast at Tiffany’s, lady violet and the message in a bottle. The service was great.
One small tip: if you’re not British and want water with dinner, ask for tap not still otherwise they’ll give you a bottle of water rather than a carafe and charge you £4.50 for it. Other than that A+.
Really nice place, lovely friendly staff
Fabulous food, service brilliant. Very attentive but not overly so.
Great breakfast selection.
Wonderful. Incredible food with knowledgable and attentive staff. A real treat.
Really enjoy going to this venue and pleased it has opened up. Staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about their offering.
Would have given it five stars but the portions need to be a little bigger and service a bit faster. Neither is really an issue as our party was talking so much we hardly noticed.
An excellent all round dining experience from start to finish. I was very impressed. Many thanks.
A lovely brunch before going to a matinee at the theatre. A good range of food in the menu and a lovely ambience.
We went for lunch but they only had an all day brunch which was disappointing. The food was tasty but very small portions. Not great value. But a lovely setting.
Great ambiance, good food.
We love to go to the Great Northern Hotel for cocktails first. They do the best cosmopolitan in London. Afterwards we went upstairs for dinner at Plum & Split Milk. It was our first time here and were impressed. In particular the Summer set menu is really good value for money. We also ordered from the A la Carte menu and would really recommend the Cornish Squid and Eton Mess for dessert!
Overall a lovely experience and would return.
Amazing food for really good price. Our waitress was great and the free cocktail was a lovely added extra! Perfect location and lovely decor. Will be returning!
Unusual scallop starter with fennel. Lamb with caponata delicious with Pinot noir
Disappointed that the a la carte menu was not available when it is advertised on the website as available.
Very lovely. Will go back. Great service and atmosphere. Loved the food
Nice for brunch. Chilled, very attentive staff. Good location, unless anything going on outside the station.
Lovely birthday dinner for my friend who even got a birthday sweet treat at the end of the meal. I enjoyed all meal courses and the wines were also very good
