Plum + Spilt Milk
The perfect place to meet, eat, work or relax in the heart of London's King's Cross St Pancras
A menu based on seasonal British ingredients cooked simply yet creatively, with new dishes including Mey Selections' beef croquettes with horseradish mayonnaise; pan-fried fillet of pollock with smoked bacon, peas and baby gem and creamed beetroot spelt, beetroot crisps and goat's curd. Sublime.
Plum + Spilt Milk keeps service turning from dawn through to midnight. Floor-to-ceiling windows and hand-blown glass light bulbs warm a restaurant and dining room in a class all of its own.

The service really was outstanding. Very friendly and highly professional
Had 2 courses of which 2 were excellent though by no means perfect.
The lobster salad starter was delicious and the lobster had been beautifully cooked although I was surprised at how much shell was left in the meat.
The main of pork loin with miso was also beautifully cooked although by the end it was starting to taste a little dry probably as there was no quite enough veg to go with it.
Dessert was an immense let down. The treacle tart tasted as though it had been acquired from a supermarket and the clotted cream ice cream tasted like a normal vanilla ice cream with some raspberry sauce. The port paring in the menu really didn’t work for me
Seemed there were loads of staff to cater for the full restaurant but service was just really slow and I never got the feeling anyone really wanted to serve me.
Excellent visit to Plum & Spilt Milk tonight. Food and service were excellent. They made an error with one of our meals and they put it right straight away - superb. Would definitely visit again.
Outstandingly fabulous. Thank you. Enjoyed a wonderful birthday breakfast.
Food was great, cocktails were excellent and we were very well looked after. Great birthday treat with girlfriends.
Unfussy but smart decor that could accommodate either a casual meal or something more special. Attentive, helpful staff with good knowledge of the menu and wine list. Extensive choice on the menu but not (as can sometimes be the case) at the expense of the quality - the food was good and interesting without being pretentious. Not especially cheap, but then this is central London. I would go back. Their breakfast and lunch menus looked great as well.
Lovely find on the doorstep of Kings Cross. Excellent food, service and ambiance and great value. Staff attentive without being obsequious. Would recommend this place to visitors to London as a great restaurant and I’ll certainly be returning. Loved it.
easy to dine in but can be noisy in the evening that we visited .
will come again
I still love the place but our last experience was a notch below, service was slow, usual cocktail was very diluted. food was dry and music was way too loud; maybe it s a one off, maybe it is a change in direction.
Great food and service.
Delicious breakfast with quick service. Good location.
Lovely restaurant located in a fantastic building adjacent to Kings Cross station. Excellent, professional and attentive staff who were knowledgable about the menu.
Food was good and some interesting menu choices.
Lovely restaurant, delicious food and great service. Thank you! Will go again.
This visit was disappointing. But let's start on a high. The Restaurant is lovely, the service was excellent. The table exactly what I requested. However the food was mediocre. The scallops bore a strong resemblance to queenies. If they had been served at Mark Sargeant's Rocksalt restaurant they would have been sent back to the kitchen as, also, they were overcooked. Then Rack of Spring Lamb, what can go wrong, nothing really beautifully cooked and presented; but just 2 pieces, where was the third ?
A real disappointment.
Nice venue and good vibe on a Sunday but service was a bit haphazard. Despite several tables being available we were seated at the least attractive option and told the others were reserved already. Only for other guests to arrive and be offered a choice of tables. We did then move to a better table so that was fine.
Waiting staff were friendly but overworked so took a while to take orders and tended to get distracted by other customers en-route to the table.
Strange that they only do a limted brunch menu and two roasts until 4pm on a Sunday. But nevertheless our roast pork dinners were good. Only criticism was that the crackling couldn’t be eaten as was too chewy and didn’t want to risk broken teeth! Pork itself was good and veg very nice. Good pudding and cocktails were good. Overall nice ambience and Venue and food was nice but more staff needed.
Will definitely be back again. Excellent location, food and ambience. Never felt rushed.
We went for a friends birthday and they pulled out all the stops. The food was delicious and the surrounding beautiful.
Excellent food and service - thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Staff were not that polite on arrival or throughout the experience. My sweetcorn fritter was average
We had the beef Wellington and it was perfect. All of the Desserts are amazing.
Plum and Spilt milk is always a favourite of mine. Went at 14.30 for late lunch and the service started well - but got a bit 'off peak' possibly as staff went off shift. When you are charging expensive prices then you need to make sure that you are on point all the time. I still highly recommend and will be back in the future.
Not quite what we were expecting. No atmosphere and food was not up to scratch. Our waitress was very helpful, but service a bit slow.
Arrived early and taken to table straight away. We had to wait for one member of the party who was delayed by weather. Waiter Daniel made sure we were all comfortable while we waited. We selected from the a la carte menu. Good range choice. Food was delicious and our waiter was excellent. Would definitely book again
The service here was wonderful and the food was very good; we had a great evening. It was 3 days after my wife's birthday, which the waiter discovered while chatting to us, and my wife was given a personally-signed birthday card and a plate of hand-made truffles. The food was extremely tasty: lots of flavour infused into everything. We will definitely be returning.
Dreadful sweet corn pancakes from the brunch menu. Avoid.
But this is still a lovely place for a meal.
Stunning place, attentive staff with a sense of humour, very interesting menu and delicious selection. Enjoyed the wine list and cocktails also. Great choice for a business dinner early evening - the place was packed by the time we left so would recommend reserving
I am not going to list what we ate. It was all good. We started with cocktails: my wife had her usual ‘Margarita’ which she judged excellent and I had a ‘Bloody Hell’ which ticked every box. The service could not have been bettered, it was attentive and well paced. The waitress was outstanding.
Not our first visit and definitely not our last.
The service from the very beginning to the very end was superb. It was my friends birthday and they made it a special occasion. The food was very good and the cocktails were amazing.
This was a business lunch. Had 2 courses - starter and main - well presented and tasty food
great waiting staff and fab food - weekday so not super busy . always good experience
Enjoyable evening. Music in the bar and restaurant was too high. It was hard to heard conversation of someone sitting opposite
The food was mind-blowing, the atmosphere quaint and perfectly balanced with extremely attentive and polite staff members. An amazing place to go, not only just for birthdays and events etc, but a restaurant with the ability to leave a long lasting positive memory. Very happy!
Really enjoyed the food and the location is beautiful.
It was very quiet but that may have been down to the time of day.
Would recommend a visit, great service and tidy restaurant venue.
When I spend good money at a supposedly reputable restaurant, I do expect the food to be top notch and, at the very least, better than I can do myself. Sadly this is NOT the case here!
The asparagus was overcooked ad tasteless, the so-called 'Hollandaise' sauce was nothing of the sort, a disgusting mix of old ingredients, the tomato and onion salad arrived with no onion (go figure, this tells you everything) and sent back, the mashed potato was not fresh and the sauteed potatoes tired and tasted of oil. As for the alleged Brill at £30.00 each, well the jury is out, I am not convinced it was....
Simply unacceptable and given the plethora of restaurants in and around Kings Cross, I fail to see any justification for the prices or given the poor quality, how it will survive. The sous-chef needs to get back to college or choose another career. This is a damning indictment of this restaurant!
The waitress was knowledgeable about the food including which were suitable as gluten free. The food was incredible and was a lovely treat.
Pre birthday celebration
Good atmosphere. Quiet setting was nice, especially given the location. Service was really slow. They weren't busy during our visit, maybe 6 to 8 other guests in dining room and we waited for 20 minutes for a cocktail. We weren't asked during our meal if we wanted another drink or needed anything further. The staff was friendly enough but just seemed totally disinterested in providing service. Good value for money.
Loved the interiors of the restaurant, better signage to the restaurant once you are inside the hotel doors would be helpful. Starter was beautiful, burrata was fresh and tomatoes full of flavour. Main was not as good, with board beans slightly overcooked and the dish a little bland. Overall a lovely experience though.
Atrocious. Scallops were not fresh and tasted horrid. Wines tired and cheap choices for carafes and glasses. Stay away
We booked here as it’s been a stable favourite of ours for many years - and this visit didn’t disappoint. Firstly the staff are wonderful - very helpful, friendly, and can’t do enough for you, and super relaxed which means a lot. Secondly the food is very very tasty, great portions - not too big, not too small and full of flavour. We had the set menu and everything was delicious! They spoilt our Mum for her birthday wonderfully, and even liked entertaining my 2 yr old nephew - they brought a baby cappuccino for him without even asking which was so lovely, and they were very accommodating when he wanted to go and explore! Overall another wonderful visit to this fabulous restaurant - and we shall definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff for making it (again!) such a wonderful experience.
