Plum + Spilt Milk
The perfect place to meet, eat, work or relax in the heart of London's King's Cross St Pancras
A menu based on seasonal British ingredients cooked simply yet creatively, with new dishes including Mey Selections' beef croquettes with horseradish mayonnaise; pan-fried fillet of pollock with smoked bacon, peas and baby gem and creamed beetroot spelt, beetroot crisps and goat's curd. Sublime.
Plum + Spilt Milk keeps service turning from dawn through to midnight. Floor-to-ceiling windows and hand-blown glass light bulbs warm a restaurant and dining room in a class all of its own.

Good food and great decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful when choosing dishes, although service was a touch slow given the restaurant was quiet at the time we visited. Would definitely recommend, particularly for special occasions.
Wonderful surroundings, food and service. It didn’t disappoint in any way. Thank you.
Great food, wine and service - what more could you wish for ?
Extremely smart surroundings give rise to an interesting menu. The squid risotto is a must....
Found this restaurant in a Google search and decided to give it a try. Dinner with a friend/business colleague. Good food, good service, and I think reasonable price (friend paid!). Can’t recommend it too highly. I will definitely go again. (Booking using Opentable was very efficient. Received email confirmation a few minutes after making the reservation online.)
Food, wine, cocktails, ambiance and service all outstanding. One of the best meals I have every had.
each occasion gets better and better.
Food and cocktails were absolute perfection! The chef and staff deserve a pay rise. Best meal I have ever had!!
Plum and spilt milk was recommended to me by a work colleague as I was in town travelling. When myself and my work friend arrived we were in awe of the decor and light features but unfortunately the meal itself wasn’t so brilliant. Coupled with a very dour waiter I wouldn’t be racing back!
What a gem of a place. So lucky to have found it.
Excellent food and wine and superb staff.
The beef Wellington was to die for!
A terrible meal;we opted for the duo of roast ( pork & beef ) ; meat was fine , although crackling on pork chewy , but the vegetables were disgusting - the roast potatoes were inedible, the vegetables dried up & the yorkshires tasted stale. Would not eat here again although stayed at the Great Northern & that was fine ( although did not try breakfast ).
A lovely brunch to celebrate a friends birthday. With a wonderful menu and then the surprise birthday plate, it really was a lovely meal.
Could not fault, staff very helpful and attentive, (but not over the top) food was exceptional. We were celebrating a birthday and we’re given glass of champagne when we were all seated and a celebration plate of truffles when the meal was finished.
Really terrific dining experience, especially the main courses: sea bream and rack of lamb with pea sauce. Excellent dinner.
Really good deserts. A couple of us had the lentil dish which was every average / basic.
No complaints on the other food though.
Amazing staff, lovely food. Would definitely go back
We were processed through our meal with huge speed and if they are seeking anything other than a fast food reputation they should think a bit more about how they deliver the food. The starters were very nice, however both mains were disappointing. Wouldn’t look to go back, I am afraid London offers far too many better options.
Terrific food, loved the atmosphere and decor, very attentive but relaxed staff - will definitely be back for more!
Lovely food, great service, and really convenient location - but why oh why are they still using plastic straws and stirrers in the drinks?
We had a really nice, leisurely meal and the staff were still attentive after 2 hours! The menu was pricier than I expected - around £30 for mains is quite punchy. Sides at £4.50 is also steep. But I liked the decor, atmosphere and the fact we could linger as long as we wanted. The sea bass was delicious but the John Dory fillets were very small and a tad overdone. The dark chocolate mousse was divine. I also liked the carafe options on the wine list.
Great looking restaurant and amazing staff! Food wasn’t the best I’ve had but then we did go for the £25 per 2 courses over lunch menu so fair enough. I’d defo go back.
Had a really great evening for our wedding anniversary. Fantastic food and wine. Service was relaxed but attentive and always there when needed. There was no rush and a good space between courses, not too long.
Amazing food - had the beef Wellington to share and it was incredible.
Great friendly service and wonderful atmosphere and decor.
Definitely be going back again!
Lovely food, good atmosphere but service was a bit lacking.
Loved the menu, lovely wine list and service was excellent. Highly recommend this if you want to be able to talk and enjoy a great meal that is in a beautiful setting.
For £200+ this is not worth it. The service took forever and the food is mediocre. Definitely do not get the poultry. Michelin Star worthy it is not
We went for my sisters birthday and it was so lovely. The food was excellent, the staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was really relaxed. Will definitely recommend!
Second time in two weeks I have used Plum and Spilt Milk for a business lunch. Excellent food and service but a little pricey. Great location to meet customers due to location near the main lines.
Excellent food, wine and service.
Have dined here several times.
Welcome was poor, disinterested and I had to get up and go for menus whilst in the bar.
We were not told the a la carte menu was not in place when we booked so this just left the limited brunch menu. Food was ok - Cauliflower hummus was god for what it was. Pork chop was small & very fatty, veg with ponzu sauce were flavourless. Burger average, fries over salty. Asparagus was good (as it should be in May) Hollandaise sauce not freshly made. I ordered sauté potatoes and got fried baby potatoes in their skins - these are not sauté. Dessert was good and coffee excellent.
Wine list good; excellent Provence rose for £35. Pre-lunch drinks expensive £12 for an Aperol spritz (just Aperol and soda) is ridiculous when Campari and Orange was only £9?
Service in the restaurant was friendly and helpful.
Perhaps it was a bad day but at £190 for 2 people who had a pork chop and burger for main course, it was very poor value for money. There are much better options in London which was perhaps why they only had 30 customers in for lunch.
Décor is great but food lacklustre, lacked skill in execution, lacked balance of flavour and poor seasoning.
Sunday roast was fabulous - very attentive service & I’d highly recommend the Sherry Cobbler after-meal tipple!
Just average food. Great G&T at the bar. Nice servers but they were too busy so service was slow and impersonal. Nice ambiance but really uncomfortable. Banquette seating and oval tables look cool but is uncomfortable and impractical. There were 4 if us. Oval table too big to sit across from each other and have a conversation. We all tried to sit in the banquette but some sections are the hard supports and it’s awkaward to have a conversation. You have to have your head turned all the time and those in the middle are swiveling back and forth like watching a tennis match. We moved to a traditional table. Better but table support was so large there was nowhere to put your feet. In the end average food, disappointing service, uncomfortable setting. Others may not be so bothered by it but I won’t go back. Sadly disappointed.
Hidden gem with friendly staff and great atmosphere but is pricey with no menu option
We had a fabulous experience. Our mains were delayed and we were given a free soup. Our waiter was the right level of attentive, polite but had a real personality. Very good. Only thing is that it could have had some lighter options - we were there for a lunch meeting and would have appreciated more salad options.
We had very pleasant evening meal here with friends. Lovely dining room , great decor, up on the second floor of the hotel, great lighting / booths. Food was fresh and flavoursome and cooked beautifully. Service was friendly and not invasive. We were left on the table for the whole evening from a 7:30pm booking, which is rare these days in London where second sittings are often the norm.
Only down-side is the toilets are in the basement 2 floors down (but though there are lifts) There is a cosy bar in the space next door.
Great Lunch, service very helpful and knowledgable, really enjoyed the experience. Thank you Tony
Fantastic flavours and beautiful presentation
Such a lovely calm atmosphere. Front of house staff are lovely and accommodating and the food is delicious.
Exceptionally friendly service and really good food.
Great decor, calm ambiance in the midst of busy Kings Cross, and truly fantastic service - friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Went for a Sunday roast, which was delicious overall although the vegetables were rather bland and poorly presented. The plum and spilt milk dessert was fantastic - a must order!
Took my mum out to brunch for her birthday, The food took rather long for what is was and when it arrived it tasted mediocre however the atmosphere and interior of the hotel is lovely.
