Plum + Spilt Milk Ratings and Reviews
We went on a Monday night in January for our anniversary meal, I picked a hotel restaurant as I wanted there to be some ambience, which I'm glad i did as it was about half full, so other restaurants may have been almost empty.
The service was absolutely brilliant, our waitress was the most attentive I have ever experienced and I can't fault her.
This is probably personal preference, but when I made the reservation on open table, it asked me for the reason of my booking, so I chose 'anniversary' from the drop down menu. This resulted in being congratulated on our anniversary about 4 times over the course of the meal, which I found a little bit much. We were given some truffles as a little treat which was a lovely touch. I don't know, maybe other people make a bigger deal of anniversaries than we do!?
The food was absolutely beautiful, I had the braised beef which was delicious, if a little rich, and my partner had a steak which was lovely, and cooked exactly as he had requested. I had the Plum and Split Milk dessert which was just perfect.
Our meal cost £125 inc service for 2 mains, 2 desserts, water, coffee and a carafe of wine.
I met friends for lunch at Plum and Spilt Milk to catch up and celebrate the Christmas season. The space is lovely and not too loud, even when full, as it was. It is a particularly good choice if someone is coming into Kings Cross from elsewhere to meet London friends or family at a reliably outstanding restaurant. The food never fails to be terrific, and the service is attentive, without being overbearing. We enjoyed fish soup, pork chop, and onion tart. The burrata salad had a bit too much burrata, for my taste, but you don't have to eat it all. I highly recommend Plum and Spilt Milk.
The restaurant is lovely, service is attentive and friendly and the food was excellent.
I'd recommend a booth if they have one free.
We shared a number of dishes from the brunch menu and they were all beautifully presented and delicious. The crab and avocado was a particular highlight.
Overall, the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere is upscale yet comfortable and relaxed. The bartenders are amazing, they take real pride in their cocktails which are delicious. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was clearly something going on as there was a delay in seating us, but the staff went out of the way to ensure that this didn't impact the enjoyment of the evening. This is definitely a keeper and we will certainly return when we are back in the area.
We had the air dried ham, rabbit, soup and mushrooms for starters; the cod, John Dory, pork chop and gnocchi for mains and iced peanut mousse, truffles and macaroons to finish. They were all faultless, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
Thank you. We had a lovely evening.
My sister and I visited the restaurant on Monday 13th November 17
The staff were charming and helpful.
The rabbit terrine was not to my taste and the staff were most accommodating and removed it from the bill.
I shall certainly recommend the Plum and Spilt Milk
Fantastic brunch choices - really enjoyable. The service was overall good, however the waiters did forget our orange juice despite being asked twice and the toast to go alongside the full english took around 5-10 minutes to arrive. We also asked for some sauces which arrived as we were three-quarters finished. Despite this, the quality of the food was excellent and it's a great place to go for brunch as it is bookable!
What a glamorous venue. Had my favourite circular corner banquette with the view over the vibrant kings cross. Such a grown up venue, love the lighting.
Three of us shared a starter of potted rabbit with lightly pickled vegetables and then the roasted Goodnargh chicken. Golden crispy skin, moist delicious meat, chunked up in to decent sized portions. It comes with roasted new potatoes, bread sauce and gravy. Add in a portion of cabbage for a balanced meal.
We finished with 4 densely umi chocolate truffles, with a hint of the obligatory salted caramel. Along with a bottle of my very favourite Billecart Salmon, this was a fun deliciously perfect dining experience. And good value at less than £70 a head.
My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary lunch. I cannot the food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this restaurant. We even got a complimentary chocolates and an anniversary card from the team which I thought was a nice touch.
