Plum + Spilt Milk
The perfect place to meet, eat, work or relax in the heart of London's King's Cross St Pancras
A menu based on seasonal British ingredients cooked simply yet creatively, with new dishes including Mey Selections' beef croquettes with horseradish mayonnaise; pan-fried fillet of pollock with smoked bacon, peas and baby gem and creamed beetroot spelt, beetroot crisps and goat's curd. Sublime.
Plum + Spilt Milk keeps service turning from dawn through to midnight. Floor-to-ceiling windows and hand-blown glass light bulbs warm a restaurant and dining room in a class all of its own.

Loved the interiors of the restaurant, better signage to the restaurant once you are inside the hotel doors would be helpful. Starter was beautiful, burrata was fresh and tomatoes full of flavour. Main was not as good, with board beans slightly overcooked and the dish a little bland. Overall a lovely experience though.
Atrocious. Scallops were not fresh and tasted horrid. Wines tired and cheap choices for carafes and glasses. Stay away
We booked here as it’s been a stable favourite of ours for many years - and this visit didn’t disappoint. Firstly the staff are wonderful - very helpful, friendly, and can’t do enough for you, and super relaxed which means a lot. Secondly the food is very very tasty, great portions - not too big, not too small and full of flavour. We had the set menu and everything was delicious! They spoilt our Mum for her birthday wonderfully, and even liked entertaining my 2 yr old nephew - they brought a baby cappuccino for him without even asking which was so lovely, and they were very accommodating when he wanted to go and explore! Overall another wonderful visit to this fabulous restaurant - and we shall definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff for making it (again!) such a wonderful experience.
My friend and I enjoyed a glass of champagne each with our beautiful starters, fish soup and lobster but we were really looking forward to our whole baked monkfish! It looked amazing when brought to the table and the waitress allowed us to get a picture before it was whisked away to be deboned. It was brought back on plates with the Isle of Wight asparagus but unfortunately we soon realised that the dish was cold and we both had a watery plate. I advised the waiter when our plates were cleared, especially as we were paying £75 for the fish. A few moments later we were brought complimentary champagne which we took through to the drawing room and even though we were too full for desert, the staff brought us a beautiful rice pudding and chocolate truffles again complimentary to make up for the main course. So the staff did a good job of turning things around for us and we appreciated the gestures and went home very full but smiling!
Food was delicious, service brilliant, attentive but not intrusive. Overall we had an amazing experience. Thank you.
Steak was slightly over cooked and replaced within minutes. Wine was corked and again replaced with 1 minute. Staff could not be more apologetic and speedy with the replacements. Overall the visit was fantastic and the staff were very attentive.
Food excellent but service extremely slow but lovely staff
The meal was lovely as was the setting. Not overly busy and a great place to meet, drink and eat in the heart of King’s Cross
Very attentive staff and great food! Friday lunchtime and it wasn’t very busy, which made it perfect for a long over due catch up over wonderful wine and a delightful menu!
Beautiful interior but appalling service and the food was a little disappointing
Lovely room and staff. Been before but this time the food was mediocre: under seasoned, dull. Expensive for a mediocre meal.
Great food and brilliant service from Daniel. Will come back soon.
The service, as always was superb, however we have noticed the trend of offering main courses without any accompliments. My partner ordered the skate wing, but had to order vegetables as an extra. The skate itself was £28 on its own. Does anyone sit at home and eat just a piece of fish? You have potatoes and other vegetables with it. The noise was another factor that wasn't pleasant. It was noisier than we had experienced previously.
Overall, the food was excellent, the cocktails were wonderful and the staff gracious and non intrusive.
After a disastrous lunch a few months ago which was very professionally resolved to make us want to go back, this time things went as it should be (bar the lack of Bacchus and Ribero del Duoro wine - a minor quibble). Food was up to what was expected and the alternative Rioja was better than expected. But the fact that the manager of the restaurant remembered the 'incident' of several months ago and even the wine we drank, more than made up for any shortcomings this time. This is how to run a restaurant.
Food and Service were both good, Menu a little limited ie if you want a salad they didn't have one on the Lunchtime Menu.
Setting is nice and to a high standard
The place was not busy at all yet the food was not terribly hot and the service was a bit slow.
The food was good though. Their special dessert was delicious!!!!
Food and service were fine. The special mother's day menu was eye-watering expensive. Just too much for what was essentially a Sunday roast.
Excellent food; service really good; all staff members very pleasant. Lovely ambiance. Will definitely go back!
We were travelling by train so it was a great location to meet friends. We had booked 5 weeks in advance and weren’t told there would only be a set menu available (it was Mother’s Day). The staff were very pleasant and in the bar the service was excellent. The dining room service was very slow but fortunately we had plenty of time (table was 1.15pm and at 4.40pm we were only just finishing the meal). All in all it was a pleasant experience.
Beautiful food, lovely service. All in all a great meal.
Mothering Sunday set menu had a choice for both meat eaters and vegetarians in our party. Despite the restaurant being at full capacity, throughout the afternoon the service was excellent, the food delicious and we had a wonderful afternoon. I can't wait to go back!
Absolutely superb lunch! Excellent location, beautiful decor & ambiance. The food is absolutely divine and flawlessly presented. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Cannot wait to go back!
Very good. Fantastic service.
Only downside was the a la carte menu wasn't available at lunch.
Great brunch and we were well looked after by the staff, special mention to Daniel, he was great and welcoming, made sure we were enjoying our meal.
The only thing was the tea cups were tiny. Ok for those having a pot of tea but if you were having coffee you have to keep ordering and this adds a significant amount to the bill.
Good food - lovely atmosphere and service. Too expensive for quality of food
Great service, had a train to catch a o they rushed order thru, definitely go back.
Very good for business meetings that's more than a Pret!
This was our 2nd time and I always valued this restaurant highly.
However, after the meal I had I had lots of tummy ache, couldn’t eat dinner and felt sick. I genuinely don’t know what caused it but I only had my meal in restaurant that day.
Moderate food, dilatory service - on a quiet night. Staff brought wrong wine, main course had to be asked for 40 minutes after the starter was cleared. No apology for that. Food was undistinguished. Was the "B" team on duty because it was a Monday night? Or is it always this complacent?
Had brunch with a friend on Sunday. All was lovely. But have to say somewhat overpriced.
The vegetarian brunch is 16 GBP for a bunch of spinach, 01 mushroom, some smashed avocado, beans (which i did not have) 02 eggs and some toast bread... presentation is extremely poor.
I was shocked to pay 16 GBP for such a poor dish and presentation.
Plus there are no smoothies / fresh juices like carrot, apple, ginger which are essential for a good brunch.
Location is good.
Plum + Spilt milk continues to be a favourite. Excellent and friendly service, great food, beautiful flatware - all the things which truly elevate dining. I love that this place isn't stuffy at all.
Great place with amazing interior and friendly staff. The food was really nice. The plum & split milk dessert is a must.
I have actually already sent an email, but haven't had anything back.
We waiting an insanely long time for our food (over an hour) which is ironic because we were probably the 2nd or 3rd table in. The duck arrived overcooked, and the skin was rubbery, the Broccilli was wilted and the well done steak, was little over M/R.
Excellent visit to The Plum & Spilt Milk. Great ambiance, lovely food and excellent service. What more could you ask for?? Would definitely visit again.
We both had a fantastic time celebrating my wifes birthday. Thank you for the complimentary champagne/chocs and lovely card signed by staff. It made our day very special. Food/staff/restaurant were faultless. Special thanks to Daniel our waiter for your kindness and attention to detail.
We will visit again and recommend you to our friends/family. Thank you again. Barry and Julie.
Should be more vegetarian and fish(non shellfish) options in todays world if healthy eating.
The food was good , but surprisingly the service was slow, particularly for the main course. The staff were very polite but we did get a bit agitated about the delay.
We had a great evening. Our waiter Dan was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and was full of personality which you rarely get in restaurants these days. He didn’t just rush off once he had taken our order and made us feel very welcome.
Only slight downside was being charged for extra gravy for our meal. We were in the bar and restaurant for three hours, spending quite a lot of money so you would expect something small like gravy to be non chargeable.
Excellent food and service .. great place for special occasions . Big thumbs up
