About Plum Valley
Located in the heart of London's bustling Chinatown district, Plum Valley is a sleek Cantonese restaurant that stands out along Gerrard Street for its minimalist style and smart wooden, slate and stone interior. Perfect for business lunches, pre-theatre meals and post-sightseeing snacks, Plum Valley Chinese restaurant is conveniently located near Piccadilly Circus and the West End without being touristy, and the restaurant boasts its own conference facilities well suited for private events and meetings. Dumpling lovers will go gaga for the scallop dumpling, whisker black cod roll, and we also recommend the pillowy cream custard bun, Mongolian fillet steak, and the grilled sea bass with ginger and spring onion. Or just take your waiter's advice and make a survey of the sublime dim sum or the excellent a la carte. Smart enough for dates, yet friendly to groups, Plum Valley is a great must-try restaurant in Chinatown.

Plum Valley Ratings and Reviews
This is my regular go-to for a taste of home :) The food in terms of taste and quality is consistent and excellent. Best part food comes quickly and is piping hot. Great variety on the menu. Service excellent - thank you Ching. The only downside if I was to be picky - 15 min wait for table in spite of having a confirmed reservation.
I love Plum Valley for being a western feel restaurant in China town which still serves authentic Chinese food. Like, I would happily take friends or family from out of town here knowing they would not feel like they have landed on Mars, vowing never to come back. The all-day dim sum is great (although that's not very authentic to be fair, but it would be a shame not to have that whatever time of day you're here). Miss the charm of the dimsum carts but for those that are not used to a real China town experience this is a good intro without the typical bright lighting and very unfriendly service in more traditional establishments. The wine list is also a cut above the rest with many wines by the glass.
This is the second time we have dined here. The ambience is lovely, with cosy banquets and contemporary decor. We were all particulary impressed with the time and patience the waiter took with my daughter who has to eat gluten free in carefully selecting dishes for her. The only improvement to this would have been if there was a menu available with the gluten free options because she dislikes having attention drawn to her condition.
All dishes we tried are of exceptional quality. We will certainly dine there again.
My partner and I were very impressed. The food was delicious. The service was very quick to begin with but took a very long time for our mains to come, however it did get busier. Would highly recommend to someone looking for somewhere to eat before making a trip to the theatre.
I love the new evening dim sum menu! It was even better because we got a nice corner table.
The new dim sum sheet has most of my favourite dishes, including steam wasabi prawn dumplings. Taste freshly made, don't think this type of fusion dumplings can be bought frozen. The fried rice noodle we ordered was also top mark. We left happy and very full.
We had a great lunch. Seems that the cook is new but he is just as good as the previous cook and that means the dim sum is just as excellent as before. There were some minor differences in the new menu but they were barely noticeable. Great service too, as usual
We tried the new evening dim sum menu, which replaced the usual square booklet menu. And the verdict is, although we like the fact there are different choices, we felt the quality of the dim sum was better before.
We never got thirsty with Plum Valley's prior this visit, but perhaps the new dim sum contains a bit more MSG? Hope not, as the lack of MSG is one main reason why we keep coming back.
Also, staff are friendly and helpful as always!
Plum Valley is one of my regulars and at the top of my recommendation list especially for vegetarians. Being Chinese and a vegetarian, I tend to steer away from chinese restaurants as I find I can cook (sometimes better) the veg dishes they have. However, I absolutely love Plum Valley veg dishes. My 2 top Veg dishes are the Egg Tofu and Aubergine/Mushroom hotpot (THE BEST!) and the Veg chicken (even meat eaters are pleasantly surprised by how delish these are!). Oh also the noodles with Shimeji mushroom is a hit. My friend was in town with wife, kids and in-laws and they loved it. The service is usually very good, but sometimes they're not as attentive. One time, my veg chicken dish came out when we were pretty much finished with the rice and other dishes. I would say this is on the pricier side of usual chinese reataurants, but it's worth paying for.
