Dumplings were superb, lovely restaurant and ambience. My only point of feedback is that our mains didn't come out at the same time so as we waited for our rice and meat dish, our vegetables got cold.
Fabulous venue, excellent food - friendly staff/family run
We really enjoyed our meal between the two performances of ‘Cursed Child’. Service was great and food really tasty - my son’s first opportunity to try Chinese good and he particularly enjoyed the dumplings, as did we.
Quite a stylush restaurant. We arrived early which didn't cause them a problem.
The staff were very professional and the dim sum were a lot better than most of the other Chinatown restaurants. Not quite as good as Hakkasan but still tremendously good.
Reasonably priced great food, professional and friendly staff and a good layout which meant that all tables have two bench seats with surrounds so no hassle from other customers walking past.
Would fully recommend the place and their food.
We really enjoyed the food but what let them down was not getting both our dinners out at the same time. Mine came first, I had to eat it or it would have been cold. Them my husband's food came. Can't fault the food. They did apologise.
Food was quite disappointing for the price. Some of it wasn’t hit enough and the wasabi prawns were really not nice at all. The beef noodle dish came with half the noodle content not actually cut into noodles so just a slab that was 2 inches wide.
Overall very disappointing as we had fond memories of the restaurant from about 5 years ago.
Really delicious food. Recommend the crispy duck salad and barbecue pork buns (char sui). I have a shellfish allergy and they made sure my dishes didn’t have any oyster sauce in them just in case. Great place to share a few dishes, all very yummy, and quiet enough for us to chat.
Would recommend to anyone. I took my family and of 5 for a meal before a show. It was perfect! Great food and perfect for three boys with their parents.
Not as nice as the homepage suggestes. Food is ok, large portions and a lot of fried heavy food.
Quite dirty and noisy, service could of been better
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Soho. Not the usual touristic stuff but each dish was presented with a pleasant and tasty twist. Very impressed.
Great menu to choose from and the set menu is really excellent value
You won’t get any service unless you arrived with your guest, the reservation system is totally ignored. If you are alone, just want to sit down first and wait for your friends to arrive, no one will serve you.
Very unimpressed to be honest. Shame really as we f see if our research and booked based on previous reviews.
Good was delicious but we waited nearly 2 hours for our main course. Staff were unable to provide mixed drinks as they said there was only one bar tender available. We enjoyed our evening but the delays to our food were very disappointing.
Had to wait a small amount of time for our booked table but apart from that fantastic top rated food and ambient location
Incredibly poor service at this restaurant. We ordered starters, I had to cancel mine as it had arrived 10 minutes after my wife had finished hers. I got no acknowledgment when I said to cancel it.
The main course was ok but again the service was abrupt to say the least
When we asked for bill it arrived at same time as waiter hovering over me with card device in front of my face with the amount typed in, obviously not wanting me to read the bill or have a chance to strike out the 12.5% service charge.
I’ve read other reviews with similar stories. If you decide to go don’t say you weren’t warned!
Delicious food traditionally presented, good and fast service. Different from other Soho restaurants which are overprices and serving average food for the tourist. Make sure you book in advance. Highly recommend!
Had a lovely meal here on Sunday evening, the food was excellent although the service was slow we were not in a hurry so it wasn't a problem for us.
Food was very good, delivered quickly to table though we struggled to get service for example to order a round of drinks. It very much felt like they want to get you fed quickly and out quickly.
disappointing unfortunately - noodles took 25 mins to come out, veggie spring rolls came out with prawn in. lack of ambience upstairs
Great service and really tasty food. My friend didn’t love her curry but I think she was just expecting something else - it still tasted nice. My Kung Po chicken with noodles was amazing!
Decent food with generous portions. Would go again
Service was ok
I was in there some years ago and it was great … hence going back …..
we had a reservation but the table wasn’t ready
When we hit it it there was rice on the seat from the last customer
The seat was dirty and torn
A chicken dish was dark meat instead of breast
The drinks order was wrong
I won’t go back
Service was fine but not great. The food was good.
The good was good enough, but the service was so bad we felt unwelcomed. The menu is huge but the waitress didn’t answer our questions politely, and just told us to say the number of the order we wanted.
Additionally we made reservation to 20:30 but only got seated 20:45 - not terrible but something to consider.
I have dined in Plum Valley over a number of years with different friends and it has never failed to satisfy. Whether dim sum or main courses the food is always excellent with the only issue being what to choose from an extensive menu. Love the subdued classy decor and seating arrangement which makes it easier to converse with your friends unlike many much noisier Chinese restaurants.
Great food let down by terrible service. We had ordered some drinks for the table. We had to enquire several times with different staff and no one seemed to go away and check. After receiving at least one drink we were told that one of the drinks was sold out. It would’ve been better if an alternative had been offered when we ordered initially. Courses came out in a random fashion. Overall I don’t think we could recommend to friends.
Good Food, goo service, lovely atmosphere
The food was so good! I loved the peking duck the skin was crunchy yet it melts in your mouth like butter. We ordered dimsum, mee goreng, crispy beef in mango and egg fried rice they were all delish! Totally worth it. 👌🏻
Lovely restaurant and food was just as tasty as I remember it !
This time we went with our young children who also had a fab time !
Excellent dim sum and busy so good atmosphere but still with good service… not cheap but ok price
The food was really nice and good value for money, we got a selection of dim sum to share and were surprised at how cheap it all was in total. However, the service was really lacking! We were never even spoken to by the staff when they came to bring out any of our food and were basically ignored until it came to time to pay.
This is a good option for dim sum due to the variety. In my opinion, standards are slightly better than at other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown.
Service incredibly poor and didn’t have half the food items we wanted. Don’t bother going, plenty of other decent restaurants in china town for the same/better price
We sat outside and enjoyed the nice street atmosphere, service was good and the food especially the dim sum were great
This is hands down one of the best restaurants I've eaten in outside China. We made a huge order and were very impressed with the quality of the food, the richness of flavours and the variety of especially vegetarian dishes & dim sum, even though we absolutely loved the fish and meat dishes that we had. I will take my Chinese family here when they come for a visit, and I've got a new cocktail favourite! Highly recommend.
The service took too long. We had to ask multiple times for the things we ordered. Granted it was a busy day but it kinda affected our overall experience
Lovely place to eat. Ever so helpful staff and delicious food!
Such a disappointment.
Food arrived cold and had to ask for multiple dishes to be sent back, the server then shockingly put her hand over the food to check the temperature and offered to reheat instead freshly prepared the dish again.
I had ordered dim sum and 20 minutes after the other dishes had arrived I asked for it to be cancelled. the server then proceeded to tell me I didn’t order it therefore it wasn’t in the kitchen - this was incorrect. I had to inform her that the mistake was on the previous server who took our order as the dim sum was the first menu item we ordered.
After the lacklustre experience, we asked for takeaway boxes and
The Lady didn’t even inform us that we had to PAY for takeaway boxes.
WORST PLACE to go in China town, AVOID AVOID AVOID.
