Plume at the Jefferson Hotel
Choose a cozy nook or a table by our inviting fireplace as you savor classic dishes crafted using traditional techniques and seasonal fine dining restaurant menus that are inspired by the harvest from Thomas Jefferson's kitchen gardens at Monticello.
First time in DC my boyfriend and I wanted to try a Michelin restaurant and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend Plume. We had a great dinner Thank you to the staff for going above and beyond!
Appetizers and desserts were outstanding. Cocktails were prepared table side which was pretty cool. For our entrees my girlfriend had the veal chop and I had the Alaskan Halibut. While the textures were great, somehow they were both extremely salty. When I talk about salty, it’s like every bite had to be followed by a sip of water SALTY! Service was really great. Overall I don’t think Plume deserves the Michelin Star. Disappointed.
Wonderful experience. Service and food were superb. A wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary.
Dining at the Plume was everything it was supposed to be - wonderful service, innovative excellent food preparation, and quality Champagne and wine.
My husband and I were very excited to try Plume on our trip to DC (we live in NYC). We had read great reviews, especially because it is a Michelin rated restaurant. However, from the beginning of our experience, our excitement quickly diminished. To start, the waiter kept forgetting what was on the menu, the staff was not attentive as you would find in fine dining restaurants (we had to ask for silverware) and the food was not impressive (the crab salad was fishy and there was nothing exciting that we tasted). We were honestly shocked that this restaurant received a Michelin star. We get better food at the restaurant down the street from our apartment in NYC than what we had at Plume. This was a $400 meal that we wished we had spent elsewhere...SAVE YOUR MONEY and go somewhere else as you will be very disappointed!
Phenomenal meal. Highlights were the truffle risotto and crab linguine.
The evening was perfect. Our tsble was in a quiet area and the service (waiter: Freddie) was excellent.
The food was superb. For the entree we had the lobster dish and the veal chop. Both were well prepared.
The evening could not have been better.
All dining should be like this: great food, great service. great ambiance........unfortunately, it is not!
Service was great, but I expected the food to be a bit better. Needed more seasoning.
Definitely not Michelin 1 star.
Overall it was a good experience. The only mishaps were the wait times on food. Nearly 2hrs and a half for the three course meal. And the dessert my partner was served was the wrong one only to find out after that the dessert he requested was not available instead of being told at the beginning.
This restaurant is in the Jefferson Hotel and is absolutely beautiful, although, in my opinion, too small for French Traditional Service. It seemed like the staff were bumping into each other, just because there were so many of them per table. However, they all did a wonderful job assuring we had a pleasant evening. The Maitre d originally wanted to sit us in the back by a waiters service station. When I told him, that wouldn’t do, he was more than accommodating and gave us another table.
That evening we got to pick from a prix fixe or a chefs tasting menu.
The food tasted as incredible as its presentation.
The would recommend to anyone. However, note: it is expensive and is formal dining with multiple courses If that is not an issue, Plume is a great place for a special occasions, or just to treat yourself.
Everything was nice, except the pricing, its over priced.
Hostess was pleasant but wait staff overall were not up to standard. Meat on multiple dishes was overcooked.
Amazing service. Subtle plays at texture and flavor. Well paced meal. Very good value on the food side. Amazing wine list.
Service and dining experience is fabulous for a special occasion.
Just an outstanding experience!!
Excellent service , excellent food. My wife and I had a wonderful experience at The Plume whilst on holiday in DC. Duck in particular was very tasty and the chocolate bar dessert was inventive and tasted great. We had the fixed price menu and a bottle of wine which came with a pre desert and amuse bouche. Overall we spent $380 which considering the quality of the experience was not over priced
Lovely service, beautiful setting, food was gorgeous. A special night.
Exceptional in every way - one of the best meals I have ever had!
It was wonderful
Took them 2 tries to get the steak right. And they still messed it up
Very decent. One star Michelin, maybe.
A wonderful dining experience. The service was outstanding from the time we were seated through presentment of the check. The pace of the courses was spot-on and the food had a variety of unique flavors paired with wine.
Fabulous meal - clearly Michelin star level
Great experience. Food and menu was very well thought out! Beautiful service and excellent food and drinks!
We didn't know it was a such a top restaurant with preset menus, but what an amazing experience!
The food and service were both out of this world! I highly recommend this restaurant!
This is a fantastic restaurant. I do recommend to the others.
Service and ambiance were high quality, though one person in our group was awkwardly served a course when no one else was eating. The wine selection was perfect for our tastes. Unfortunately, the food was very mediocre at best - surprising for a Michelin Star restaurant. We’ll return to the Quill for drinks, but will definitely not return to Plume.
Our family surprised us with a bottle of wine & there was a hand written note on the table to announce it. Everything was done perfectly and the staff was outstanding. They all wished us a happy anniversary. Even the menu and the dessert had a happy anniversary! Perfect restaurant for a special occasion!
For a 1 Michelin starred restaurant this was pretty disappointing. I had a dietary allergy to the amuse bouche so I got a small bowl of "chickpea puree" - essentially a ok hummus. My first course was a tomato dish, with cherry tomatoes in tomato water. It tasted just like the tomatoes I buy at the farmer's market, no extra flavors or anything to make it special. My entree (duck) was ok, but again nothing special. The dessert was nice. Overall I am pretty sure you could do better somewhere else. I would suggest avoiding this place if you can.
Food and service excellent.
We had a fantastic anniversary meal at Plume. I loved the pesto butter served with 3 styles of bread. The ambiance was lovely and our food was very excellent It was a lot of fun to see what was going to come out next. The pre appetizer and pre dessert were a great surprise.
Exquisite in every detail. Food as delicious as it is artistically presented. Service is impeccable. Wine list is extensive, but nicely arranged and very fairly priced. How could anyone give this restaurant anything other than 5 stars!
Me and my wife celebrated our birthday there. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was exellent, I look foward to taking not just my wife again but kids as well next time.
It was our 20th Anniversary and Christian took amazing care of us. From spot-on recommendations to the right amount of attentiveness, his service was outstanding. On top of that, the food was amazing. The portion sizes were "right," not too big, not too small. By the end of evening, we felt full but not stuffed. Pricey yes, but if you're looking for a very pleasant evening with an outstanding meal, I highly recommend Plume.
Fantastic dinner and cocktails. Highly recommend going
Excellent!!!! Environment, customer service, food, everything was awesome. It was one of my best experiences. Thanks
Celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at Plume! Lovely experience!
