Very pleasant lunch time visit with our granddaughter before the theatre. Seated immediately, attentive service, well cooked pasta and pizza.
The service was good. Some of the pasta portions are extremely tiny compared to the price you are paying (around 8 pieces of pasta!), therefore not value for money at all. The place was too noisy and dark. But overall, the food and service was decent.
Service was absolutely terrible. It took us 1.5 hr to get our main course. Our waiter was no where to be seen.
Nice enough but nothing particularly special. Nothing particularly good or bad.
Incredibly disappointing. Nothing inventive here, just going through the paces and picking up tourists like us in the process. not sure how they garner the reviews they do. There was nothing "wrong" with our food, it was all prepared adequately, served adequately...but for what it was, we could have done much, much better! I'm just disappointed to have wasted one meal in here, when we could have gone to a real artisan gem. Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk.
First time here but I will be back to explore the menu further. Safe choice, fun, busy, worthwhile place to eat.
We had a lovely diner during our stay in London. Friendly and good food. Even for children a nice menu.
Thank you for your good service.
Manja, Hans and Anne Mariska from Holland.
Services was good and this is a perfect joint for dinner after a day of shopping.
Two dishes: one heavy on the salt, the other bland. I had great expectations and was pretty let down. The ambience and the rest of it was fine, and the portions were considerably generous.
Met colleagues for a breakfast meeting - food was excellent and the place is bright and airy. Service was woeful especially as it was not particularly busy. Staff seemed both disinterested and distracted. Had to ask several times for items forgotten or not put through on the order.
Great location for a business meeting - breakfast or lunch. Good, friendly and attentive staff made you very welcome.
Food was spot on - straightforward and tasty
My two daughters and I visited Ponti's on A weekday evening. The staff were friendly and the food good value. ( we had the set menu) Close to Oxford Circus tube station
The restaurant, now out of business, has always been great.
However, this is the SECOND time a restaurant has not had my reservation even through Open Table sent me a confirmation and reminder. I will not be using Open Table again.
Such a lovely restaurant not far from Oxford Circus. Food was good and great value for a London venue. What we really enjoyed was the excellent service...I can highly recommend Ponti's.
We arrived early, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were going to the theatre afterwards and I'd mentioned that in my booking. The waiter made a point of asking us when we had to leave to ensure we weren't late.
The cocktails were excellent, and the food was fantastic. I had a delicious rosemary marinated chicken breast with roast vegetables, while the rest of the family had pizzas, which were large , thin and had lovely toppings. Desert was a warm chocolate brownie, again fantastic.
The atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy. Just an happy buzz in the room.
Excellent food and good service. Service charge indicates all goes to staff. No need to Tip
Forgot how many times been here, always good!
If you're bothered about getting your five a day make sure you order sides - as with many Italian restaurants the menu's quite carby. But very yummy! Olives sharing starter was fun; massive olives and beautifully presented. And the tuna pasta was utterly gorgeous. Service great too. Highly recommend.
I love this restaurant no matter how busy service is always with a smile and nothing too much trouble . Rare find near busy Oxford st and food is delicious - would highly recommend
Ponti's is on of my firm favourites! Always great serving great food. They never disappoint. The staff are friendly and attentive. Love this place.
Sandwiched between a visit to the Wallace Collection and the Bryan Ferry concert at the Palladium this was the meal we wanted and we got it. While not outstanding, the food was good and while busy, this place was not a noisy or cramped as some venues I could mention. Being only a stones throw from Oxford Circus Tube it was surprisingly inexpensive and though the wine was a little pricey it was served at the perfect temperature (I had red, my wife had white). What really stood out was the excellent service from all the staff with just the right balance between being attentive but not pushy. We were both made to feel very welcome and this is certainly the venue we will return to when we are next in the area.
Good breakfast... Would have liked to have some fruit too.
Great place to meet up anytime of the day. Conveniently located by Oxford Circus just off the high street. Great food and great service
Nice place to have lunch in the middle of the hectic Oxford Circus. The food was good and the ambience was quite relaxing. A good option for the busy centre
Great food. The service was really good too. They coped well with my list of allergies, and when one item was brought to the table too late, gave us 20% off all meals as an apology which was very fair. We will be returning.
This is my second visit to Pontis and i've had an enjoyable experience both times. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. The food is tasty with good portion sizes. Just love this place.
Nice food but excellent waiter, didn't have to wait to place an order. Twinkly Christmas lights made a great atmosphere. Can't believe its so close to the tube but in a quiet street so away from the bustle.
I suppose it's a perfect place for family or friends meetings.I spent really great time with my dad and I was happy that he liked it,as he came just for 3 days,so warm and friendly atmosphere makes you feel home and relax.Pasta and meat were tasty ,so I will be happy to recommend this place to my friends.
Forgot how many times been here, as usual, always nice!
Good, tasty food, excellent for pre theatre dinner.
I truly enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food of very good standards.
After all these years walking Oxford street to find this great place not far from Selfridges. Attentive staff and quick service. Thank you
Picked this restaurant as it had good reviews but I must say it fell well short. I don't usually have much complaint with restaurants but this didn't really reach my standards.
Firstly when ordering we were told there was no pizza available - a pretty fatal flaw for an Italian restaurant.
My girlfriend ordered a carbonara and said it was not very nice, it appeared that the egg had been scrambled.
I then ordered a vanilla cheesecake for dessert, which turned out to be lemon cheesecake, which I was not impressed with.
It then took me ages to get the bill.
All in all I was very underwhelmed. It is indeed fairly cheap for it's location, but I'm afraid I don't agree it offers good value.
All was good except several things.
So here I write down some several points which leave much to be desired.
- We asked if the kitchen was able to make Spaghetti aglio e olio but the staff just said that there's no such thing without checking anything from the kitchen - normally Italian restaurant accepts and makes aglio e olio even though it's not listed on the menu.
- We ordered one pizza to share and asked two small plates but the staff might forget to bring them.
- Bacons top of Carbonara were smaller than pictures of images on websites and they were a bit dry and quite salty (I know bacons are salty in general but they were really salty)
However, the foods were quite good in general.
Another lovely fresh pasta, good seafood and good wine. Staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome and I'm coming here more and more for less formal business meetings.
We all enjoyed a splendid meal at Ponti's after a theatre performance. We were all delighted with the quality of the food, it's presentation and charming waitress who served us. We would certainly recommend Ponti's and will be back!
We've been to Ponti's Kitchen quite a few times, excellent, good food, nice wine and friendly service. Just this time the service was bit slow. Will come back again.
Our experience was enhanced by your excellent waiter Christos
It was okay, some highs, some lows. Overall probably what you’d expect.
The waiter took quite a while (5-10 mins) after we sat down before asking if we wanted drinks (a cardinal sin in my book!) and took even longer (c. 20 mins) to bring the antipasti we ordered (just bread and olives). The olives were lovely though.
Things got much better when the supervisor/maître ‘d got involved. He very quickly brought a missing steak knife and some condiments when asked (and was very apologetic these hadn’t been brought earlier). He also provided complimentary fries for one of my companions.
Not a bad option if you’re in the area, but not worth a trip out of your way.
Surprised at how fresh the ingredients were so close to Oxford Circus. Lovely wine, friendly staff and the olives were superb! Highly recommend to anyone to take a break from shopping there. It's comfy, clean and nicely decked out.
