The food was good. The hygiene was appalling. There were two men serving in the dining area, which is very small, so you can see everything. One was a waiter, the other seemed to be a manager/waiter. Within a few minutes of being seated, I watched the waiter wipe his nose with his bare hand multiple times, and serve plates immediately after (you can see the plates be handed to him by the kitchen). He then proceeded to cough directly into his hand, again, just before serving plates. I was glad that it would be the manager serving our table. Then, I watched the manager cough STRONGLY into his hand multiple times... and he too, served plates directly afterward. (Who still coughs into their hands?) Then, to top it all off, the waiter went to the tablet on the front desk (everything is within feet of each other in this dining area) to pull something up on the screen... and (I kid you not) then sucked the tips of his fingers as if he had just finished some chicken wings and... you guessed it, came over to clear our table and touched everything including our silverware (placing it back on the table for our use). I would have been horrified pre-covid at what I watched here, let alone now. It's a shame, because the food was good and the manager was very personable and a good host. Just would not recommend that this is a safe place to eat.
A good BYOB Italian restaurant with great food and great wait staff. A short menu with surprisingly good variety.
We LOVED Porcini!! Recommend 10/10!! Food was amazing, just the right touch!
Always the best….I love everything & everybody about it. It’s my go-to favorite and I bring all my out-of-town friends there when they want a great Italian meal. And it never disappoints!
As always Dave and Steve never disappoint. Everything was excellent!
Always a pleasure!
A long-time regular at Porcini... it is a treasure.. excellent food, awesome care/service, and a small, intimate environment that makes you feel welcome. Best of all, is the amazing, skill-fully prepared, and absolutely delicious food.
Great food. BYOB Very friendly atmosphere
WOW what a hidden Gem. Some of the best Italian food in Philadelphia. Perfect for any occasion. My expectations were blown away. The staff went above and beyond to make us a perfect evening. I highly recommend.
Consistently great food and staff. Owners/chef give personal attention. We’ve been going there for years.
The food is always outstanding! And the friendly, personal service can’t be beat!
Porcini is our go to for a fabulous night! The food is always amazing and the service is top tier. I recommend Porcini to all of my friends.
Porcini is a Philly treasure…food, ambience, staff, atmosphere, service…a very special place!
Always a great meal. Steve and David are great and make you feel at home.
We have been going to Porcini for years, often to celebrate. Last time we came to celebrate our 50th. That night, we co-celebrated purely by chance with another couple celebrating their 52nd and a young woman celebrating her birthday. Such a joyous occasion!
First time visit. Will be going back with friends. Love the small dining room.
Not utensils were given. My date had to ask for a fork and he ate the appetizer with his hands.
Waiter was not friendly.
Great being back again!
Food and services was awesome I highly recommend it’s byob which We did not know other than that it was fabulous
Rude as f**k
Food was excellent. . the owner is there to get feedback and solve any complaints..He makes the dinner experience great.
I really liked our visit to Porcini for restaurant week! The staff was very inviting, and the food was amazing! I would definitely recommend. It is a cozy space so it can get a little loud, but it was still a very fun place with delicious food. Definitely recommended.
Excellent food and service!
Porcini s consistently wonderful. So glad to be back!
Loved loved loved the food and the service was incredible
The food was generally good but my Salmon came out raw and there was a strange piece of butter on the side of my appetizer plate. The staff were very friendly though.
First time dining out for my partner's birthday during Center City Restaurant Week. For $35.00 per person we thought to give it a try. Glad we did!
Delicious Italian food, fun ambiance, and the staff surprised the birthday boy with everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to him with a candled dessert.
Will definitely try Porcini again.
My new favorite spot in Philly! We liked it so much we made a reservation for the next week on the spot.
The food was delicious. Calamari appetizer and asparagus risotto were delicious as well as the fettuccini with shrimp and scallop special
Fantastic food great people
Great food with a homey feel. Friendly owner and staff. We very much enjoyed the food and the vibe .
My husband and I had the best Italian meal we have had since we have been back from Italy, 2 years ago! Not only was the food fabulous, we were able to sit for awhile and chat with the owner during our stay. He was so friendly and willing to take time to make us feel as if we were eating dinner at his home.
We would definitely return should we return to Philadelphia!
Thank you for the great experience!
My favorite hidden Italian gem in the City. We keep a condo in Philly so we can enjoy the great food in this city. Porcini is a BYOB which is fun. You’ll meet the owners each time you come. My brother-in-law, an old WOP, always gets the veal but a conisuer like me gets their traditional bolognese with a side of the garlic bread. Always our first stop.
The Houston Connection
Very good octopus appetizers. My mushroom pasta was very good. My husband’s bolenese not so good. Very friendly owner. We will be back.
Amazing amazing owner really enjoyable and quite
Great experience all around, food, service, desserts were amazing. DO be prepared that it is very loud tho.
It’s ok, just that
The menu on open table was not what the restaurant offered. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. The food we ordered was very well done. The staff and food turned what could have been a disaster into a very enjoyable evening.
Food was amazing and authentic. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming! We’re already making plans to go back!
