In particular the service was great, as a restaurateur I look for good service above all! The food was phenomenal and good value (catfish po-boy and the porky burger) - had a couple of really well-made cocktails too. Decor was cool, just wish we had come at a busier time as it was quite quiet! Overall really good meal. Thanks y'all!
Fab, been to the Camden and Southbank porkys, but this was the first time at this branch. Classic porkys quality.
Excellent burgers, fries and spicy chicken wings, kids loved the hot dogs, very enjoyable overall.
The Memphis ribs were very good and had a different texture due to the dry rub compared to the sticky glaze that most ribs come with at places such as the big easy. The pulled pork was tender and very nice, but the flavour palate was simple. The pit cue co. adds a lot of spices to their puled pork to give such a rich flavour and maybe it might have improved the pulled pork by adding something to it. Overall, very good quality BBQ food, and it wsn't too expensive at all. The cheesy corn bread was soooo good!
Unfortunately I thought it was a bit disappointing, I had read an article saying it was one of the best BBQ places around but I thought the food was a bit avaerage and they went for quantity over quality. It was also very quiet for a Friday night, maybe it's better for takeaway.
Great neighbourhood to have a restaurant if the crowds come. The long standing Sophie's is proof that crowds do go out.
Came here after a very long walk from central London and it didn't disappoint, we were there relatively early so the place was quiet when we first arrived but 45mins later and the place was packed out, had the starter platter and the main platter, food was cooked well and service was really good - well recommended and will be back!!!
I was looking forward to going to Porky's as their menu and photos online both made it look like was somewhere that would be right up my street. Sadly the food just didn't really deliver. We started with the pulled pork croquettes which didn't have much flavour at all and could have done with a lot more seasoning. Then for mains we both went for the porky burger. In all fairness the burger itself was good, a good cut of beef and cooked well but the bacon was limp and cold and the pulled pork as lacking in flavour as in the croquettes. The, what seemed like, shop bought frozen onion rings and luke-warm friies didn't help matters. All in all a nice place, with good staff but the food isn't going to make us come back anytime soon.
Ribs were v meaty and good (you have to put a bit of extra sauce on them though). Wouldn't order the cornbread again. BBQ wings excellent. Service was ok with long waits for drinks even though the place was half empty. Design very "East End" ( exposed brick and that sort). Loved the music they play
Porky's serves up the Memphis style dry rub ribs which is quite different from the wet ones which are a little more familiar to Londoners. It was good, though could be better if it fell away from the bone a little easier. Great service and attitude from the staff.
service wasn't great and it seemed staff didn't really know each other as know one really spoke. Had to ask for a menu after being sat for about 5 minutes.
To be fair the food was OK but not worth going back to. Be surprised if it lasts long.
Burgers were decent, a bit overcooked though. Sweet potato fries were quite expensive for the small portion. Overall it was good value, not sure if go back as I think there are better places but worth a visit if your close. Service was good and fast though we were the only people in at the time
Saw mixed reviews for this restaurant and was hoping for the good ones to be correct - unfortunately our ribs were very dry and bland and the restaurant was completely empty (no ambience at all!). Won't be returning, sorry!
Checked this new bbq out on Saturday, lovely place, amazing food with very large portions.
Loved the cocktail selection and the service was great to.
A great new addition to Fulham rd.
Will definetly be back!
