Portland Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely superb food. We had the tasting menu, the Cornish fish in particular was outstanding. It was beyond perfect, it was out of this world! My partner loved the trout, so full of flavour. The dessert featured granita, which was somewhat unexpected for a winter menu. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!!
Cozy restaurant, young team and nice atmosphere. The cuisine is creative, with new culinary sensations, all perfectly combined. The snacks were particularly appreciated, new looks and taste. The wines are particularly chosen and the desserts a must. I will highly recommend this place for anyone who is a gourmet open to culinary innovation.
Friendly staff! Une sans faute! Bravo!
We've been here a couple of times and really like this restaurant. The menu is interesting. The food is well presented and delicious. There is a good (and reasonably priced) wine list. The staff are always warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is pretty laid back.
Our a low key birthday celebration was made very special with a card from the staff, candle on the desert and an individual take away cake.
Great food and wine without the stiffness or poncing around that you'll find in many other "foodie" restaurants.
We went for the tasting menu and found it to be very delicious with a lot of creative dishes and interesting flavour combinations. The wine list was also very impressive and the service was particularly good with our waitor showing a passion in food/wine and being very helpful throughout without being overly attentive. Definitely recommend a visit for lunch or dinner!
Excellent - we had the tasting menu and everything was beautifully presented, seasonal and abve all really delicious. The staff were really friendly and answered specific questions i had (like where the flour for the sourdough was from). Top quality ingredients and also a delicious cocktail to start!
Best meal in London. We tried several spots noted by reviewers as being at a similar or high level of food, but Portland is leaps and bounds above the rest. Chicken skin crisp was an insane snack. Lamb was cooked perfectly. Strawberry dessert divine. Casual dress, warm and smart service. Deliciousness and well worth it.
As on previous occasions we had the tasting menu, a wonderful succession of delicious courses. There was an unusual feature, which was an alternative main course. We opted for it, but were not told that it carried a surcharge of £10. In a sense this did not matter, but we think this is not best practice. However, we had a lovely evening, service was charming, and we even got talking to the couple at the next table, which shows how jolly a place The Portland is.
Astonishingly beautiful food packed with flavour. Had peasant amuse-bouche and petit fours on the house. Didn't try wine but the wine list was carefully selected and full of character, with uncommon wines from Catalina and a Cab Franc from Niagara-on-the-lake! Coming back for sure
