Portland Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Amazing from start to finish. Great service from everyone and made my girlfriends birthday a very happy one with a few treats. Food was exceptional and the wine pairings perfect. Quite honestly already looking forward to coming back. Thank you to the whole team
Thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Portland and would definately return given the chance.
The tasting menu was beautifully prepared and surprising (douglas fir ice cream may be my new favourite thing in the world).
The matching cellar wines were a revelation. If you want to be surprised by classics as well as off the beaten track varietals, I would highly recommend this.
The staff were outstanding - knowledgeable and attentive taking the time to speak with me carefully about the wine and food.
What could you possibly say bad about this place? That it is a little bit small? That perhaps the tables could be a little further apart? That maybe it be a bit more 'designed'? That it could be moved a little nearer to a Tube station? But what would be the point? The consistent five-star rating is because it is a five-star restaurant in every regard. The menu is short, but choice is often overrated. The food is stunning and carefully explained by attentive and well-informed staff who knew the wine list inside out and understood good food/wine pairings. Nothing was too much trouble. We shared the last game pithivier and felt truly blessed. And I believe I have eaten the best salad that has ever been created. It was all delicious.
To be frank, we were a little surprised at the prices in that they were less than we thought they were going to be for a Michelin-starred restaurant, but I think that is a another reason why it was packed out and had a pleasant, buzzy vibe. And they don't charge for the water.
We'll be back and have already recommended.
Absolutely superb food. We had the tasting menu, the Cornish fish in particular was outstanding. It was beyond perfect, it was out of this world! My partner loved the trout, so full of flavour. The dessert featured granita, which was somewhat unexpected for a winter menu. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!!
Cozy restaurant, young team and nice atmosphere. The cuisine is creative, with new culinary sensations, all perfectly combined. The snacks were particularly appreciated, new looks and taste. The wines are particularly chosen and the desserts a must. I will highly recommend this place for anyone who is a gourmet open to culinary innovation.
Friendly staff! Une sans faute! Bravo!
