Primeur was fantastic, could not recommend more highly. Every element of the plates we chose were exceptional, and accompanied by beautiful wine and wonderful service, A+
Great service, relaxed atmosphere that has a local vibe with fine dining expertise in the kitchen. Seating is a mix of communal dining on a large table, or if you are a couple seated on stools at the kitchen / bar. Small and medium plates to suit your appetite and occasion and good wine by the glass, we'll definitely be back for more!
Great dinner as always at Primeur. Incredibly friendly staff. Amazing food. Really nice ambience. Highly recommended.
This is one of my all time favourite places to eat in the world ❤️❤️❤️
Heard good things about this place but was very disappointed by the food and price . Wouldn't recommend.
Lively with great food. Staff were excellent. The downside is that it is cosy. Sharing communal tables is fine...but you are quite close together.
A pleasant neighbourhood restaurant, with a good ambience. Service was friendly and fast, and we certainly felt welcomed. The excellent reviews and high prices had us expecting something very special. The food was good, and very good in places, but not quite enough to justify the high-end prices. We eat in quite a lot of nice restaurants and I've certainly had more exceptional small plates and tapas at a more reasonable cost. Each plate had us nodding agreeably and saying "yes, very nice" but nothing that really wowed, surpirsed or had us groaning with delight (like say, Morito does, every single time for example). A £16 small late of lamb and beans tasted like a very small portion of nice roast dinner, and a sardine and onion dish was tasty, but incredibly small and simple considering the £11 tag. I would probably go back and give it another go. I like the atmosphere and the food is....nice, but I hope next time the flavours are bigger and the menu more ambitious to justify the hefty bill.
food is too fat, too much oil and salt makes it impossible to eat
Some simply delicious dishes! Primeur never disappoints. Always torn as we are regulars at Westerns Laundry butbit is good to visit Primeur for their twist on food. Thank you!
Great place! Great vibe! Great food!
The food, particularly the hake, was sensational and our waiter, Caleb, was great.
The food was excellent. We had 4 different plates and were very tasty between 2 of us and probably should have had one more to thoroughly sate our appetite. We were given several small tastes of wine before we made our choice. The restaurant had a nice ambience and the staff helpful and friendly. Prices were just about right and I would visit again.
Excellent as usual, Primeur should get Michelin star
Love this restaurant, great surroundings and delicious food and wine.
Only thing is.... limited to only 3 options for veggies so left feeling hungry. Such as shame. Even if they just offered the meat accoutrements - such as the polenta - it would be much better.
We found this to be a charming restaurant in an unusual location with relaxed and friendly service. The plates were small, tapas style and generally excellent - albeit pricey. The only reasons I can't mark higher is that the wine was so disappointing. We tried 5 glasses of different wines - from £5 to £9 per glass and none of them would stand comparison with a £5 bottle from Sainsburys. Ordinarily no big deal but this place doesn't offer tea and coffee, it has a very limited menu of small plates that would go well with good wines so I for one expected more.
Nice, trendy decor if you don’t mind sharing table. Food is no more than pleasant but simple and homely and very overpriced with tapas portions priced as main course (eg £22 for a small piece of unremarkable fish with simple sauce). I left hungry! Wine is too expensive as soon as we go up the list.
The food was very good and the menu had an interesting mix. I did think for a foodie place they had poor options for my pregnant friend, offering only apple juice or water. There are so many options out there and for a foodie team I would have expected a bit more imagination there. Also, they sat us at the bar, despite being a group of three which is awkward at the best of times let alone seating a pregnant lady on a high stool. It was a shame as there were other tables available, so a great meal, but we hurried to leave and go somewhere more comfortable
Chose Primeur for a birthday meal for my boyfriend as he works in wine and their wine list looked interesting...we were very happy with everything from start to finish! Great wine , great food and great service too! Not a cheap night but definitely worth it.
The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening!
The food and service are excellent. The seating is bar stools and long communal tables which isn't my favourite arrangement but it's probably the most efficient use of the space. It's fun to watch the skilful chefs in the open kitchen.
Stunning food combinations made to look simple and fresh, served without fuss. A real masterpiece.
Come here regularly, always a pleasure. Ever changing menu means you can come over and over again and still enjoy it as much as the last time. Highly recommend
Such a gem of a restaurant! The staff made us feel comfortable and were very knowledgable. Really delicious natural food
Always love coming here for dinner and it never lets me down. Food is exceptional and wine is fantastic. Service is super friendly and informed. Perfect date night spot and for bigger meals with friends
Delicious food in a special setting
Made especially good by the wonderful and super friendly service
Chilled evening, great service, very tasty food dishes and great choice of wines. Definitely recommend and will most likely be back again (and again). A softer seat or cushion on the bar stool would have been even better.
Came here for the second time recently and in general the food, ambiance and service was good. However, I would prefer if the menu could cater a bit more for people who don't eat meat. I'm not in anyway suggesting that it becomes a vegetarian restaurant but would like to see a few more options on the menu as it was particularity meat heavy; If it wasn't for the fact that we eat fish occasionally, we wouldn't have been able to eat much at all.
Also, we had a dish of clams with crab which was incredible - but I'm slightly confused as to how another dish consisting of 4 pieces of asparagus with a bit of Parmesan actually cost more!?
Still, I do love this place because when its good its great, and the restaurant is amazing with a great atmosphere.
My second visit and the food was just as good. The menu, both food and wine, is short and is always changing so a good place to experiment. All the dishes are interesting, and made with fresh ingredients. The staff are great, and enjoy explaining and recommending options and the basics are all there(excellent bread, water, olive oil etc) which many places forget. It isn't cheap but is good value.
we came at Primeur on a Sunday for lunch, really nice atmosphere, not too noisy, bright, the decor is stunning and the food is excellent.
We had a great night sitting up at the counter watching the chefs. The menu was good and the food we had was really tasty. Especially the croquettes and the tart. Also a very good wine list and knowledgable staff on them to help choose the right glass. We will definitely be back.
Second time at Primeur, friendly service, lovely and interesting food - definitely recommend!
My third or fourth visit - I love the ambience, the food and the knowledgeable and charming staff - every time. It's fun! The food is nicely presented but not fussy - at every visit the most notable feature are the interesting and complex flavours. It's a bit on the pricy side for a neighbourhood restaurant, but generally justified. Every dish we had was fantastic and very flavourful, only the scallop (note singular) for £11 was simply a quickly seared big scallop and some peas as garnish. Uninteresting and very expensive for what it was. The waiter suggested we should take one dish each - luckily we didn't - one was enough. We had a 'natural' sparkling wine which was lovely and complemented the dishes beautifully. My go-to restaurant!
Fantastic food and drink as ever
Delicious food, interesting wine, great atmosphere and excellent service. Fab!
The food was good but very expensive bearing in mind the quantity and relative simplicity of the dishes. A single scallop for £11, Cow's curd on toast for £8/9 (as far as I can remember) is crazy for dishes so basically constructed, even if they were tasty.
The atmosphere was good, as was the service. I can't help but think that if it were on a busy high street with more immediate competition, it would be much more reasonably priced.
Fantastic food (but small plates for the price, although I think that is the point), staff could not have been more attentive and thoughtful. Loved the room and decoration, very elegant but simple and the only draw back was the intense noise as sound bounced off the walls and floor but also little that can be done about this (perhaps ceiling baffles or some rugs). That said I will definately be back and soon, all the way from west London!
Delicious and delightful, our third visit to Primeur (and first in a while) did not disappoint!
This is the second time we've been here (the first time was during our previous visit to London a year ago). It was excellent the first time, and even better now. We chose 5 plates to share between 2, the main ingredients being jamon, razor clams, gnocchi, raw courgettes and beef brisket, respectively. Everything on the menu looked enticing. Each plate was well conceived and executed - not fussy, but great flavour combinations. The opportunity to taste wines before buying was welcome, since they are often made from little-known grape varieties. Service is professional, and the value for money is excellent. Some may find the seating unsettling - either at the bar (where you can watch the food being prepared) or at large communal tables. If you treat it as part of the experience, and like well-cooked and imaginative food and interesting wines, then you will have a great meal.
Good food, wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere. Small sharing plates style. Would go back a lot!
We had a wonderful dinner at Primeur. The service was a bit slow to start with but they redeemed themselves throughout the evening
