Primeur Ratings and Reviews
We tried almost every small plate on the menu and they were all extremely tasty and not too rich. Even the bread that they served on arrival was great. I asked the waiter to choose a wine for me and he chose a fantastic one that I probably wouldn't have chosen. All in all I had a lovely evening. The only thing missing is coffee!
Primeur NEVER disappoint.
Food is seasonal, well sourced and genuinely tastes amazing, always with new plates and recipes to discover.
Staff is super friendly, yet not overly present.
The overall vibe of the restaurant is just great any day and anytime!
Would recommend it for all sorts of occasions.
Such a great place - warm, welcoming, stylish and fun with fantastic food. Everything we ate was special, the home-cured anchovies, the charcuterie, the fish, perfectly cooked and in a memorable not-too-rich sauce with chanterelles, the braised beef with horseradish mash (what a sensational dish) and finally a fluffy chocolate mousse full of flavour.
Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in London yet one of the least pretentious.
Sad they do not serve coffee! But nowhere is perfect.
Primeur is a brilliant restaurant - the food is bursting with flavour, freshness and texture. They have very talented chefs whose attention to detail is second to none. Beautiful presentation, lovely dinnerware and excellent service too. We love the organic, biodynamic and natural wine list. The staff are so knowledgeable and I recommend following their lead for new discoveries and sensations. The ambience is romantic with a dash of playful theatrics. A true gem in Highbury / Stoke Newington border.
A Son has moved into the area and we came here for a late Sunday lunch. We really enjoyed the food, consensus on the favourites that day were a delicious pumpkin with mushroom dish (£12); Braised cuttlefish on toast (£7) and the Venison (£21).
The idea is to eat tapas style, so we shared dishes. They seem to come in the order they are on the board, so smaller dishes first.
The prices on Sunday were from £7 to £12 for the smaller courses and about £21-24 for the larger dishes. The portions are not large, but the food is very good. Between 3 of us we had 6 dishes, 1 cheeseboard (£9) and too much wine!
The total bill was £192, with about £90 on the wine (3 carafes)
I was not that keen on the wine, but it gets great reviews from others. It is unfiltered, which gives it a strange smell, it is cloudy and is slightly effervescent. But that is my opinion! Wine is not cheap, cheapest bottle is about £40-45.
Service was lovely. We sat at the bar, watching the chefs..and thoroughly impressed by their cleaning standards at the end of service!
Great decor, great food, nice relaxing local restaurant!
A real gem- in a quiet area. Had a small get together with friends and ended up trying everything on the menu. It's like small plates (like tapas) and a daily changing menu- great for sharing so you can try everything! Surprisingly filling and not too expensive. I recommend booking ahead though. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Lovely wine selection too.
We loved it! Primeur offers fresh and very tasty dishes. There is an emphasis on the quality of ingredients. The staff are excellent and for a busy restaurant it runs really smoothly. The atmosphere is relaxed and completely unfussy. We will definitely be back.
