Princess Victoria, Kensington
No one to take us to the table. Long time wait to order food. Do not recommend.
Another trip advisor find-absolutely fantastic.
Very upscale with sleek decor. My companion commented that the drinks menu was a work of art, and I have to say, the cocktail I choose was the most beautifully presented I had ever seen and tasted as fantastic as it looked. The staff accommodated us (without reservations) so graciously. We were seated within 15 minutes but we were expecting a 1 hour wait. Food was excellent. Highly recommended.
It had a lot of good reviews, so we went with high expectations. The food was disappointing. I had a spiced seafood spaghetti, and there was absolutely no spice at all in the dish and only two prawns. Felt a bit cheated. Otherwise it was a nice place to eat.
This was a very pleasant surprise, I had friends to stay and I wanted something close by. The service was so friendly and helpful. Food very good and the atmosphere really nice, will definitely return.
A good friendly restaurant!
God food! But noisy!
I took my colleagues here for a meal after the event at Olympia. It was the best meal we have ever had and such good fun! We now wish all of our events landed on the first Friday of every month just so we can attend the wine and tapas night! Great fun, great food and great value! thank you :)
The tapas items were delicious and the service was great.
Very good food, excellent service, can really recommend this restaurant .
Lovely place to have tapas! They are authentic. The service and food are excellent. The waitress could not have been more helpful. Gracias! We will be back.
Very rude and uninterested staff.
We booked a table but when we got there they said they didn't take any bookings that day. Three tables were being attended to, the rest wasn't set up for dinner. Apparently they had a party upstairs which took all of their attention.
They told us we could sit wherever, also suggested we were in the wrong Princess Victoria because they didn't have our booking... even after showing them my booking confirmation...
They didn't seem to care we were there and weren't serving us. After 15 minutes we got up and left. They said 'thank you for coming'...
A place we will definitely never go back to!
Good food and nice place only downside was the table next to us was noisey. Enjoyed our evening and catered for our friend who is gluten intolerant.
Very nice place. Susie the manager was super nice and welcoming with all our requests. We easily booked a private dining room for a work group and had a great evening.
Food was good and atmosphere also was very pleasant.
Great food but be sure to get a table upstairs for food. Downstairs is very noise and crampted.
Overall- great service and great food
We were all in London for the Eagles game and this seemed like a good place for a group of 6 with different taste buds. It was a very good spot for friends and family with variety of tastes all good.
Très bonne nourriture et service agréable. Prix un peu élevé à mon goût.
We have eaten here before and we were 100% happy but on this visit the portions we less than half thr size than our previous visit but the prices were the same. We ordered from the tapas menu and we were very disapointed especially the crispy pork which wasn't crispy and also the "gambas" There were very few prawns and not very large as the name suggests. Finally a VERY expensive wine list. We ordered a bottle of sauvigion blanc but at £32 a bottle was honestly a rip off.
A bill of more than £80 for a few small plates + wine!!!
I'm sorry, we will not be visiting the Princess Victoria again and will not recommend it to our friends.
There are plenty of better tapas places which are much better value than here.
You live and learn.

PS: PLEASE ALSO DROP THE SERVICE CHARGE, IT SPOILS THE EVENING ADDING INSULT TO INJURY
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service during our meal. It was the choice of music which we know you can’t cater for everyone but it wasn’t great and the volume was extremely too much considering we were sat upstairs. We noted an acoustic guitar rather than an electric performance would have been much more suited to the size and atmospherics of the place.
But we absolutely loved the food and the staff 10/10 and will definitely be returning, thank you for a great meal.
The food was great, friendly staff and a lovely setting. They might want to consider some background music as it was too quiet, not really an atmosphere which was a shame! We were on a date but it didn’t feel special at all.
We were happily surprised with the quality of the food! When we walked in to the pub we were expecting pub food, but the tapas was really good and we had a lovely evening!
Food was salty. But the prices were good.
Stellar food, beautiful restaurant, and a really fair price!
The shrimp tapas was incredible. All the desserts were absolutely banging. The gin&tonics were on point. The wine was gr8.
Amazing! The owner took care of us and was extremely personable and tentative. Tapas style food was very tasty and we enjoyed the quaint setting. Bill was presented to our table in the most clever manner- a miniature shopping cart! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this London eatery!
On arrival the table was set and ready for us. We had a lovely reception from the front-of-house manager. The menus were just what we needed for light lunch or a starter/main course. The tapas dishes make for a good sharing starter whilst waiting for the main courses. The Eggs Andulasian were wonderful, off the breakfast menu.
Overall it suited us very well for lunch although it was surprisingly quiet on a Saturday.
I booked this restaurant as it is 5 mins walk from Kensington station and the design museum, and was described a gasto pub - tapas menu. The menu was varied, and allowed the 4 of us to select meal choices that suited our individual taste: tapas, and mains goats cheese salad, pork and beef burger -all good quality and reasonably priced. Amazing parsnips chips. Good wine menu and 'make your own' bloody Mary.
The Spanish waitress was really friendly and attentive. She encouraged my friend to test out her Spanish - which was welcomed!
Staffed by real Spanish people who unfortunately don't speak great English. Tiny tapas for massive prices. Tables very close together & ambience very noisy. Cheap wine served at very high prices. "Selection of bread & olives" = 6 slices of white baguette and a few olives for £6.50. 12.5% service charge is automatically added to the bill.
Excellent local bar/restaurant serving good quality food and a well selected wine list. Reasonably priced considering the location. Has something for everyone
All the other pubs and restaurants were fully booked but this place was completely empty! The heating wasn't on very high so we were cold and there was no atmosphere. The food was generally OK and the service was reasonable.
As a family of 6 Adults on a weekend break to London we looked for a place to eat within walking distance from our hotel. Booked it on line as had a good feedback and the menu suited us all .
I have visited this pub a few times with groups of friends and it never fails to deliver. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and there is a great selection of tapas.
We went to Princess Victoria for lunch and the service was very good. Very warm staff and food was good as well. our group of 5 (including a kid) all had a very nice, relaxed lunch and enjoyed the food.
Excellent food and excellent service in a really nice pub. The staff made us feel really welcome and it was a great place to wind down after a hard day sightseeing in London. I would recommend to anyone staying in the Earls Court area.
Not good food. Not great service. Only worth the time if you need to use their loo.
Advertised Restaurant ambience does not match reality. Environment --average pub.
Great spot in Kensington for an authentic Spanish tapas experience. The menu is extensive and fairly priced. The wine list offers something for every taste. Staff very friendly & attentive. A must do if you're in the area.
What a gem. A lovely place and so welcoming. Delicious food.
I was led to believe based on the reviews that the atmosphere was suitable for a romantic date, but when we arrived on the Friday evening, the upstairs section was fully booked and our table was right next to the main door, in the bar area, so it was very noisy. This should perhaps have been mentioned before the booking.
The food was very good, so the atmosphere that night ruined it.
We happened to turn up for a drink on a different evening, and the place was much more suited to a date. Which made the disappointment of the Friday evening starker (and I'm sure only happened because of the complete booking of the upstairs venue).
Poorly organised on the restaurant's front, in my opinion. So anyone reading this review, perhaps check where you'll be seated, if you want a romantic night.
I had booked a table for a special occasion for a friday night in the restaurant upstairs at Princess Victoria in Kensington, and found the restaurant closed when we arrived. A rather unfriendly staff member told us that the restaurant was closed and that it was only the bar downstais that was open. As I had done research online in advance to find a nice place to eat and found Princess Victoria to look very inviting by the pictures on the website, this was a great disappointment. The bar downstairs was extremely noisy and the tables were not very cosy to dine at. Because of this we chose to go somewhere else. We found a fantastic restaurant in the main street where we spent the evening instead.
