Only six minutes away from the Kew Botanic Gardens, Q Verde is a popular Mediterranean restaurant on Sandycombe Road that has a delightful villagey vibe. Food lovers flock to Q Verde for the wholesome menus and outstanding service, and this family-run restaurant genuinely makes you feel at home the moment you step inside the door. We love the terra cotta coloured walls, black board menus and the general rustic ambience, and the moreish menu is filled with temptations such as the fried chorizo sausage served with crispy rosti potatoes for starters, the fillet of pork with caramelized apples and a marsala jus for mains, and the traditional tiramasu for dessert.

Typical small Italian restaurant.

Food was ok but not outstanding. Portions were small.

Wine list was expensive.

Very friendly staff.

12.5% service charge seemed steep!

Won't be going back.

Q Verde is one of my local restaurants but unfortunately completely failed me this time. Ok the food was nice but the service was really bad. The waitress by accident knocked our bottle of red over, which luckily didn't get on my clothes but we probably lost a glass of red. She was very apologetic but she completely missed my comment when I said "so you are bringing a new bottle of red then". Didn't get a new bottle but also nothing else was offered as a small compensation - no dessert on the house - no discount on the bill. I should have said something more but was just really disappointed that this was not a natural thing for the restaurant to make a small compensation for their mistake. Not feeling like going back anytime soon.

Authentic Italian restaurant, with a fantastic Menu, friendly and attentive service, and excellent quality food.
We were a party of 5, made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived.
As well as the a la carte menu and specials we were offered a selection of Italian Anti Pasta which we went for. When this arrived it was a huge bowl of cured meats, calamari, king prawns, mozzarella, tomatoes, grilled aubergine and courgette slices accompanied by fresh bread. Very tasty and an excellent sharing starter.
Our party ordered some Fresh Pasta, the Fillet of Cod with Garlic, Olives, Oregano, White Wine & Tomato Sauce and 3 servings of Prime Calves Liver, Pan Fried with Butter & Sage - accompanied with a selection of side dishes. All of us were thoroughly pleased with what we had ordered.
For wine we chose the house red, and were more than happy with it and had to order a second bottle as the first was gone during the starter.
For desert most of us ordered the Tiramisu which was lovely.
After we paid the bill we were all offered a complementary after dinner drink, which was a nice touch.
Thoroughly recommended for anyone that enjoys Italian, and somewhere that I would certainly return to if I was in the area.

One of the best italian food I've had. Great service. Went out of their way to find me a white wine to my taste. A bit pricey, quality at a cost.

We had a very pleasant sunday lunch at this nice small restaurant. Excellent interesting Italian food and a deligtful family enviorment. They let the two of us sit at a table for four as the restaurant was not too busy. A good find and we shall go back.

We were a party of six who went here after seeing the Christmas lights at Kew Gardens. We did not all arrive at the same time but could not have been better looked after. We all agreed the dishes we had were delicious and there was a nice atmosphere. The prices were good as well. We just wished it was a bit nearer to us but we definitely will return as we had such a great time there.

For a suburban restaurant we found it very expensive. We felt our bill for four with only two glasses of wine, no dessert and three coffees was exorbitant for a pleasant but not exceptional meal. A bowl of soup was £7.50! A pasta starter with truffle sauce was £9.50. I had the prawn risotto which was one of the less expensive choices on the menu. I had asked when ordering if the prawns were fresh and not frozen and were assured that they were. This was not the case! Also, I find it irritating when different serving staff keep coming over throughout the evening to ask if your meal is alright. Had we not been with friends I would have complained about the risotto. We have eaten better - and for less - in central London!

I booked this as it is so convenient for Kew Gardens - the first time we have tried it. Four of us went to the Christmas evening light show and had a meal at Q Verde afterwards. It was like stepping back to an Italian trattoria in London in the 1970s - but in a GOOD WAY. Plenty of menu choice and the food was great. Our friends said they had had a lovely evening, we sat talking and never felt pressure by the staff to move on.

Food is excellent, tasty Italian cuisine and there is a good choice of specials. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. Recommend.

our first trip was for my partners 38th birthday. he's a huge foodie and loves Italian cuisine. no, i wasn't going to fly him to italy just for the food this year so i did my research for a down to earth, authentic restaurant. we were VERY impressed with the starters and main pasta dishes. we'll be back there for sure. the staff were excellent and the manager (older gentleman) was super cute and attentive making us laugh at every opportunity. meal was finished off with a free shot of limoncello which is always the 'cherry on top' of an authentic italian dining experience. thanks team for making my partners birthday super special.
