Quaglino's has been the star of St James's since it opened all the way back in 1929. It has hosted royalty, nobility and famously got a nod in Absolutely Fabulous, but it's not all style over substance, this is a class act.
If you take a trip down that iconic staircase you'll find exceptional food, wonderful wines and one of the capital's most decadent restaurant interiors.

Having lovely evening until I asked for an extra couple of crackers for two of us as we had cheese for desert but the crackers ran out before the cheese.

The waiter very rudely gave me a lecture in front of my friends saying that this is a single portion and not a sharing platter and basically I should have divided the cheese portion with more though!

Oh well he lost his £40 tip as I was so enraged and embarrassed we took it off the bill.

My wife and I dined here on a Wednesday night and tried the prix fixe menu. The ambiance was Art Deco modern, dark and sophisticated. The food was excellent and beautifully presented given the price point. Service was quick and friendly. There was also great live R&B/ Soul band. The volume was perfect as I could still speak with my wife without shouting. Would recommend / return.

Enjoyed the food and drink again but felt we were be rushed too much. Despite buying drinks from the bar first we were being hurried to order our food and wine. We did run over by nearly 10 mins though! A group of 7 needs a 3 hour slot really.

My 2nd time this Month at this Lively Restaurant and this time with my wife. This restaurant never disappoints, the staff and always attentive, the ambience is 1st class and the food never fails. I can only continue to praise this restaurant and will probably go again with with some friends who have never been so they can experience what i have already.

I had not been to Quaglino’s since before it’s transformation a few years ago. I was delighted to see that is just as pleasant a place in its new incarnation. Rather than the stark, minimalist decor of days past, the place has a more finished and opulent look now, while still having some of the most amazing interiors sight-lines one could ask for. The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful, and the crowd a mix of the young and chic and older people happy in their own skins.

But the food is what matters, and it was excellent on every count. The dishes are creative without being self-congratulatory, and there is something for every taste.

Couldn’t rate this place anymore if we tried. We came for our joint birthday meal and it was everything we’d expected and more. Great food and value for the ‘ 3 course and glass of bubbles for £33’ the waitresses were very attnetative and couldn’t have been nicer.
We are planning another trip back in summer with friends to enjoy a later reservation with the band!
Thanks for such a wonderful evening, highly recommend!

Absolutely loved it! We were rushed due to transport issues and theatre date but service of excellent as they totally understood our dilemma. Food was superb and looked amazing on the plates. We both had seafood which was fresh, tasty and tasted as good as it looked. It was our wedding anniversary and so glad we chose here. Sure it would be brilliant later in the evening when all the tables full - music on a small stage at 9pm we were told which would be worth seeing.

Quaglinos's certainly catches the eye and deserving of its' "Iconic" status.
The decor and interior construction is unique and exciting, has a strong art-deco feel.
The food was very good overall, although my beef tartare was a bit chewy. The chocolate fondant was delicious and my main course of guinea fowl was cooked beatifully..
The drinks are pricey but no more expensive than many other restaurants of this quality.
I shall return.

I hadn't been to Quaglinos for a while and took a house guest there for an evening out. It's gone downhill. We ordered drinks to start with, my G&T came with the tonic already poured and it was difficult to taste any Gin. The 'music' was very loud which made conversation difficult. Service was impeccable, food portions quite stingy and again conversation at the table quite impossible. Overall disappointed with the evening due to the excessive noise and I won't be returning.

So back to Quaglino’s after a two year break. We enjoyed very good service throughout, attentive and unobtrusive. From the start a good welcome, very friendly staff. The food was of high quality, albeit rather small portions. We both enjoyed a velute, and I had sea bream whilst my companion had rump of lamb. All accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine. The plus point, although a rather minor one, was unlimited tasty bread. We will definitely return!

We dined on a Wednesday lunchtime. The restaurant was deserted....only 5 tables taken in a huge restaurant. I assume they don’t really want lunchtime diners....it feels more like an evening venue.....food was adequate....service slow.....I remember Quaglinos when it was a hugely successful brasserie packed day and night. You would be much better off dining at the Wolsey....the Ivy or Langhams.

Excellent food and service. In fact, service was impeccable. Very accommodating. I’d booked a table but due to delays with trains, arrived late and set menu had finished. However, the restaurant were very good and we ordered the 2 course set menu. Excellent value - food delicious, service was fantastic. What a lovely, lively, smart place. Well done and I’d certainly recommend it to my friends.

Quaglinos is a very popular restaurant and this was again proven on our visit early Saturday evening where many tables were taken. This time we opted for the 3 course set menu which came with a glass of sparking wine. We each had a different main course - lamb, sea bream and guinea fowl and all were well cooked and tasty. For dessert the chocolate dessert was classed as delicious and this was from 2 knowledgeable chocolate fans. The staff as ever were very efficient and welcoming - all in all this remains one of our favourite restaurants.
The only slight downside was the Club D + D offering was uninspiring!
