A lovely roast cooked well. Service is excellent and staff very helpful.
We were really looking forward to eating at the Queens Arms as the reviews have been really good and we knew you had to book in advance as it is really popular. We were seated in the main part of the pub which is quite lively on a Saturday night..next time I would request a table in the area nearer the garden, and book an earlier time. The service started off ok, our waitress seemed friendly enough but a couple of dishes on the main menu were already off, always a bit disappointing. There were a couple of specials but no vegetarian specials which was a shame. The food came pretty quickly and the waitress topped up our water without being asked which was great. The wine was also good. However, after our plates had been cleared by another waitress, we were then pretty much left alone and had to ask for the bill, no effort was made to ask us if we would like puddings or coffee, which we may well have ordered, or to let us know if we did want to order then the kitchen would be closing after a certain time..
AS it was a friends birthday evening out, I did not want to make a fuss, but I did let the management know and explained how the service seemed to really tail off after our mains were cleared and they had missed out on a pudding order. All in all, for a gastropub it is a good place to eat, but I would not choose it again as we have had better, friendlier attentive service at another pub nearby and maybe Eat 17 or the Village Kitchen would have been better choices for a special birthday. Shame, we were disappointed as the actual pub building is amazing. Will stick to drinking there next time.
Great pub! Delish food, lovely staff and great atmosphere. They were super patient with my naughty pooch too!
ALWAYS exceptional food! Staff are fantastic and its always a great atmosphere. Sometimes very kid heavy which can be annoying but overall a fantastic pub!
Good pub, good food. Would definitely eat there again
Slightly smaller portions than usual, this may be due to it being a busy day, Fathers Day. But overall really lovely. They even let us stay at the table for longer as the next booking wasn't for a while after.
Great food, great service, cannot recommend their Sunday roasts enough.
Good atmosphere, great food. Dog-friendly and child friendly. Good range of beers and the roasts were very nice and were served quickly
Great service and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back!
Lovely service. The staff are really experienced. It’s a great place in the village. Lovely garden in the summer.
Our Sunday lunch was tasty, with some interesting vegetable accompaniments. It was, however, not much more than lukewarm, despite the fairly early service. The pub does get very busy around 1.00 pm.
Great friendly service
Batter on fish (fish n Chips) was gorgeous, thin like tempura. Yummy
Lovely food and service, do not like the seating for two people. Because we booked we were given little table against the wall. People who hadn't booked given a four seat table. Next time will ask for a better table. Will definitely return for the food.
Mother days : Nice Place and very busy , TBH food was average and very pricey for what you get on the plate ( think big plate not much on it ) , we also had a vegetarian child with us so asked for a dinner without any meat and was still changed full price . cost us will over £££
On the positive note , the staff were friendly and I liked the pale ale they served
Brilliant to have the option available to us in E17. Brilliant any time or any day of the week.
Always really good food. Slightly pricier than your average Gastropub but never had a bad meal there and even when the service is mildly inept it’s always keen and helpful.
Great pub in Walthamstow village but more veg please with the roast please!
Lovely selection of dishes and smart, cosy dining area at the back means you get the buzzy pub vibe without the noise / cramped.
Delicious wine and tasty food.
Went for Sunday lunch; service was very prompt and helpful. The beef was fine but the roast potatoes were sadly disappointing. They were the all too common industrial standard found in restaurants I.e. Boiled with surface roasting - no crispy fluffy edges; not at all how many of us fondly remember home cooked roasts. So would I rush back - no, was it a reasonable experience - yes.
Lovely food in a great cosy pub. Perfect spot for a chilly Monday evening dinner. Great staff.
Fab food, good service (although waiter seemed new and didn’t know all their drinks) they let us have the table early as the bar was rammed! Reasonably priced.
We came here for Sunday lunch after a long dive down from Birmingham. Good Service and Good food, we would certainly come again!
Great gastro pub which is worth a trip if you are in the area
Rabbit and keek pie and the three bird terrine. Yummy
Great Sunday lunch, pre Xmas get together. Smoked salmon starter delicious. Slow roast pork belly crispy top, good tasty meat underneath. Nice selection of veg kale, carrots, beetroot, roasties. Good wine selection in fact we had 5 bottles of red in all! Cheeseboard was varied, nice selection and crackers good quality.
Never felt rushed and service was polite and efficient...
At times it felt really noisy but it was busy . Would go again...
We booked late on Sunday and I hadn’t realised they were at the end of service. There was less choice than normal but they apologised and made up for it by add extras. The food and drinks were great plus the service made us feel welcome. Would definitely go again.
Really pleased to be able to return to the Queens Arms with their new chef and reversion to longer opening hours for the kitchen.
Came for Sunday lunch. Very traditional - and nothing wrong with that at all. We enjoyed it and would recommend.
Our preferred destination for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed in taking some friends there for the first time. Friendly service
Really disappointed with Sunday lunch here. Went a couple of weeks ago in the week and loved it. The veg was mainly undercooked and the roast potatoes particularly so. Also I found the waiter trying to clear away our plates too early while we were trying to get my son to eat more food. We had plenty of time so shouldn't have been rushed. The service was very good apart from that though and I like the atmosphere though.
You cannot false this place - nice staff, great location, amazing food. Great if you have kids too.
Always enjoy eating at the Queen's Arms. Delicious food with excellent service.
Fun and friendly atmosphere.
This is my local and its always my favourite pub to go to. I love the staff and the food. If you are a beer person you will appreciate the beers on tap too.
Really nice ambience.Great roast dinner on Sundays.Friendly staff, and baby friendly too!
Nice roast. Good service. A bit hectic Sunday. Quite noisy and lots of toddlers wandering around.
Catch up with a friend. Had a lovely meal been a few times and has always been good. A little noisier than normal lots of people enjoying the warm weather. ☺
I’ve been coming here for years and the food has always been good gastropub style food. However, the last couple of times I’ve been it’s been very average with reduced prices (and with that the standards) with the chips being especially poor.
The food was nice, but the portions a bit on the small side - I ordered Fregola and my dish was very small.
Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere. Sunday roast was very nice.
Disappointed. Under staffed, so slow service. Food was nice, but really loud and men’s toilet door broken and slamming REALLY loud every 10 seconds right next to diners. We weren’t the only table we heard complaining about this...wouldn’t come again until that was fixed!
Nice pub great location, good ambiance excellent service, but food average and overpriced. Roast beef was £16.50, it was nice and rare but rather stringy
