Cozy little brasserie with good choice of food for pescatarians.
Great meal. Owner /manager was having a tough night with a couple of the guests who were staying there who had way too much to drink. This provided some entertainment but clearly rattled the staff. Overall great and would recommend this place
Thank you and well done to all the team at No. 11 for looking after us so well last Saturday. Excellent choice of food and drinks - all delicious and enjoyed by entire party. Service very friendly and attentive. This was my second visit and I look forward to returning in the future. Best wishes - Ross.
Fantastic meal, great service and value.
Certainly be back
On the basis of the service we received, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant which is a shame due to the standard of the food which was delicious.
It wouldn’t take much for the staff to be a bit more attentive to their customers, we felt dismissed due to the fact that we had a voucher.
Excellent food and excellent service. Wee bit noisy on the Friday night, but enjoyed it all the same. Will be back
Very poor. The tasting menu was like M&S buffet food at eye watering prices. What made the evening much worse is that the price of the New Year’s eve fixed menu advertised on Open Table more than doubled between making the reservation (and paying the 50% deposit) and on the evening itself. We paid a 50% deposit of £95.25 for the meal and yet the food bill on the evening (for the fixed menu) was £381 (just over double what was expected).
Amazing food amazing service and a great comfortable place to eat! Very snazzy but a great vibe too!
Lovely, quiet little restaurant that comes highly recommend. The food was lovely, very tasty and nice and warm.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Will def visit again.
We visited on Christmas eve. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. We had the best Christmas dinner we have had for a very long time. Freshly cooked and delicious. Thank you
We had a reservation early since we went with kids, got even a little bit early and could be immediately seated. The service was really very friendly and the food was awesome.
It was a very busy day and we could see that the personal was a little overloaded, which led to the service being a little slow. Nevertheless it was really not a problem, since with the good ambiance we were having a good time in family.
Oh i absolutely loved the ambience and small intimate dining experience this was!! Would totally recommend to any visitors.
Elegant surroundings in quiet dining room allowing for conversation which was very refreshing from the bustle of the crowds in the centre. Food was lovely, served hot accompanied by a very nice wine. Reasonably priced for the quality. Would definitely go back and happy to recommend.
the reception was very poor from both members of staff. once seated we where offered drinks, and asked if we where ready to order food, which I thought they seemed to be rushing us. I appreciate that we where around 20mins late, through no fault of our own, and this was explained. the starters were not that hot, and who serves food on slates still... 3 of our mains arrived and we waited for the 4th and the sides by that time our meats where Luke warm at best... we were then rushed in to ordering desserts and it then became apparent that the two staff members where rushing to empty the restaurant, it was 9.50... while eating our desserts our host whipped napkins of our table, paper ones I may add and at 10.10 proceeded to inform us he was going off shift...not sure if he was hanging around for his tip but the very nice night porter saw us off the premises after we paid the extortionate bill. very over priced. Mark's out of 10...2
Nice quiet venue with nice atmosphere and decent food. Staff efficient but could’ve been more personable.
Great place to eat and very comfortable. The Chef is very good and all meals were excellent.
lovely meal, great service and friendly atmosphere
Really enjoyable evening, worth the wait.
Every bit as good as the last visit some years back.
Would definitely return on our next visit to Edinburgh.
Lovely quiet ambience. Good quality food. Great service and attentive staff. The decor in the brasserie was very moody. Nice and relaxed. Will visit again. We did not stay this time but maybe in the future to experience the hotel fully.
This was a fantastic find, the food was lovely, the service was great, we will be back
Excellent food, staff were so friendly and ideal location if going to a show at the Playhouse. Also stayed in one of their Georgian suites for the evening which was excellent! Recommend room 5. Can’t wait to return
Aiming to be an upmarket dining experience but not there yet. Food was average and not the high quality we were expecting considering the price. The waiter was very abrupt with orders and any questions we had. The printed menus are more suited to a diner style restaurant. Beautiful dining room but the food and service were very disappointing.
Brought my girlfriend for a birthday weekend, and we both love a nice dinner and evening out! We both had starters, mains and shared a dessert and bottle of wine. All were lovely! The starters (veg haggis Bon Bon’s and veg samosa) were, forgive me, nothing spectacular as we’ve had those before in several other places but were nice nonetheless. The mains however were amazing! Sea bass with risotto and trio of pork and both were to die for, and something I don’t think we’ve ever had. Again the dessert (sticky toffee pudding) is something we’ve had a lot of but was also very nice, the sauce in particular! We shared a bottle of rose which went down well too. Due to having a groupon voucher the bill came to considerably less than it normally would, and so would DEFINITELY say value for money was excellent. The evening staff were very pleasant, there didn’t seem to be many and the place filled up quickly and all at once but the gentleman serving kept his cool and was efficient. We had a lovely evening and left very happy.
We found this restaurant a lovely spot for catching up with friends. It was good to have the a la carte menu and a set menu to choose from. Service was professional and friendly. Decent wine list too. The dining room could have had fewer tables to make it easier for staff to serve everyone more easily but it didn’t reduce our enjoyment. The decor is lovely.
Thought food was excellent and staff very pleasant. Loved the presentation of the food.
Have been to No 11 Brasserie a number of times and it never disappoints.
Lovely restaurant in a beautiful Georgian building. Our table was next to the fireplace and was friendly and cosy. The menu was varied enough for my husband and me to be able to choose things we loved or wanted to try. Ingredients were fresh and our dishes were tasty and well prepared.
Staff were all friendly and courteous and we will definitely return.
all great apart from strange blue cheese 'sauce' for steak which was just a lump of blue cheese on teh steak. Fair enough the menu DID actually say that (when i looked again) but it was pretty strange
This was an amazing hidden gem that we found at the last minute to celebrate our anniversary. I couldn't fault a thing; staff and service wonderful; great menu and food was to die for!
highly recommend - lovely cosy, romantic little bistro
This is a great spot. We were made to feel welcome from the start and the water, menus and drinks came quickly. Our orders were promptly taken and delivered by the polite and efficient waiter.
The food was excellent and faultless. My friend's steak was just right and my duck was beautifully tender. The waiter then suggested we go through to the lounge to finish our drinks which was a great idea. It was a quiet and comfortable end to an extremely pleasant experience.
Great food, fun staff. No quibbles using the dine card
Very helpful when booking the table and on arrival. An enjoyable meal.
Picked this place out of the blue. The menu had a few items I wanted to try and overall it was average. Not knocking my socks off but decent.
There seems to be a breakdown with getting check at the end of the meal
We celebrated a little surprise birthday dinner for my husband - we were just four of us - but he thought we were just two of us. - the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious - thank you for a great evening - will definitely come back!
Meeting up with friends at the Fringe, we booked but the discovered a voucher on-line which the venue accepted fore Sunday lunchtime. Accepting a restricted menu as a result were then presented with sub optimal food, rock solid inedible croutons, rather tasteless pig cheeks and a measly single fillet of mackerel. the “sea-vegetable left a lot to be desired too, with lots that would be considered stems not fit for consumption. The wine initially chosen was also out of stock but was offered an alternative at. £6.70 premium, we declined that but later regretted the cheaper option. Overall a disappointment, glad we didn’t pay full price or this review would have been more explicit.
Very cosy and elegant setting with great service. Centrally located but away from the bustle. Excellent food. A lovely place to go with friends or family as it’s quiet and you can hear each other speak!
Disappointed that all three of the main courses were spicy. Chilli dressing with the pork cheek dish, Dahl with another and finally curry. I can't eat spicy food. I opted for the curry because I was advised it was mild, it wasn't for me. Our food was wrongly delivered to another table, very awkward!
11 Brasserie had been on our list for ages to visit. We visit one new Scotland restaurant every month so this was our July pick.
Service was friendly, chatty and good fun.
Food was really tasty (Steak, Duck and fish) with some lovely flavours and great presentation. It felt like we were eating in a top Edinburgh restaurant.
Really enjoyed the starter and the dessert, however the main (crispy pork cheeks) was very dry, needed a sauce and I felt the orange dressing did nothing for the dish.
Had a lovely birthday dinner. Food and service was excellent. A special mention to Mike who was very attentive.
