12th Knot at Sea Containers London (formerly Rumpus Room)
What Insiders Are Saying
Rumpus Room is a trendy bar in the Mondrian Hotel, but with actual good vibes and drinks. It’s pricey, but worth the cost for the view.
Great views. Service was friendly. Prices on par with other similar bars. Menu limited (we intended to have dinner, but Tuesday there is only a dumpling menu which meant we had to go elsewhere for food)
Beautiful bar with amazing views and great cocktails. Service could have been better.
Great lively venue with a fabulous view of St Pauls, the City and the river. The cocktail menu was innovative and fun, the live music (a little loud) but gave the place a fantastic vibe and it was busy, bussling and a lot of fun. Service could be a little slow- but that is because it was so lively. We had the table for two hours (inside) and like most other people we went out to the balcony for the views throughout the evening. Lovely venue.
We had good seats/views but that's easy enough to do when you have a rooftop bar. The service was abysmally slow - we sat for at least 20 minutes trying to catch someones attention to order more wine, only to then be told our table turnaround was going to be needed in 10 minutes.
Vegetarian options for food were fine and that's being generous (beware, I think the chips have parmesan on) but my cheese still had plastic wrapped around it.
The songs choices were good from the live band but the actual singing wasn't brilliant.
For the price, I expect better.
Good for a pre going on drink. Dim sum is good, cocktails are well made.
We had a table by the window so had a marvellous view over the Thamesn- amazing even on a dull, wet day. we really enjoyed our visit.
A very well appointed bar with lots of seating and sofas beautiful views accross the City - however very I mean very loud DJ playing banging sounds which no one was interested in but I had a headache within 30 mins!
A guy playing a piano would have been far better for this type of establishment and I felt it let it down badly
Great view. Great service. Wonderful experience.
Had a lovely evening with girlfriends, the bar area is stunning, the views are fab, drink selection great. The service, however was not great, the waitresses were very moody and not very attentive. However, the head guy (didnt get his name) was really accomodating and let us have the table for longer than usually allowed. Would definately go back as had a great vibe. Hopefully the staff will smile and be happy by then!
Lovely bar with fantastic live music and an amazing view from the rooftop but high prices to match.
Great bar with fantastic views of the City and Thames reached via a hidden lift in the lobby of the Sea Container hotel. The door policy is not the most friendly and when you can actually get the eye of one of the bar staff to order a drink they are pricey but tasty. Beer, wine, spirits inc lots and lots of gins-and cocktails. Hot drinks are not available but you can get one from the hotel and bring it up. Note that you need to get this authorised or you will have trouble getting back in - see my earlier comment on the friendliness of the door staff. In summary, you should come here for the view despite the mixed levels of service you will get.
Great place to have a drink. A bit too much noise but wonderful view and nice staff !
Great place for good views, excellent service and comfortable seating arrangements. We went on a Tuesday which is kitchen takeover day, we had Asian dumplings, all very tasty. Thoroughly recommend, bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
Horrible service we ordered a bottle of champagne took a while for waitress bring it to the table and after he pour it
He left bottle on table ,, I have to call somebody else to ask to put bottle on a bucket “common sense “
Then I asked for a liquor he forgot , he never check on our table , the 2nd bottle I have to called to somebody else .
Beautiful place but the service was the worst
The service was awful, seemed to be a an effort for the waitress to serve us. You have a table for 2 hours and are swiftly told when you need to leave. Pretentious atmosphere, shame because the views are lovely.
Had a fantastic celebration drinks here, with a great band playing live music on Wednesdays! Cheese board was lovely too. Only let down was the man organising the tables could have been much friendlier, arrived early for our table and he made us feel awkward for staying the total time we had booked (had been booked weeks in advance)! Apart from this I would definitely return.
Second time I’ve visited in 3 weeks. You have to book but service, atmosphere and views great!
Very attentive staff. Fabulous views. A little noisy due to sitting under overhead speakers but very quickly moved when we mentioned our concerns
Good fun, good ambience, good cocktails drinks.
Great service and great staff
Excellent service on arrivals by Reuben who gave us a fabulous table by the window. Served very prompt by staff. Good vibes with DJ playing (Saturday evening). Would highly recommend for fun and classy night out.
Absolutely great place. Good atmosphere, nice music and an amazing view. Would definitely go back !!
It was quite disappointing. It was very noisy and the drinks were terrible. It's not the best rooftop bar It was okay.
I love this place. Been here many times and this occasion was no exception. Live music at just the right volume with some funky covers, good food, breathtaking view especially as the sun was setting and attentive, well timed service.
They've let this place go significantly. from the rude and flustered employee at the entrance to the general decor and set up. This used to be a great spot to enjoy good cocktails and music. The music and the cocktails are still great, but the staff are overwhelmed and poorly managed. The tables and seats were dirty and the clientele reflected the dropped standards. we left after a single drink.
The layout of this roofbar is amazing. It was a hot day and we were seated just next to the open window which was great. The views are really nice
Excellent interior design, music and friendly customers made a good vibe and somewhat unique atmosphere.
Cocktails were tasty and high quality. The suff seemed to me bit little too casual for a premium venue. As we entered, we were waiting for a few minutes until hostess finished showing pictures to a friend or colleague. Also, before we ordered drinks we were requested to either pay upfront, or open a tab which did not help pleasant experience.
On the other hand, apart of these few details, service was great, we enjoyed our time and I would happily recommend 12th Knot to friends.
This place is amazing!!! I would definitely go back. We reserved a table and the service was amazing. As it was a hot summers day we managed to get the swinging chairs on the balcony too - which was brilliant. Lovely views of the Thames and St. Paul’s. Cocktails were amazing too! Get yourself there!!!!
Nice bar , disappointed that the terrace closes at 2200
The view is very nice, the personnel is very kind and smiling. We had a reservation for 2,and they gave us a table without view, but after 10 minutes or less, they changed our table with one with view, and that happened without asking them. The drinks are not cheap, but you’re not in an ordinary bar,and after all,it’s London, and London is not cheap! Our experience at 12th Knot is was very pleasant.
Really disappointing experience with 12th knot. As soon as we arrived we didn’t feel welcomed at all. We were seated and asked the waitress if we could order drinks and she advised that another waitress would take our order. 15 minutes later still no one came to take out order so we asked another waitress who said that someone would be with us soon. Another table was seated next to us and they’re drinks order was taken. After still waiting and trying to get someone’s attention we gave up and we went up to the bar and ordered our own drinks. The drinks were completely overpriced for the size of the drink. The only enjoyable aspect of our experience was the view. Wouldn’t recommend here! Poor service and completely overpriced.
Great service warm
Smiles and waiters with personalities
Didn’t eat food just drinks
Drinks were super expensive but guess that’s London for you
Could have done with some
Cheeky live music especially on a Friday night. Beautiful decor and toilets were very plush. Thanks for having us. Scarlett
Incredible views on the terrace. Amazing service very friendly and considered. Cocktails were tasty. Would highly recommend.
Made reservation for 7.30 pm two days beforehand. Received a confirmation email accordingly and subsequently turned up as per the booking only to be told that there was a private function that evening so we’re turned away at the door leaving it too late to make alternative arrangements. Received an automated email from the venue with no apology when they messaged to ask why I didn’t turn up?!!!..naturally I responded but again received no apology just another automated response..pity
Amazing service. The gentlemen Front of House (apologies, I don’t know his name but good dress sense, glasses) was so accommodating. We were a group of girls eager to see our friend that lived abroad and he could not do enough to accommodate the growing number of girls and champagne bottles and plates of food we kept ordering! They never let the venue get crowded like others keen to cash in on a sunny day in London. My only request is that they keep the terrace open later!
Fantastic view; very nice atmosphere.
I have been wanting to go here for ages and I was actually really disappointed.
The place itself is hard to find and when we asked the reception staff how to get up to 12th Knot they said ‘just get the lift!’ We didn’t know where the lift even was. The place itself is really cool with amazing views. The cocktail menu is so limited with not much choice so we opted for gin and tonics which were very pricey. The service was poor, we sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. Two strangers were told they could sit with us at our table (which I prebooked) without being asked and then they sat listening to our conversation so it was very uncomfortable so we decided to leave. Very disappointed.
Had a lovely evening the service and staff were on top form very polite and helpful would defo recommend this to friends and the and the atmosphere was spot on didn’t really want to leave 😉
Overall good value, crowd was upclass and views were amazing. Food options will do good to have more variety, they dont have option to walk up to counter and order and force you to wait for table service but at peak times will need to wait for 20-30 minutes to get attention of a server to order something (especially after your initial order), not sure if it was shortage of servers or because we didnt look westerners.
Very good to relax and chill out with friends but as a date I would not recommend. The seating is too spread out for a romantic night.
