Excellent roast and superb service, perfect way to spend a Sunday.
Small Sunday menu but covered what was needed, with varied cocktails and wine on offer.
Will be back to check normal menu!
We had such a lovely evening. The food was great. Thanks so much!
Food was great and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Very low key for a nice chilled time.
Brilliant food and great service. The lunchtime taster menu is great value.
Lovely food absolutely sensational spicing, buttermilk jerk chicken is amazing
Not much for veggies
Big portions considering these are small plates
Basic tables and chairs
But it is all about the food
And the head chef was there in the kitchen on a Thursday evening cooking up a storm
Delicious food and friendly staff. Had a great evening.
Music became slightly intrusive towards the end of the evening
Inventive and delious food and delightful staff. Pricier than a lot of Upper Street eateries but worth it.
Food was really lovely. One of the best Sunday roast in London. Value for money not great as portion are really small, but no doubt on quality! Fast service and really polite
I went there with my partner and two friends. First thing first: the food is very good, interesting combination and presentation. Unfortunately everything else needs massive improvement to live up to the standard of a good restaurant you want to go back to.
As noted by other people, portions are ridiculously small for the price. The irony is that the whole menu is supposed to be a sharing menu but most dishes are literally a couple of bites so if you are more than two people it's pretty much impossible to share them - one of them was a £13 scallop dish, which was in fact, one scallop. Imagine the fun we had sharing that among the diners.
The front of house staff is friendly but lacks experience and is sloppy, the person who served us was evidently nervous, was mumbling and it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying with the loud music and they added a bottle of wine we didn't order.
The overall appearance and vibe of the place is somehow disconnected to the culinary experience. The former seems to try to be informal, casual and appropriate for a casual meal with friends - loud music, rustic decor and vinyls covers hanging on the wall (?!) but everything else is trying to be a bit more refined and intimate.
To sum up, I think the place has potential because the food is good but they really need to invest in front of house, better decor and rethink their pricing strategy: make mains a decent portion size and charge a bit more and keep the current size for starters and reduce the price for them.
Sunday roast - truffle cauli cheese excellent, and service really brilliant although they were very busy. Horseradish cream didn’t really pack a punch and meat a little bit on the stingy side but overall all very good, will be back to try the tasting menu.
Fantastic meal at 12:51 for a belated birthday. Chef James Cochran and the team are turning out some delicious food. We went for the signature snack (Buttermilk jerk spiced chicken, scotch bonnet jam, corn nuts, coriander) and were talked into the kid goat sharer for two. This was a celebration of goat and despite fancying all other items on the menu we were really happy with our choice. Guess it just means we’ll have to return! 🐷
Amazing food, lovely service, horrible room that felt like being at a premier Inn
Unfortunately we were tired this night but the food was really good. Would love to return and try some of the interesting cocktails
Lovely lunch date!! Quick service, very very tasty and super friendly waiting staff!
Some very nice dishes but some where they got carried away. Too pricey for overall experience
James Cochran what a chef!
Took a friend for her first real food tasting experience and she was blown away!
We will definitely be back!
The cheesecake dessert is to die for!
Food was so chilled it was tasteless. Flavours thrown together that don’t go together and everything was covered in a ‘crumb’ - the chef is obsessed! Service was good but should be for the overpriced menu. Also, when we arrived they hadn’t got our OpenTable booking. Very disappointing - we won’t be back.
Food definitely interesting, creative - go with people you’re willing to share with and try and few. Everything was very good.
great chilled vibe at 12:51, awesome tunes and amazing food! The buttermilk jerk spiced chicken, scotch bonnet jam is outstanding - I think we ordered 3 servings! So was the French beans, peach, Montgomery cheese, hazelnuts, herb oil! Plus great cocktails and very knowledgeable and attentive staff. I'll be going back!
A lovely little restaurant with interesting food, tasty and a little bit different to the norm.
Great staff, and good value we thought.
Interesting combinations that really work. Chicken parfait jammy dodger was a highlight. Who knew!
Great service by a lovely helpful waiter who recommended a few dishes.
Great food in a cosy surrounding. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive.
Loved the decor. Lunch menu had a great range of food. The jerk chicken was a stand out along with the everything goat related. Thank you very much.
My first meal here was very memorable. The friendly service was apparent the moment we arrived and every course we ordered was delicious. My favourites were the french beans and the buttermilk jerk chicken (we ordered a second serving), and everything was presented beautifully.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
Tremendous meal in this lovely restaurant. It’s he second time we’ve been and it just keeps getting better and better. Lovely, k knowledgable staff who even asked the chef for me how the amazing cauliflower dish was cooked. Thanks. We will be back!
