AMAZING brunch out on the deck!! Stunning views of the lake. Fabulous staff. Exceptional food! The crab cakes benedict was the best I’ve ever had! Kudos to the chef.
Brunch was lovely. Food delicious, service very attentive and pleasant. Ambience was very nice but the noise level a bit high. The yellow jacket bees were quite a nuisance and a bit distracting. A bit of a concern as my FIL is deathly allergic to them. Overall a very nice time. We will come again.
Wonderful experience and can’t wait until our next visit.
I' ve never had a bad meal at the Inn. We used to go consistently but haven't been for at least a year. We went back for the first time in a year or so the other night. First time since the change to the dining room. Lots of old standbys on the menu and some change ups, especially the specials, that was nice. The managers there, especially Erin, are not just knowledgeable and professional, they are lovely people as well. Everyone there seems so happy to be doing what they do, it makes the experience so much more memorable.
Enjoyed our Dinner in the dining room and Lunch on the patio. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend to visit here.
A great lunch overlooking Cayuga Lake starting with complimentary champagne (it was our 35th wedding anniversary) with a bloody mary and blueberry margarita next. I had the crab cake benedict and my wife had the chicken wrap. We finished with coffee and shared a hot fudge sundae. It was a delightful brunch!
Beautiful ambience on the deck, but the DJ and music at the wedding below was intrusive!
Great spot for a special occasion meal. Service is excellent and food is outstanding. Thursday night wine specials make the wide selection more affordable. Always enjoyable, as one of the best restaurants in the Central NY region.
Excellent food and service. Our wait staff was prompt without being intrusive. Food choices were divine.
Everything was wonderful, for the most part. Because of the weather we had to eat indoors, which was fine. But there was a table where a male was speaking pretty loudly...it was a bit disruptive. Also, we were done with our meal waiting for the waitress to either bring a dessert menu or to tell us what was available. We all remembered having a wonderful dessert the last time we were there. She did neither....she just brought us our checks. We were disappointed in that. But I must say all of our meals were wonderful, as usual!
What a wonderful way to celebrate our 1st anniversary! We sat outside on the beautiful terrace - overlooking the lake; it was exquisite! Great service. The appetizer of stuffed dates and the salad with vanilla ricotta were amazing! Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
My wife and I dined here on Saturday before going to see South Pacific at Merry Go Round theatre and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our server was extremely helpful in assisting my wife with her food allergies (gluten & dairy). In fact, my wife was even able to enjoy having both bread & dessert - something that rarely happens. Can’t say enough positive things about our experience.
Wonderful food. Beautiful setting. What more can you ask food.
We had a beautiful dinner outdoors while regaling in the perfect sunset. There was a band playing downstairs but it wasn't too loud to interfere with our dining. The wine list is outstanding, we just had wine by the glass. For starters we had a cheese and meat plate that was excellent with the wine. For an entree I had the gnudi with puttanesca sauce which was delicious. The artichokes, capers and olives were perfectly incorporated into the sauce. The bone in pork chop was tender, very flavorful and highly recommended. We had no room for dessert.
Our lunch was very nice. Requested an outside table since it was a beautiful summer day. Perfect weather under umbrella overlooking Cayuga Lake. Food was excellent. Salads nice and crisp and handmade chocolate brownie ice cream was a fabulous finish for a great lunch.
Great food, wonderful staff
Relaxing with enjoyable view.
Loved the stuffed dates and smoked salmon appetizers. The scallops entree was divine, but the pasta bolognese was disappointing - overcooked pasta, not enough meat and meat was not ground. I would definitely not recommend that dish! Otherwise, the inn and dining room are beautiful, the view was lovely and overall it was a great dining experience!
Amazing food and great service!
Best place we have dined in years! The bar experience was so friendly and entertaining. The entire staff was exceedingly professional. The food was excellent! The view spectacular. We are already planning to return soon with friends.
We sat outside and the view was great. The service was outstanding and they really paid attention to the special needs of the guests. The food was excellent but I think that the prices are a bit high. I would not go there every day, but for "occasions" it would be very high on the list.
We had an excellent meal with the perfect setting as the sun set over Cayuga. It was an excellent date night for my wife and I. We cannot wait for our next experience at 1833 Kitchen.
Dining with you on our 38th anniversary was a great experience. All we could hope for! Thank you.
Fabulous food, fabulous service and fabulous ambiance!
Great dinner with lakefront views. I would definitely recommend it!
My appetizer was the grilled pork belly (Korean?). It was ll fat, no meat. Very disappointing although the sauce and accompaniments were tasty. My entree was the Arctic Char. The fish was tasty and it was served with potato fingerlings. The amount of accompaniment was disappointing. The fish was cooked just to the point of being overdone but not overdone.
My wife had the pasta Bolognaise. She said it tasted like it was a reheated dish, that the pasta was clearly overcooked. At the conclusion of dinner we asked for a limoncello. The bar did not have any? Really? The selection of other after dinner drinks was disappointing.
Lovely setting. Great waitress. Nice touch with the complimentary champagne was a nice touch.
A great setting does not make up for mediocre food.
A lovely brunch out on the deck with fabulous food and wonderful service. We love meeting friends at the Aurora Inn.
Overpriced and low quality. Waitress was young, lacking experience and had too many tables. The only beer that is available are craft beers none of which I recognized. We ordered the Burrata as an appetizer. The amount of Olive Tapenade that was included in it was so small it was hard to find on the plate. Six tiny pieces of toast were included that were so hard I was afraid I would break a tooth. We both ordered the Boston Seafood Chowder which had excellent flavor with a lot of haddock, shrimp and scallops. We were not offered or given crackers while tables around us were given them when their soup was served. The grilled chicken wrap and sliced roast beef were forgettable except for the lack of chicken and roast beef. The bread the roast beef was served on was very dry. We each ordered desserts one of which was the special of the day - a strawberry rhubarb crisp that did not have any rhubarb flavor at all. A hot fudge sundae was small with very little hot fudge and ice cream that was poor in quality. The total LUNCH bill for this was an extarodinary $110 before tip. All in all, a truly disappointing experience that I do not want to have ever again. I would avoid this establishment.
The food is pricey, but of good quality, and the venue is charming with lovely grounds and views of Cayuga Lake.
Great experience for 60 something ladies group birthday lunch in August. Gorgeous venue and we lucked out with street parking right in front. Sat on verandah. Rachel was awesome server and took care of us very well. Food was very good we each got cold summer salad. Wish micro greens/veggie proportion larger but grilled chix on top was perfectly grilled and cheese and exec quality. Wine list excellent. We shared a bottle of New Zealand Sav Blanc that was delicious plenty of fruit balanced with a mineral finish. Delish
Had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the beautiful setting. Lunch on the terrace (lobster roll and club salad) was excellent. Enjoyed the local pale ale beer. Breakfast's French toast was rich but delicious. Dinner was fine, but not as good as the other meals, perhaps because we had small plates. The fish chowder was excellent, and should have doubled the size to make it a dinner portion. Tuna appetizer could have been a little tastier, but was nicely fresh. Stuffed dates were yummy; my husband and I shared a plate of 4 and that was plenty.
Great bartender!! The stuffed dates were spectacular
Unfortunately we were entertained by a couple playing a guitar and singing. The volume was much too loud for the space. We were unable to converse while dining. This should be something you correct in the future. A great meal was made less pleasant. How can we be made aware of this type of entertainment when booking in the future?
Hotel restaurants are rarely this good! The food was outstanding
Food was just over seasoned/sauced. They are not good at bringing out the flavor of the ingredients (i.e. the protein, starch, or vegetables).
Everything was lovely. My only comment would be that there wasn't much crème in the Crème Brulée.
Otherwise everything was fine.
We especially enjoyed sitting by the lake before dinner.
We had our wedding reception at aurora in 2015 and since have moved away. But we visit the area annually and try to visit the inn or restaurant. It was a lovely evening and we sat outside. The wedding reception below was pretty loud but it added rather than detracted from the experience. The food, as always, was excellent and the service wonderful. We'll be back!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Can not beat the deck on a beautiful summer evening.
Tonight was a special date night with my husband. When we arrived we settled into the bar for a perfect cocktail before dinner. The bartender was great and the company at the bar made for pleasant conversation. We dined outside on the deck and enjoyed an absolutely fabulous meal overlooking the beautiful view of Cayuga Lake. It was a great evening!!
My friends and I love to dine at The Aurora Inn and visit at least once every summer. It was a beautiful day by the lake. We ordered stuffed dates for an appetizer: they were exquisite and can't wait to try them again. The shrimp rolls we ordered for lunch were quite average; we were not impressed. Tables were bare wood: plaacemats would have been nice touch in such an elegant surrounding. Overall presentation also average.
