The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced
Great restaurant, cozy atmosphere, excellent food. Hidden gem.
This is our go-to spot. We just absolutely love the place!
Very tasty and sophisticated food ! Will come back for sure
This place was incredible! We came here for our anniversary on Saturday. Unfortunately, we wound up in an argument while at dinner, but our server was still wonderful to us. Our argument had nothing to with the restaurant- the one thing we did agree on was how much we enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service here. The smoked salmon appetizer is so delicious and different! I ordered the steak, he got the duck- both were phenomenal. We will return next time we’re in the Finger Lakes- and hopefully we won’t be arguing! (For the record, we rarely end up in arguments over romantic dinners. Please let us come back!)
Took my gf here for her birthday...second year in a row. We both love the restaurant...great food and great service...you will not regret dining at 1833!!!
Ate here twice during. Both times the food was excellent. Dishes were varied, local, seasonal and well presented. Wine list is well chosen, with a variety of regions and price points. Our server on both occasions was Sue, who was exceptional. Very friendly and knowledgable and provided excellent recommendations. We happily recommend this restaurant and will dine there again.
My wife and I stopped in for brunch on October 17th, 2020. The foods always excellent, as well as the view of the lake from the deck. If your in the area stop in. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Food and service were outstanding!!!!
Such an amazing date experience! Phenomenal food and service, and the wine was delish! Loved the atmosphere as well.
I have never had a bad meal at aurora. Everything is outstanding!
Excellent food at reasonable prices in a nice setting. We ate there two nights in a row while staying at the Rowland House just a five minute walk away. Everything was good, but some dishes are simply outstanding including the scallops with risotto and the Boston seafood chowder. Most days, there seem to be a daily special in addition to the relatively short (seasonal) menu. The porchetta was wonderful. Fairly extensive wine list, something for every taste -- also at reasonable prices. So if you are staying at one of the Aurora Inns (pricey, but worth it), do include a dinner at the "1833". Reserve early.
Stopped here while on vacation in the finger lakes and we had an excellent time!! Food was delicious and place was really beautiful both inside and out. We certainly come here again.
We had a lovely night at the 1833 Tavern during our visit to the Inns of Aurora. Drinks were great and came out quickly, especially loved the chorizo empanadas! They were short staffed when we visited but we were told such as we were seated but all the service we received was kind and they kept our drinks full!
Had soup and salad that toasted wonderful. Loved the atmosphere.
Great view with amazing food! Good drinks as well!
We enjoyed a wonderful brunch at the Inn two days in a row. Everything came out exactly as ordered and piping hot! My husband said the French Toast was the best he’d ever had. A little bruise to my French Toast formerly in first place. You must enjoy the Inn for a glorious setting on their deck and a wonderful brunch. The only caveat is coffee doesn’t stay hot in their cups or perhaps it’s the pots they serve it in. Thermal carafes and narrow mugs will certainly remedy that situation.
1833 Kitchen was absolutely incredible. I will he back every time I am in upstate NY
A lovely fall morning brunch on the deck with inspiring music and fabulous food.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch on the airy deck overlooking Cayuga Lake.
The food was sub-par at best; I ordered the pasta bolognese and the noodles were not fitting and the Parmesan was of the poorest quality. My husband ordered the lobster pasta special and the sauce was more of a broth. Overall underwhelming but it’s only one of two restaurants in town so hard to avoid.
Went to dinner with my husband on Friday night. We were seated by the fireplace and bar and had the entire area for ourselves. We each had an appetizer, my husband had the chorizo empanadas and I had the burrata and heirloom tomato’s. We both thought our dishes were very tasty. For our entrees we had grilled bistro steak and the daily special, lobster cavatelli. Again we both liked what we ate very much though the steak wasn’t cooked as ordered. It was a pleasant evening!
The ambience, food, and service make this restaurant a must-go destination in the Finger Lakes region. Views of Cayuga Lake are peaceful and calm. A nice romantic setting. The food is spectacular , and the wait staff are knowledgeable and attentive.
Good food Great service Atmosphere so warming
I had the chicken with a side of mushrooms. I remember telling my wife when we left that it was the best meal I have eaten out in a long time. Highly recommend.
Everything was great except we were seated by an exterior door and it was cold...
They tried there best considering the limitations due to Covid.
We are here 3 times during our trip to Cayuga area. Dinner and breakfast we both outstanding. Lovely ambience, excellent food, friendly service and yummy wine. We felt very safe with their covid protocol. Would highly recommend.
Well worth the 1 hour drive. Food was exceptional. Service was great. The wine our waitress recommended was just what I was looking for.
We will be back.
All servers were professional and personable. The food was delicious and the view/ambience was extraordinary.
Lovely ambiance and great service. Would highly recommend.
Great view, food and service!
This restaurant was just lovely. We stayed at the E B Morgan house around the corner and decided to come here for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Unfortunately, my husband and I kept mentioning that the only problem with this place is the Pop music they were playing. My husband and I are early 30s and even being the youngest guest there couldn’t understand why they would play this annoying Justin Bieber/Pink/Ariana Grande music. Why not some beautiful jazz, classical, or even some gentle folk music to match the gorgeous surroundings?! Tacky choice. Ruined the ambience.
Elegant and refined. I think this is my one an only review on social media; it's that good. I had a deliciously well balanced Bloody Marie to start followed by the crab cake Benedict. It looked interesting on the menu and showed up with bells on. The egg couldn't have been cooked more perfectly. I pared it with an FLX Reisling... delicious combination. The crowd is decidedly upscale with good self-presentation. Outdoor dining is new to many establishments; these folks have mastered it.
We ate both brunch and dinner outside at 1833 on our anniversary while staying at the Aurora Inn. The setting can’t be beat, with beautiful views of Cayuga Lake and a lovely breeze. The service was great- attentive without being overbearing. Cocktails were excellent, as was the apple galette we had for dessert. The rest of our meal - an arugula salad, salmon appetizer, pork chops and trumpet mushroom entree - were solid but not memorable, but I would still go back for the overall experience.
very good tasting crabmeat eggs benedict, presentation excellent.
We loved the view, will certainly go back. We had lunch at the patio
Food was outstanding. We dined outside with beautiful views of the lake. Dinner was unhurried but service was very attentive. Highly recommend!
The scallops were delicious. Service was perfect and the lake view was astonishing. Wonderful place to go for a special occasion.
We enjoyed 3 breakfasts & 1 dinner at the restaurant. The accommodations for covid were handled extremely well and we felt very comfortable inside and outside. The quality of the food & service was consistently good and a far better value compared to other hotel dining options. don't hesitate to make the Inn a dining stop during your stay.
A great compliment to the beautiful Inns of Aurora. Friendly staff, great food, great experience. Will be returning!
