It was nice, a bit chavvy in the bar area (clientele), the restaurant had a better atmosphere. The food was quite bland, it's very expensive for bland food. I had to cover my chateaubriand in salt and pepper sauce to get some taste, I never normally put anything on my steak. The cocktails were great, the service was good, although slow. The desserts were ok. Honestly, I expected more for a brand new upmarket restaurant but it was slightly disappointing. Average at best. It's a nice bar to go for cocktails with friends and the views are incredible over Manchester but I would eat before you go.
Fantastic, superb views, good mix of people there, buzzy atmosphere and great food. Very popular
Our first time was a great experience definitely be back only downside was waiting at the bar for a drink while our table was ready just couldn't get served
Great bar and restaurant but so slow on drinks service- need more staff. Most of the food was great but avoid the burger it was terrible. Deserts and cheese board were fab.
You can not beat this place for the view, unfortunately the food and the service doesn’t match the incredible scenery.
The starters were bland and unseasoned, the lack of bread without nuts (I am allergic) meant I was left with the gluten free option, (almost unrecognisable as bread), the main was tasty but for the money was not great value and the wine was lovely but expensive.
The waitress service was excellent but the hostess was rude and even stopped half way through taking our names to speak to a “regular” and left us stood waiting.
All in all the experience was very average, you are paying for the views and not a lot else. I would not recommend to my friends and family but if u like a good view just go for a cocktail, they were at least enjoyable.
2nd visit and two restaurant types appeared to be now combined. Service excellent and wing steak brilliant albeit sides sauces were a little runny.
Great food and service let down by no control over bar access. Large crowds spilling into the dining areas taking selfies and then hanging around to be seen without even buying a drink.
We were early for our table but taken straight to it - which was a good job due to the Bar heaving on a Friday night. It was very loud and my party had to all squeeze onto the booth seating to be able to hear one another. The biggest disappointment was the service - the staff were friendly and polite but not exactly what you would call attentive - we were sat for nearly 40 minutes without a drink and had to ask for bread/olives 3 times (having to battle to attract the attention of a member of staff) 3 time before they finally arrive, just before our starters. At the end of meal, coffee was ordered which never arrived. Beautiful place and in beautiful, delicious food but service has to improve to attract returning customers I imagine. Also, a heaving bar in the middle of the room with people leaning on the booth where you are eating beneath them is not great.
We had a great night here, our table in the grill wasn’t ready on our arrival but we were taken to quiet table away from the bar and offered drinks whilst we waited.
We were then escorted to our table which was in the corner of the restaurant right by the window, we really couldn’t have asked for better.
Food was good and service was excellent.
I would definitely visit again.
Really enjoyable for special occasion dining. Noise levels can be a bit high at peak time but i think it adds to the atmosphere!
Loved this restaurant as the views from the terrace are amazing! Great service to from the staff.
Food is delicious but slightly overpriced for the quantity on the plate. The cocktails are very tasty.
Overall good experience.
From walking in to leaving I had a huge smile on my face. I really did enjoy the grill side of 20Stories.
A couple of very tasty cocktails to start followed by the roasted beetroot starter & fillet steak for main which was cooked to perfection. The ambience was great even tho it was lunch, and the views from all around the building where fantastic. I would definitely go back and perhaps try the restaurant next time. My only little bug bare was that there seemed to be quite a lot of tables crammed into a small area and staff were forever finding it difficult to get food to the tables whilst waiting for people to get past them and that wasn’t at full capacity? Overall an excellent lunch & experience made our day
Service was exemplary... felt very personal and attentive.
Dishes advertised on the online menu were not on the restaurant menu presented.
This was disappointing as the only chicken dish on the whole menu was no longer there!
Clearly the online menu needs updated or there needs to be a rider highlighting that the menu can change.
Went for boyfriend’s birthday. Staff were really friendly, service was good, food was delicious. No complaints .
Amazing restaurant and outside bar . Even though we had a delay on the food when it arrived it was fantastic. Already booked to return . It will become the place to go especially when the weather gets warmer
Very enjoyable. Quality food and great service. We will be returning.
Wasn’t good unfortunately , ordering and the actual getting any food was over an hour despite the starters being bread and two dips.
One dip had to be chased up so came after the toast had gone.
Main meals were average. Tables are close together so no privacy.
Manchester house is so much better service.
The bar area looks lovely and the outside area will be great in the summer just a shame about everything else.
Having already been to 20 stories for evening drinks on a number of occasions since opening, we were disappointed with our first dining experience. The service was extremely slow - especially for drinks which we waited up to 20 minutes for and the waiters explained that "the bar is slow tonight". A 12.5% service charge is then added to the bill!
The food was okay but not of a level that competes with similarly priced restaurants in Manchester. The choice is limited and the portions are small.
The views are fantastic and I will return for drinks, but cannot recommend the grill.
We needed to pick somewhere different as we have eaten at most of the good places in Manchester , so I looked for somewhere fresh and new and came across this gem stone. It was a special meal for me and my partner as I was booked to have my 13th brain surgery on the Tuesday , so really wanted to pull all the stops out and have a special meal... 20 stories was a gamble as not many reviews had been done due to it being a new Resturant but he who dares wins!! The restaurant was stunning, and very tastefully furnished. Beautiful views over Manchester and to top it off The food and service was amazing!
Definitely would love To return.
Attentive, fabulous views and ambiance with great food. Such an experience with the best loo in Manchester!!
We went for my daughters Birthday as I wanted it to be special. The restaurant was very busy for a lunchtime with the Bar in the centre as the focal point. The service overall was attentive and made to feel relaxed. The food was delicious as well as reasonably priced.
We were celebrating our friend’s birthday and she was presented with a ‘happy birthday ‘ dessert which was a lovely touch! What a fantastic place! Everything was first class, from the friendly and efficient staff who really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, to the gorgeous and innovative food and the buzzing atmosphere! And wow what a stunning restaurant with fabulous views -even from the loos!! We all loved it and can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer to sit with a cocktail on the roof terrace . We have been to so many excellent restaurants and bars in Manchester but 20 Stories really has the wow factor !
This restaurant has a "Shard-like" feel to it. Very impressive , a real wow factor. The food and views were amazing at our business lunch. I will definitely be making a return visit soon with friends .
Level of service needs some work , had to request to order drinks and food.
The service was impeccable. Always someone on hand to offer assistance. Food was fantastic. The fillet steak was by far the best I have had anywhere!
Wow. The food and cocktails here where phenomenal. I thought Hawksmoor did the best steak ever but this place has blown even that out the water .
