From start to finish it was outstanding. Great service from the waiter called Giovanni. Really enjoyed our first experience there and it won’t be our last
Perfect setting for a special occasion. We ordered from the modestly priced section of the menu, two fish pie and two shepherds pie with greens and scrumptious chips. Overall a fantastic experience.
If you have the chance, definitely go here! Expensive
But worth it
Great night!! Definitely recommend a visit!
The food is very good, and the wine list is excellent with some good values to be found in the extensive list. The ambience and atmosphere is excellent.
Great food, very helpful staff and great feeling to the place
Visited for a friends birthday. Waiter who looked after us gave an exceptional service, we couldn’t have been more impressed. Thank you.
An excellent Lunch. The Sommelier was very helpful.
The service was generally good Apart from the failure to respond to my criticism of my main course. The food however - confit duck as a main course was very dry and unenjoyable. This is one of my favourite dishes therefore it disappointing to have such a poor attempt. I informed the waiter regarding the dish but he responded rather indifferently to say the least. My girlfriends starter of chicken liver was good but her burger main course was mediocre. A good wine selection.
What a fabulous restaurant/venue for a special occasion. Beautiful views and surroundings/decor. Food was lovely. We had a brilliant visit, staff professional and helpful. Would recommend.
Andrei was awesome made are night very special the scallops were absolutely awesome and the lamb chops were coooked to prefection and andrei topped the night with the cake display he’s a real credit to 20 stories
still one of my favourite places in Manchester. Absolutely loved the little winter set up on the rooftop , perfect place for a date. The food and service was fab as usual , the staff are really friendly and go above and beyond to make sure everything is just right.
Amazing night out. Our server Giuseppe was excellent. Great food and wine, whilst the snow fell around the building. Highly recommended!
I took my husband as a surprise for his birthday, we have been for drinks here loads as the terrace is stunning however never for food.
I was amazed by the service and knowledge of the staff and it was such a lovely ambiance and not over crowded at all.
I had both the Manchester Tart for desert accompanied with the Manchester Tart cocktail - heaven!!! the biscuit was not easily broken however we powered through and i cant believe as a 35 year old Mancunian i have never had a Manchester tart before... i doubt i will ever have one that tastes as good.
We will be back, thank you
Lovely restaurant great ambiance
Cod cheeks and chips came on a board which made it difficult to eat. No server came to check on our meal which was a shame as my peas were cold. I did feed back and they game us dessert on the house which was a nice thought. My friend had the vegan menu which was fantastic I wish I had gone for that. I would go back but not for food
Far too expensive. At the sort of prices that you are being asked to pay, the meals should be offered with at least 2 sides of your choice. The fact that you have to pay extra for every side dish feels very ‘money grabbing’.
I had rack of lamb and the fat was not rendered down enough.....that spoiled the dish.
The service didn’t warrant the service charge. Drinks were slow, we had to ask for the table to be cleared after waiting 30mins.
We went for my daughter’s 21st birthday celebration. The food was amazing with very attentive service from the waiters assigned to us. We all really enjoyed the experience.
First meal out of the year a few friends have mentioned how good this place was and i was not disappointed and most importantly the missus was HAPPY loved it.
Great atmosphere (we dined on a Saturday night). The food was delicious and the service great, but what set it apart was the spectacular roof terrace and the panoramic view of Manchester
The service was exceptional in this restaurant, never waited for our wine to be topped up. Attentive but not to invasive. Food excellent and atmosphere was perfect for our Saturday evening dinner reservation.
I can't fault anything, superb restaurant!
More style than substance
Mainly geared towards 20 and 30 somethings , who want to be seen and hang around the bar area
Better places to eat in Manchester , overpriced especially the booze !
Won’t recommend or return
Food was absolutely spot on, from the starters to the sides on the mains. Couldn’t fault it if I tried, rarely write reviews but thought it deserved one. Service was very attentive, topping up glasses without prompting etc. Was a last minute decision to come here after wanting to for some time, probably couldn’t have picked a better place! Will be back to try the bar/terrace in the summer (just stayed in the restaurant). Thanks for a good night!
The reception from the hostess was not the most friendly, where despite asking to be seated at a table close to the window, she decided to sit us at a table for four pretty afar. Our waiter helped us getting relocated into our desired table. Apart from that, our experience was superb.
Service was outstanding!
We had great Brunch and the cocktails were fantastic! A gorgeous afternoon in perfect surroundings. We’ll definitely be back for lunch and dinner!!
Out with special friends
Really enjoyed the food, service could have been better. Had to wait a while for a drinks menu, and for drinks to arrive.
After all the hype of the food was disappointing cold plates my steak came out cold , great bar and terrace but food very mediocre .
Brilliant, great food, attentive staff and amazing view. Loved it
The food was great! The service was amazing! Great view of the city
Lovely food. Building is amazing. Views are fabulous. Give it a try.
The manager had really bad attitude which was disrespectful. The waiters are all really friendly and the view was amazing.
It was my birthday but it didn’t feel like it. Usually restaurant at least bring a little cake or something. Music was very loud so you could hardly speak to each other’s. In my opinion it’s more of a bar experience rather then fine dining.
Seems to have gone downhill a little bit, didn’t feel as special as it used to in terms of food selection/quality and service
First time here, great food and fabulous service, along with the outstanding views - we will most certainly be back!
the first time I went was for lunch and it was totally outstanding. We went again on Saturday night with 2 friends on our strong recommendation. We had a booth which was very good for 4 of us. Our waiter did a hard sell (in a very nice way) on the scallops with rissotto for starters which 3 of us had (most expensive thing on the starer menu at £16) ... gorgeous taste but not the big fat scallops he'd promised us so a tad disappointing. Me and my husband then had the Pork 3 way sharing plate (again with a strong push from the waiter) at £55. The belly pork was good, chops were just chops and pig cheeks small on mash potato (not much of it) so any sauce with them was absorbed by the mash . Main problem was there was no sauce so the whole thing was very dry and crying out for a gravy. The accompanying smoked apple sauce was very sweet and again not much for 2 -it certainly didn't compensate for no gravy. I asked for some sauce but not came. Vege - tiny portions - was of course extra. Overall very disappointed with our choice for the price especially as it was recommended. In hindsight we'd have been better off with a choice of the main menu . Our friends had a sirloin steak and rib eye. The waiter desperately tried to persuade them to have the 42oz steak which they didn't want but he just kept trying to to the point of annoyance. the steaks they said were lovely but it was a very very expensive steak and chips! Our bill - with 2 bottles of £32 wine and some beer came to £350.00. To my mind it was not a £350 meal! However, my main problem with the experience was the amount of very excited young people - girls in small groups particularly - up and down the restaurant from the terrace bar to the loos loudly taking endless amounts of selfies. The ladies loo (easy to go into the mens by mistake by the way!!) was totally overrun with them. I'm not old and stuffy but it was just too much for a VERY expensive night out and cheapened the experience for all of us.
Perfect place for cocktails and lunch.
Friendly staff that cant do enough for you.
Fantastic atmosphere with amazing views.
Can not recommend this place enough!
Great cocktails. Fabulous view, amazing wine list.
The food was also delicious and service faultless!
I have been to 20 stories a few times and generally find it fine except for the price in particular the Wine list. I generally have Sauvignon Blanc (cloudy bay) and you charge now £69 approx. I buy that at Majestic wines for £19.95 so feel £50 profit is excessive.
My wife and I dine out minimum every saturday and sunday and look forward to the Opening of The IVY next door to you. I have been to these in London and Dublin, the one in Dublin is Fabulous.
