28-50 Covent Garden
In the heart of Theatreland, 28-50 Covent Garden is the face of the St Martin's Courtyard dining quarter. Hand-picked wine lists curated by passionate in-house sommeliers, this big-sister of the famous Marylebone brasserie features a plethora of accessible and high-end wines by the glass - some exclusive in the UK (such as the Chateau de Candie from the restaurant's own vineyard in the Alps). Menu is from Julien Baris, doing what he does best – simple, seasonal modern European cuisine, cooked from scratch on the premises, and of course, steaks, big and juicy, and lots of seafood. Design by Richard Green fuses 28-50's acclaimed no-nonsense wine-workshop style with more than a nod to all-things bling, featuring bubblegum pink and sky-blue velvet armchairs at every table. 3 dining rooms, a connoisseurs wine-bar, an extravagant champagne bar and a killer soundtrack make 28-50 Covent Garden is a must for pre/post theatre or a night of relaxed fun with good food and wine.

I was initially booked into Covent Garden but was contacted & advised they could not honour my booking. They suggested the Marylebone Lane 28/50 restaurant as an alternative & said she would take care of the booking. However when we arrived, there was no reservation but fortunately they were able to accommodate us. This mistake was rectified by a offering us complimentary glass of champagne & 25% off our food bill. That was very much appreciated & more than made up for the inconveniences. The food, wine & service were all first class. Highly recommend.
We are regulars at the Chelsea branch which is great and thought we would try out Covent Garden. It did not disappoint.
From the moment we walked in to the second we left we were well and truly looked after. complimentary fizz on arrival as it was a birthday and the garden sharing platter was to die for, beautiful arancini!
The wine list is extensive but very well priced.
Many thanks covent garden, one of our favourites!
Many thanks 28-50 for making our anniversary evening super special.
From the wonderful welcome to the rose on the table, everything was so thoughtful.
Many thanks for the team for being great and the food was just perfect.
We went for New Years Eve, the starters come before we even had a drink. Very pricy for a bit of pita bread was £8. We decided to leave after that as it was just not great.
The staff are lovely it was so nice! Food was okay but I have been before and the menu was much better and had more to choose from
Very lovely dinner. Staff were very good and the price was also excellent.
Lovely comfortable place to catch up over lunch or drinks with friends, good quality food and set lunch menu excellent vfm. Very good at catering for restrictive (GF) diet and staff were excellent.
Delicious food, good value, and perfect location for the West end. In an added bonus, my dad is deaf, and struggles in many venues because his hearing aids get drowned out with all the noise, but the noise level here was perfect, and he could use his aids perfectly, which made it much more enjoyable for all of us
Amazing food and service and location. Definitely coming back. Wine is good too and staff knows they're thing!
The staff were friendly, helpful, food was good. Service a bit slow at times but overall great time.
Restaurant was cold. Food was good. But they ran out of swordfish fairly on I thought.
I booked a table for the evening of Christmas Day. At no point since the date of booking on 27th October was it ever communicated that there would only be a fixed price four course menu available at a cost of £75 excluding drinks per person.
Given that I had several messages requesting me to confirm my booking I feel it was disingenuous o the restaurants part but to use any of those opportunities to communicate the menu situation.
Very very poor custom service.
Christmas Day dinner
Sadly over rated- over priced and very much rushed - poor quality food served with a hurry up and finish service
Hi there, I'm really sorry that you feel this way, and apologise if we negatively impacted your Christmas lunch with us. I have to admit, that opening on Christmas Day this year might have been a mistake given the situation that our industry is in, staff off with COVID, lack of Chefs, etc. We do hope that we can reconcile this issue and offer you a meal on the house to come and try us again, after we hear from Boris. Huge apologies again and we hope to see you soon.
Christmas Dinner at 28-50 was absolutely spectacular! The service, ambiance, and food was top notch. We were looking for a high quality and buzzing experience…and 28-50 was exactly that. Cocktails, champagne, delicious foods, and fun/lively servers made the night perfect. It was an incredible way for my wife and I to spend Christmas Dinner in London. THANK YOU 28-50!
Hi there, Many thanks for your very kind review and we are absolutely delighted you had a wonderful Christmas with us. We hope to welcome you back soon. Kind regards, Ginny
Was a pleasant experience. Lovely spacious clean place.great service .took little while to get served .but once stated we were looked after well.
Little pricey...small portions.but was Xmas day.grateful for those working on that day ...thank you 28 50...we will be back...
We had an excellent Christmas meal. Lovely restaurant, service was slow- but seemingly only for us
It was a lovely experience. The servers were polite, timely, and friendly. The food was delicious and the plating was aesthetically pleasing. Would highly recommend!
Pleasant bur expensive, not for those looking for a hearty meal.
Simply perfect Christmas Lunch. The food was wonderful and the waiting staff more so. The ambience was in keeping with a good quality Covent Garden Restaurant, not too loud that you couldn't hear yourself speak but not too quiet to feel uncomfortable.
The visit here just made my and my sons first Christmas together alone a joy.
Dear James, Thank you for your very kind review which we are really delighted to receive. I am so glad we made your Christmas such a delight and we hope to welcome you back for another occasion! Kind regards, Ginny
We enjoyed our festive Christmas lunch well looked after by the lovely friendly staff.
Best service and amazing food! The outdoor option is very much appreciated.
Lovely restaurant, staff were absolutely brilliant! And the food was delicious
Amazing! Food was excellent as was the service. Hidden find
Great meal and even better with the 50% off alacarte
Nice bright restaurant with very attentive staff. The food was great, even if the fish from the mains had to be replaced with a cod.
Been here many times service is always amazing as is the food
Service was great and food really tasty. A beautiful restaurant
The food was well cooked and tasty and the restaurant was nice enough. Staff were friendly. Could not really fault the restaurant - everything was nice but would I go somewhere else with a bit more character if I had the choice - probably. It all just comes down to personal preference in this case.
Food was very nice, service was not perfect with a few mistakes but overall a great location and very pleasant.
Fantastic food, so tasty and experience was magnificent. The staff were so polite and made my girlfriends birthday extra special :)
Except my main fish dish everything was very good specially the waitress are very good 👍 i like the atmosphere.
Great option for pre theatre, friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price
We came here for our Christmas work dinner and were very impressed! The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous; super comfortable and very atmospheric. The service was excellent, and the food came out very quickly and beautifully hot and well presented. I had the chicken breast and it was exquisite. We had to leave relatively quickly to get to our train and the staff were brill at getting our check out to us in quick time to facilitate our leaving.
Overall very impressed, would definitely go again
Sat outside, food very nice and good value, service was good but as only table outside felt we got forgotten for a bit.
Amazing restaurant lovely food and exceptional service from our waiter. Definitely recommend
Had an excellent meal. This was the highlight of the day after the show we booked was cancelled at the least minute. Staff were very accommodating and allowed a change of time. Great service and very nice food. Would recommend the steak. Rice pudding was also great.
We just had drinks. It was fabulous. Great ambience. Brilliant, friendly stall especially Ruben.
The food was lovely, service was excellent, very friendly waiter
Unfortunately there was not enough qualified staff to deal with the amount of people. We were seated and then left for over half an hour before we had to approach the only staff member waiting the tables. She said she was rushed of her feet. We ended up leaving as we had 2 small toddlers in our group who needed food and we couldn’t wait any longer.
Awesome spot for great bites and well above average wine list. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and fun.
