The 5 course tasting menu, which changes seasonally, was superb. The beef tartare, the lobster ravioli (not anything like a standard issue lobster ravioli), the cod checks were all excellent and creative. My girlfriend had the cabbage vegetarian main while I chose the ribeye. My was great, but hers continued the creative level that we had been seeing.
We will absolutely be back. Probably next for my birthday.
This should be a Michelin starred restauant. I have never been disappointed with any aspect of the meal. The wait staff is knowlegible about each dish; and they are prepared to perfection. Wine parings are perfect.
I always have a sensational experience at 2941. The food is delicious and caters to a wide variety of tastes. The wine list is excellent and the somm makes great recommendations for pairings. The service is excellent and they don't rush you. Some highlights from my meal include the white asparagus velouté and butternut squash raviolini with maitake mushroom, pecorino pepato, and pistachios.
My wife and I usually dine at 2941 a few times a year and so far this year has been outstanding! We dined on Valentine’s Day and we both loved the tasting menu. So much so that the March Chefs tasting menu included the butter pocked lobster and ravioli dish from Valentine’s Day so we had to return! Jennifer provided us with outstanding service and her description of the dishes made us enjoy the food even more! 2941... please keep the butter poached lobster dish on your menu!!!
The food is excellent. The service was great. Our party of four (11 year old, his mom, and her parents). All generations were very satisfied and Grandma had a wonderful birthday dinner. Our third time here and will remain on our go to list.
Both five course tasting menu and 3 course fixe price menu were fantastic.
The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and attentive. Love this restaurant!
Service and food was excellent. Dining room very comfortable with tables spaced out. Look forward to returning.
2941 continues to be the best restaurant in the DMV area. The food is unequaled by anyone; Chef Chemel is innovative and creative, and always features seasonal ingredients, and NEVER disappoints. The service is again, second to none. If you are a regular diner, they make a point to know your likes & dislikes in an unassuming way. They are completely focused on insuring the total satisfaction of their guests. Their beverages are interesting and fun and the wine list has introduced us to some wonderful wines.
Amazing Amazing experience! Loved all the food and the attention to detail! Highly recommend this restaurant.
This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in the DMV. My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary and the chef’s tasting menu was exceptional. The staff wore masks, gloves, provided prepackaged silverware, and most of all - gave us wonderful customer service. Our waiter, Julio, was lively, engaging, knowledgeable of the cuisine, made great recommendations and genuinely seemed excited to serve us and other customers. Without hesitation, My wife and I planned to return again soon. Highly, highly recommend this hidden jewel. Bon appetit!
Possibly the best meal I've had in the DC metro area. Amazing food, drinks and staff. Highest possible recommendation!
Home run! Excellent dinner with perfect wine parings.
Impeccable. The food was delicious, the servings the perfect size. The tables were spaced and great care was taken as to the health circumstances. The waiters were warm and friendly, and seemed to take pride in detailing everything that was served to us. Just a lovely evening.
Menu was limited but there were enough choices to find something appealing. Presentation of food was outstanding. Service was excellent. A three course meal for $60 was well worth the price. The music was a little loud at first but seemed to get toned down after we were there awhile.
As always 2941 provided excellent food, and wine pairings.
It is always a joy to go there.
We had the five course tasting menu with the wine pairings. It was a very special evening. Food and service were impeccable!
My husband and I opted for the March tasting menu. The Wagyu Tartare, Butter Poached Lobster, and Chocolate Vol au Vent were excellent.
We also opted for the wine pairing. The sommelier, Nikki, did a spot-on job with those.
The service was not good. We waited 25 minutes between the first and second courses. They dropped off the third course without removing the cloches. After 5 minutes, my husband and I removed those on our own, placing them on the floor, as there was no other place to put them. Courses four and five came out in a timely manner with the cloches removed, but still. At this price point, that type of service is unacceptable.
Great Service! Wonderful 5 course dinner. Every course was perfect.
Beautiful place with great staff but ok food quality for the price. The feather like bones in the lobster claw were not removed which made the dish tough to eat.
Great food, the tasting menu is something you will never forget. If you want something very good and very different dine here. There is no other restaurant like this. This is food you know but cooked a very different way.
En couple, en famille, entre amis. On adore, on adore, on adore !
My SO and I went for our one year anniversary and I must admit that it is the first time that I felt as if we were not eating a meal in the midst of a pandemic. The quality, ambiance, and standard de cuisine were impeccable. I highly recommend. Moreover, it was a pleasant surprise to see a cocktail menu that contained drinks that I cannot make for myself at home. The bartender, Ely, was able to make a proper "off the menu" drink for my SO that rivaled any that she has tasted before. I highly recommend.
The atmosphere was just right, open and spacious. The professional staff is a delight and the alcoholic drinks are superb. The food is beautifully crafted, each bite retains its savory taste, and the presentation of the food is what you expect at a fine dining establishment. Worthwhile.
Expensive for a very limited menu. Not really a la carte options, only $90 for 5 coarse dinner. Used to be a great restaurant... maybe chef changed?
The service was, as usual, exceptional. The tasting menu along with wine parings was delectable. We alway look forward to what chef prepares, and the wine that is paired. This is on of our favorite restaurants to enjoy a date night.
Very nice place for a special occasion, the food and wine pairing was excellent.
The food is always great and the service fantastic. Tough times but they're keeping up quality all around.
The food and service was impeccable from our waitress who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive along with the sommelier who did a great job pairing our plates with the proper wine. Highly recommend for a special date night with your special somebody.
FYI, Don’t expect massive portions, as this is meant to be smaller plates with multiple courses but DO expect a flavor concerto to play in your mouth after your first bite.
This is probably the best experience that can be had in this COVID era but I thought some of the what I'll call "sanitation theater" was unnecessary. Do we really need domes over the food so that nothing happens between the kitchen and our table? That seems far-fetched. Same with wrapping the silverware individually. Anyone familiar with the science knows that these are not the transmission vectors to worry about.
Finally, those weird under-plates were very inconvenience because the plates on top of them slide around when you're trying to cut something like, say, a ribeye.
Still one of the best restaurants in the area, though. Had a great time.
Food, Wine, & the pairings were absolutely phenomenal!
Exceptional. We did the 5-course tasting menu, which is a real value. We brought our own bottle of wine and paid corkage instead of doing the wine pairings for the first 4 courses.
I wish I could have tucked into a huge bowl of the Wagyu Tartare with a couple more of those delicate potato chips. OMG. Between the forestiere and the lobster with raviolini, both excellent, but I have to say that the tiny taste of the raviolini that my husband gave me was not enough. I wanted more. The big surprise was how delicious and perfectly spiced the ancho chili pepper in mole was. And the rib eye was cooked PERFECTLY (I won't eat it if it's even a skosh over medium rare. As for the dessert, we all had the Vol au Vent. I've never seen halva on a menu at a fine dining restaurant. We need more of that. I understand the wine pairing they suggest with that, but I asked for a sauterne. Goes with everything, right?
The overall atmosphere at 2941 is also exceptional, and the restaurant is set up perfectly for COVID protocols. Some day, I want to get a table by the fireplace. The service is impeccable, the wait staff is knowledgeable., friendly and there just enough. 2941 is one of our top 3 restaurants in this area, and we will keep going back.
Absolutely amazing food and service!
We came here for dinner with friends for a Saturday evening. I ordered the tasting menu and every course was amazing. Everything was great. I loved the coco and chocolate dessert.
Note for first time visitors: the attendant wasn’t available on the phone number so had to walk around to find how to get in the restaurant. No bueno. There should be a better system for getting access from the parking garage.
Went there for the first time for our anniversary. Superb food and wine and service. We had a great evening!
The food was outstanding as we did the chefs tasting menu with wine pairing. Our sommelier was incredible. She went out of her way to ensure we had our favorite wines during the main course.
We loved it! We’ll be back soon.
Everything was perfect. Worth any amount of their fixed price menu. You cannot go wrong. There’s a reason why they’re the best in the region.
A great evening. The only “hiccup” is upon arrival, we had read valet parking. We pulled up expecting and waiting for the valet and no one came to take the car. The staff was inside and could clearly see we were waiting. There was no communication via sign or staff to tell us to self park. Just an awkward beginning to a lovely evening. The Sommelier Nikki Drake was a wonderful additional to the evening.
This was one of the very best tasting menu dinners and wine pairings I've had in years! Thank you, too, for the very wonderful service!!
The food was great and the wine and cocktail selection is phenomenal! I really appreciated the options you have for dining. I will be back for sure. Make sure to try the Bromance!
