33 Abbeville Road Ratings and Reviews
Great value for money (22/2 courses or 28/3 courses). Food was all delicious. Smallish portions but still well worth the price. Perfectly cooked lamb and ribs that fell off the bone. Good wine list. Busy, but not so loud you can't hear each other speak. The front patio is a great place for a sunny evening. Our server seemed quite inexperienced and not all that knowledgable, but the manager was always around and checked on us enough to ensure that the service was still good.
Excellent food and service, ate early 5.30 p.m. and the staff were very helpful and attentive but not overly so. All courses were of the same high standard and they devised a desert on the spot for my wife who requires a gluten and dairy free diet.
The cocktails and wine were very reasonably priced and the total bill for the meal was very good value for money.
Would thoroughly recommend 33 Abbeville Road.
We live round the corner and spotted this newly opened restaurant in abbé vile.
We were lucky enough to get out door seating and the menu really suited me. Lovely fresh food.
It was also pretty good value for 3 people. £110 for 3 three course meals with a beer and a bottle of wine was okay.
Would Ho again for sure.
I met my husband and friend after they had been at a business lunch and they were quite excitable! The young staff were full of humour and seasonal warmth, as well as being very efficient. The food was of a high standard and well balanced in design. The atmosphere was suitably festive and we had a lovely experience. We will definitely be back. In fact, I can't believe we hadn't been before.
( when I mentioned the hand towel bin was full in the bathroom, the response was of thanks and not taken as a criticism, which it wasn't) A lovely local restaurant, sophisticated without being pretentious.
We had a great meal at 33 Abbeville. We were a little put off by the menu as nothing really jumped out at us but it really didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and the wine too. Vince our waiter was amazing, so friendly, funny and helpful.
Nice restaurant, friendly and attentive staff. Food is good, not quite outstanding.
Asked for chicken liver pate special if there was no pork in it. Fortunately staff checked with the kitchen sand I was able to change my order.
I had the mackerel starter - nice fish but the focaccia bread served with it is too soft/crumbly - needs more of a texture contrast.
The pappardelle and lamb main was excellent. Sea bass with crab/chilli rice also very nice - perhaps a chilli sauce with it would be good.
There to celebrate a birthday, so staff were great at bringing out a cake I had brought in with candles lit etc. Thanks you.
Very nice restaurant, lovely staff so happy to go back again.
I was keen to try this new addition to Abbeville Road, particularly after visiting their sister restaurant in the Old Town for Sunday Brunch on a few occasions. The experience overall was okay, and they have certainly improved the look, feel and decor but the food was nothing memorable. It was food - that's it. It was okay but just not good enough for me to want to go back again. I had to book a table for lunch today for 7 and this restaurant technically would have been ideal - location, family-friendly, outdoor seating, price point yet instead I booked Gazette in Balham because I was not convinced the food would be any better. I need my tastebuds to be tantalised..........
We really enjoyed our meal at 33 Abbeville Road. The décor looks amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu was tasty and there was enough selection, without it being overwhelming. The wine were mostly new world, but there was still some very drinkable choices. It was great value for money and we will be returning.
Very disappointing. The food was average at best and all came luke warm. The special was presented differently to the description. The service was good and the manager noticed that the special had not been eaten, but the excuse was the kitchen was overstretched. That would also explain the fact the food was slightly slow to arrive. Fortunately the manager deducted the cost of the special and one aperitif from the bill. However there was nothing else that would encourage us to to return. 33 Abbeville Road is surrounded by better restaurants which, as locals, we eat at often. We will go to others in preference in future.
We were really disappointed with our experience, especially as the other reviews were so positive. The service was terrible. We weren't shown to our table, no one told us about the specials, no memory of who ordered what...I could go on but I think you get the idea. The food was ok but not reflective of the price.
We had been before for dinner and it was excellent but this Sunday brunch was disappointing. My toast was burnt beyond recognition and the restaurant's massive delivery truck was parking up/manoeuvring/unloading etc. very loudly pretty much for the duration of our visit - not very relaxing on a sunny afternoon. The staff are very pleasant and I will go back - I just ordered badly.
They took 45 minutes to serve us brunch, and the food arrived cold! They have obviously got huge organisational issues, the staff is there but they don't communicate and they have no idea how to man the tables. The restaurant was not even that busy.
The Eggs Florentine were served cold, part of the full English (veg) was cold too, my avo on toast was a joke, two large chunks of toasted focaccia (they should specify it's focaccia and not sourdough bread) piled up with a very small amount of crushed avo.
Won't be coming back.
