Great venue and my food was great. My partners steak wasn’t cooked rare per request. Service was slow, I had to ask the barman for drinks and food order wasn’t taken promptly.
We booked the NYE meal last min so didn’t realise it was a set menu. That being said the food was all delicious, we both had the fillet steak and it was cooked beautifully.
The only negative I would say is the staff are nice but very slow and forgetful, we ordered a beer and it took 45 mins to tell us they didn’t have it in, it arrived an hour after we sat down.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we were impressed. The food and cocktails were delicious and we had a lovely evening for New Year. The staff were friendly and polite, great little find.
The restaurant was shut on Boxing Day despite a confirmed reservation through Open Table. Very disappointing.

Booked a table in the restaurant for Sunday lunch. We’d been there before and had a lovely meal. We were placed in the cafe area and told the restaurant would close shortly (despite lots of people sat in there). Service was appalling - no enthusiasm, smiles or interest. Venue would be great for funerals. We left after the menus arrived - didn’t want to waste a Sunday. Zero effort from staff.
Minimal food options for gluten free diners. Even the one main course that was advertised as GF came covered in gluten.
Arrived at 20:41 for our 20:30 booking. The manager told us sorry the kitchen is closed and couldn’t serve us anything. There were options to book at 21:00 onwards so a bit strange. Had to turn around and try finding another restaurant!
Have been a few times and always loved the place.
Service was slow on this occasion to begin with and we sat in a booth and the lighting was awful - felt like you were being interrogated.
A family member also had a bad experience on service recently as well.
Will make sure we sit elsewhere in the future.. the food is good but feel like somethings changed in the last month staff wise.
Hope it changes back to the usual attentive and friendly place it was.
I had lunch here mid-week and was disappointed to find that the menu was not the same as the day menu on the OpenTable site and was fairly limited, mainly offering brunch options. We wanted to order the mac and cheese from the kids menu as a starter but were told this wasn't possible. In the end my friend had the squid as a starter, which was good, but my prawns were overcooked and mushy. For the main, I had to go for the brunch option which was fine but not what I had booked the venue for. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful.
I was very disappointed to find the restaurant closed with no warning and a wasted trip out in the damp dark autumn evening.

Terrible Sunday roast. Most people in the restaurant looked as appalled with the food as well. Waitress did her best but seemed ashamed of what was coming out of the kitchen
Just a horrendous experience
Great food, nice place. Service was a little muddled at times but I think that may have been because there was an obviously very new member of staff. Everyone was very friendly though.
Would I go back? Definitely.
First impressions were that this was a rather disorganised establishment. Made a booking but they didn’t seem to want to know and we were allocated a table as though we were chance customers. 10 minutes in to being seated and we were still awaiting menus. Eye contact was difficult with staff on duty but eventually we were able to get the teams attention and begin our evening. After our first initial experience things began to pick up and the team showed great knowledge when it came to my partners dietary requirements.
Food combinations were good, great balance, combination and textures. Some interesting combinations.
Drinks were good though our orders were hit and miss in terms of delivery. By that I mean we ordered but drinks seemed to be misplaced and had to be requested again. Perhaps inexperience during these difficult times and lack of hospitality staff. However wasn’t the end of the world.
In all, lovely setting for our first meal in Brighton. Food was certainly the standout of the whole experience. Would highly recommend.
First time out for dinner during/after pandemic and was great, staff had lots going on but were so lovely, great friendly service from everyone. Food came quick and was really good. Cocktails really nice too. Waited for one drink but I mean Saturday night that’s to be expected so not a complaint just saying if that’s the worst thing it’s all good in my opinion! They couldn’t have been nicer, food & drink lovely so that to me equals a great place.
Amazing food. A little cold in the restaurant as all the doors were open. We had an issue with missing food which the staff rectified but on reflection, we could have been better compensated due to the lengthy wait of our meal.
We had a fantastic meal, the fillet steak was delicious! Great cocktails and really friendly staff. Will definitely come back .

Had a bit of a friction with the server who told us that we weren’t able to take the service charge off the bill. Then I showed him the menu where it says that it’s discretionary.
I only wanted to pay in cash and less than the 12.5% because the wait for food was over an hour.

We did have to wait 20 minutes for our drinks but the food came fast and it was amazing so it made up for it. Will 100% be back.
We ordered our food from the counter. Although the choices were limited, the food was good and of excellent value. The cakes were particularly good.
The food was really lovely. We had to move tables as the heater was broken. Took a while for the server to take our drinks order and they were out of a number of starters. The food made up for any niggles though. The restaurant and outside decking area are really nice.
The location and atmosphere is excellent, and the food was good. The reason why I’m rating this place 3 stars is because the service was fairly poor and the waiter was being immensely rude to us despite the fact that me we’ve spent a lot of time and money there.
I booked a table on a Saturday afternoon for lunch for me and my partner. We ordered a bottle of wine & pint of beer, the wine was £27 a bottle ! 2 starters - the scallops & pig cheek both very small portions for the price so we were really looking forward to our mains. The starters tasted like they were missing something. We both ordered the prawns for our main dish quite pricey £16 each but we thought we haven’t done this in a while so let’s treat ourselves. When it arrived me and my partner both looked at each other in shock. On our plates were 5 prawns on a stick with heads and tails still on, a wedge of lemon, pot of mayonnaise & a slice of bread. My partners was toasted mine wasn’t. I mean for £16 this was horrendous. It was a starter portion. The prawns tasted like they had come out of the ground not the sea. They had a earthy taste. Yuck. We both left the restaurant £106 down & still hungry!
I wouldn’t recommend this place at all ! There are a lot more nicer, cheaper places to eat in hove. Don’t bother ! Don’t waste your money.
We had breakfast, the service was great. The the eggs Benedict and with gravadlax were delicious, poached eggs perfect
The food was a bit overpriced for what it was. Ladies toilets were vile. Service was good until I mentioned I had a a wine glass that looked like it had been cleaned with tissue when paying the bill (just so no other customers got the same thing, but personally I wasn’t too fussed and cleaned it myself). Rather than an apology I got a response that no one else had complained and the glasses were always polished.
Always love the food here and service is excellent!
