The restaurant setting was nice (although it was very quiet for a Saturday night) and the staff were really lovely which saved our experience. But I found the food to be poor and very over priced for the standard. I ordered the honeynut squash empanadas - but that’s not what I got. It was simply half a stuffed butternut squash with some rocket leaves on the side...very disappointing, especially for £14.50! Overall a very disappointing experience and I doubt I will be returning.
Very poor description of food and not a good experience. Didn’t enjoy it at all.
Nice restaurant with a rustic setting, food is always top quality. Staff are always pleasant and polite. Been a few times now and never been disappointed.
Food and service very good. Only disappointment was that there was an 18th party on in the function room and all the guests arriving walked through the restaurant, which is unacceptable when your trying to eat
Nice atmosphere. Good menu and we thoroughly enjoyed the food - cleaned our plates, though would suggest they are a bit braver in the way they cook the pigeon and the liver - could have been a little more pink - just slightly over-cooked but the flavours were excellent and would throughly recommend a visit.
Very nice Sunday Lunch and good value for money nice ambience
Superb food, staff and value. 5 star. Highly recommended and can’t wait to visit again.
It was my first time at 47 grains. The restaurant is very nice and comfortable. The service was very good the girls that served us were very friendly and efficient, nothing was too much.
The food was very good and was excellent value.
We chose the early bird my only criticism would be that the menu wasn't overly big and we were informed that it only changed seasonally so if we were to return for the early bird we may have to order the same food . That may prevent us returning .
Food was not hot when we told staff they just said sorry. Sorry is not good enough when you are paying a bill of £120 pounds. We had white wine and side 2, £5.85 is expensive when you are only reg measure of wine.
This was a joint birthday and wedding anniversary meal, warmly greeted by the staff and when they found out the reason for the meal they brought us a glass of fizz (lovely touch)
The menu choices were good and both our starters and mains were excellent, in fact probably one of the best quality meals we have had for quite a while, superbly cooked to perfection.
Just couldn't eat it all so took remainder home.
Food, staff and surroundings excellent. Will definitely be returning.
Lovely comfortable restaurant. Plenty of space between tables. Very pleasant staff. Early bird menu is good value. Only access is via outdoor staircase so that was a bit of a problem for one of us. But on the whole really good.
Perfectly cooked food in beautiful surroundings would highly recommended
Fantastic! Delicious, modern food and so reasonable!
We went for Sunday lunch and it was all cooked to order - yum
Had Sunday lunch. Food was good, service was a little slow but we were not in any rush. Although we had a 1.30pm reservation, several dishes were already unavailable which was a little disappointing.
A very enjoyable evening with good food, very pleasant staff and a lovely atmosphere.
A lovely meal with friends.
Food was lovely, hot very tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly.
We were in the corner so perhaps quieter than being more in the middle of the room but this suited us as we were having a catch-up.
Staff who were attentive but without hassling or interrupting you.
Would definitely recommend and we will be back for another meal soon!!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Looking forward to going again
Fab starters and mains, especially the fish dishes, but the poached pear was a slightly disappointing finale as it was pickled in vinegar. Staff were friendly and gave good drinks recommendations and I’m sure we will head back soon.
Our second time at this lovely local restaurant and every bit as good as the first. A warm and friendly welcome from the staff, and excellent choices from the summer menu. Devilled chicken liver starter was full of flavour and the stuffed chicken breast with mushrooms and tender stem broccoli was perfect. A good choice of wines offered, and I can recommend the Malbec.
Great food and the staff were very helpful and friendly 3rd time we’ve been there with friends and really enjoyed our food the tables aren’t to close together would recommend it
This was my first visit and I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, the cocktails were fab and I will definitely be coming again.
Amazing food and service! Very personal and a gorgeous venue. We will certainly be back.
Fabulous food at a reasonable price - brilliant service - nothing else matters
Gorgeous food definitely go back. Early bird menu good value
Awesome service and quality
Very pleasant service, good food and a pleasant ambience. Altogether a nice experience.
Lovely food and attentive staff. Will visit again. Complimentary cocktail for my birthday was and added bonus.
A gem of a restaurant. Everything of a high standard.
A fabulous little gem of a restaurant sitting above the popular Millers Bar. It was a little noisy on the night we visited but only from a live band performing in the beer garden below. Not at all off putting though. Unless you’ve a big appetite be careful with the choice of starter - both the muscles in white wine and the devilled chicken livers were simply superb and very generously portioned. The surf and turf steak was beautifully grilled and delicious. Wine choices are good and reasonably priced. We were so full we missed out on the sweet menu which was also brilliant in terms of choice. I’d highly recommend this place and it was a pleasure to be served by the cheerful staff.
Lovely atmosphere and the fine dining experience from being seated all the way to paying the bill. Even had a nice chat with the chef who came out to check everything was ok. Strongly recommend the pig cheek starter.
Must try the Italian wine on offer here, smoother than Roger Moore, bolder than Grace Jones, and more depth than Stephen Hawking.
This was our first visit, and we will definitely be returning.
The welcome was pleasant - friendly but unimposing.
Service was great - prompt and discreet.
Food was REALLY good - exceptionally tasty, and generously portioned.
Atmosphere was very calm - it wasn't particularly busy, but it we didn't feel exposed.
Excellent venue, service and food. Must be one of the best eateries in the area.
wonderful evening everything was first class, the service, food, value for money we will certainly be back!
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing amazing amazing. Oh amazing! We’re both big foodies and this has just gone to the to0 of our list.
Service was excellent and food very good, good choice on the menu. We went on a Wednesday night so the restaurant was very quiet
Tasty Sunday Meal...will go again
Been to 47 grains a few times now and it has always been a great experience. Wonderful staff and superb food. I recommend anyone to treat themselves and go .
We ate there for the second time on Friday. Can't recommend highly enough. Rib-eye steak with blue cheese sauce is to die for. The service was excellent - despite being on his own our waiter was very pleasant, attentive and stopped us from over ordering side dishes which was very much appreciated! Will definitely be recommending and will definitely be back!
Service was brilliant and the food was unbelievable. Couldn't fault anything.
Good food and excellent service fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary
