Outstanding in EVERY field of service! Best restaurant I’ve been to by far!
First time there. Everything was fine until they brought out my wife’s steak. Waitress asked her to cut it to make sure it was cooked properly. She cut it open and the waitress said, and my wife agreed, it was over cooked. Waitress took the steak back and came back about 10 minutes later and said the chef said it was properly cooked and she pointed to some additional cuts they made showing some light pinkness. By this time the steak was also at room temperature and I had finished my meal. The waitress also did ask if my wife was “OK” with the it and my wife, who at that point was furious said ok. My wife, who is usually very calm, was really mad about the whole episode and was ready to go.
To be clear the waitress did everything she could do and was great, no issues there. But for the chef to basically say this is cooked properly, eat it as is, is totally unacceptable. Aggravating Factors: The steak was advertised as 8 ounces but was probably closer to 5, which may explain the problem with cooking. It also cost $54 which would certainly make one think it would be “something special”. We asked about the air conditioning as it was blowing directly down on us (nice lady in table next to us did as well) and nothing was done. They could have offered to move us. Although we commonly spend $200 on nice dinners a 5 ounce overcooked steak, a bowl of roasted Brussels spouts, a wedge salad and 2 glasses of average wine should not be $106 dollars. I had 2 orders of oysters at $17 each and a cocktail for $9. With tip it was close to $200. The online menu also shows several selections of fish but none was available. They apparently cover themselves by calling it a “sample menu” which I guess means “just because we say it doesn’t mean we sell it”. Conclusion, We have eaten at great steak places from coast to coast and never experienced such misrepresentation and poor food service preparation. Arrogance in the restaurant business is very seldom a good thing.
Food and service were excellent! I was upstairs and it was extremely cold. Most of the women were shivering. I asked my server if the temperature could be raised some and she said she did not think so. I was not the only lady making the same request.
Service was great and food was marvelous. We had a 5 o'clock reservation and we were seated promptly upon arrivingl
We had steak and it was good however not as good as the prices. I can get the same meal at another steak house in town and be as good or as better for less than half the price way too pricey
We had a wonderful experience in this beautiful restaurant. Food and service were excellent.
raise the price of a martini and don't charge extra for a garlic stuffed olive
Nice setting with manager coming by to check on patrons. Blackened ribeye was very tasty and well cooked, but seemed like its quality was between "select" and "choice"...certainly nowhere near "prime". The grilled oysters were super excellent. Main drawback was the waitress seemed to be a little hyper versus relaxing, but very nice none the less. Overall, I still recommend a try.
The service and food was phenomenal. Whenever we are in town, we are coming back!
The steak cobb salad was pretty good, but should have had about 1/3 of the lettuce. The "good stuff" was lost in all the lettuce and I had to dig to try to find it. My husband loved the oysters, but charging him extra for a little cup ( about 1 tbsp) of cocktail sauce was pretty cheap. He had a dozen oysters, so he should have had enough cocktail sauce to go with them.
501 Bourbon Bar is the place to go! The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The manager always greets each table & guest with a friendly welcome and makes them feel at home. The food is outstanding. The bartenders are the best in town! I have never been to a restaurant/bar where I felt comfortable/safe to enjoy the atmosphere, food and ambiance. It is the best place in town to go to celebrate, to just have a great dinner, or just to chill out. I always recommend it as the #1 place to go.
Outstanding service . Food is always amazing
We made a reservation for our 38th wedding anniversary. The hospitality was excellent along with the food and our server. Jeff did an outstanding job. Give them a try you can’t go wrong.
The service was terrible!! The food was very good
For our anniversary we chose 501 Prime and they did not disappoint! The hostess made us feel welcome the second we walked through the door. Our server was fast, knowledgeable about the menu and so sweet! While we waited for our food the atmosphere felt peaceful and the drinks hit the spot. When I food arrived shortly after ordering it was cooked to complete perfection. We are still swooning over our amazing experience!
Seabass with oriental vegetables awesome
Fried Brie fantastic appetizer
Good wine selection
Service top notch!
It was delicious! Our server was attentive and so helpful. My only recommendation would be that some of the food be a little hotter. My tomato soup was lukewarm as well as our macaroni and cheese. I wish they would have been hot. I would definitely go back though.
501 Prime was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. We enjoyed everything! The employees were happy and fun to talk to. The food was outstanding. By far the best place we ate in Hot Springs and and it’s at the top of our list. We’ll drive 5 hours just to eat here.
Excellent food and service
Shared server w patio seating and it seemed to stretch them pretty thin. Missing ladies night amd live entertainment
Shelly was incredible! This was one of the best meals we have ever had!
We try to eat here every week because the menu changes weekly. The fresh fish has been amazing; the pork chop with the peach barbeque sauce is incredible. And...don't let me get started on the desserts. Everything is first class. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
We had 1/2 oz. caviar service (very good), half dozen east coast oysters (very good), a la carte 8 oz. filet (ordered medium; served medium well) - oscar topping (OK; swimming in hollandaise), seared tuna w/ ginger very small), and bottle of wine. Excellent front mgmt and staff.
Wonderful!!! Service was incredible! Highly recommend!
Great staff and even better food.
Great food. Good presentation. Request private booth. Open tables loud. Wine served too cold.
Food and service was excellent. Plenty of parking and great atmosphere.
Food was mediocre. I ordered the seared tuna and it was flavorless. The Cesar salad had a strong vinegar taste and the cheese was hard and rubbery. Nothing like Parmesan. Not sure what it was. The pork chop was good.
Shelley was excellent!
Delicious steak, bacon potato mash, and green beans. The service was beyond excellent. Pricey, but the food was so good.
Cannot say enough about our meal at 501 Prime. Food was cooked to perfection. I believe our waitress’s name was Shaye, she was awesome. We never wanted for anything and she made sure everything from our drinks, appetizers and main entree were as we ordered. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful fine dining experience. Classy without being stuffy. Make your reservations as soon as you can cuz this place books up fast! You’re gonna love it!
Overall the experience was more than I expected . It was fantastic ! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Looking forward to my next visit.
The service & the food were wonderful. They are a little pricey. The only complaint I would have is that we were seated in a traffic area the servers used & it was our Anniversary. They knew it was our Anniversary because I put that down on the reservation when I made it.
We had a special dinner tonight and the meal was fantastic. We received outstanding service and my husband commented that our waiter, Chris, was quite possibly the best server he’s ever had at any restaurant.
Great place to dine!!! Great food and staff! *
We were in Hot Springs to visit and were very impressed with our decision to try 501 the one night we were in town! We started with drinks at their bourbon bar. The hostess at the front let the bar know we were on our way up, and they greeted us by name with seats when as we walked up. The bartender was very friendly, prompt, and professional, and the drinks he made us were fantastic. I went with a lemon martini that was light and refreshing, and my boyfriend loved his old fashioned. Our great experience only continued with dinner. The seafood was very fresh and delicious. It was clear that the chefs were proud of their dishes and ingredients. Everything was beautifully plated and tasted even better. I have several food allergies that they worked around with no issues. Their wine list is diverse in selection and price, providing options for anyone. We surfed through appetizers and could have created an entire meal from oysters, caviar, duck spring rolls, and others but were excited to try their double pork chop. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. We are big fans of Perry's pork chop, but 501's has trumped that. Our server was polite and attentive, and the GM came by to ensure we were having a great experience. It was clear that the staff loves the restaurant like we did. We will definitely be returning whenever we visit Hot Springs. This restaurant is a diamond in the rough!
Great restaurant! Service, drinks, food and atmosphere is superb. You have the choice of setting in the dining area, bar area, oyster bar, or bar tables. They have a wine selection and over 500 bourbons and other liquors. Highly recommend.
Me and my fiancé was visiting from out of town and went there to celebrate his birthday. Everything was exceptional! Our waiter Bernie was awesome!
The steak was pretty good, a bit charred. Especially, for one that was requested as medium. Also, I specifically asked to be seated in the dining room and was relegated to the upstairs bar, by the restrooms despite having an advanced reservation. That, nor the inordinate amount of time it took to receive the meal, took away from the quality of the food. It was of the caliber to, somewhat, justify the price. However, the archaic "no substitutions" when coupled with the less than 5-star quality atmosphere makes it a place that I probably won't visit again.
