This place was not what my wife and I expected. Overpriced food, poor service the only thing good was the drinks.
We went for my son’s actual 16 birthday. We included that in our reservation notes. We asked for them to make any fuss that was possible. It was not mentioned by them, only by us. They closed out our bill before we were able to order dessert. Our server was very uninterested in us. We had to ask him to order drinks, appetizers and entrees. Our entrees were brought out 20 minutes apart.
On a positive note, the cheeseburgers that my husband and son ordered were very good.
I think in non covid times this place would be even better.
I was extremely disappointed with the limited menu and food quality. I had heard such great things about this place and was sad about the experience. We requested an outside table but they did not have any available in the shade so we sat inside. Perhaps we will try again post COVID.
John, our server, hardly came to our table all evening, when we asked for condiments he would take 20-30 minutes to bring us them, he made rude comments to us, and when we asked him why we were not being served he told us he was spending time at his other tables. It was very upsetting because we watched him be very attentive to all of his other guests, but intentionally did not come near our table. We had to ask for our bill multiple times before we got it.
Our sever Stacey was enthusiastic, postive and attentive
The service was absolutely horrible. We had our food come out 20 minutes apart with no explanation, never got plates for our pizza despite asking, never got waters refilled, never got checked on or offered another drink, had to flag down waiter for Bill, then had to get up and go to the kitchen to ask for a box for leftover pizza after asking two people for one. Probably never had service this bad before. No attempt to even try to be friendly. They did seem understaffed but never even tried to explain or apologize.
Food was good but they’re operating on a limited menu currently which I was disappointed in seeing but TOTALLY understandable given the circumstances! We sat outside and they had great precautions set in place!
Wine selection is not good. Amazing atmosphere but the website doesn’t show the updated restrictions on the limited food menu.
Atmosphere and food were good but service was absolutely terrible.
Excellent food and service! Compliments to the chief.
Check it out 11/10
Salad was warm and pizza was just ok. Would not return.
A nice place to meet and drink. Food left little to be desired ... hang up the Apron
Hello John, I apologize the food was not to your liking, we are making adjustments each day and week as we re-open to enhance our menu and quality for our guests. We have recently added more items for our weekend menu and as we are allowed more guests we will be adding more items that will be closer to the our menu before Covid. We hope you let us know next time you are in to ensure your visit goes better! -Michael Pitsiladis, Food and Beverage Manager
Perfect little area for cocktails and outdoor lounging. The cabana was perfect and The weather was absolutely beautiful. Perfect little bar menu to order from. The food was great and the service was top-notch.
Hello Lindsey, We are so glad you enjoyed yourself! I am thrilled that everything was to your liking, as this is the first full week of our re-open we strive to continue to better our quality we are very happy and thankful you were able to enjoy yourself! We look forward to seeing you again soon!! -Michael Pitsiladis, Food and Beverage Manager
I requested outside eating and I was seated inside with the sun shining right in 2 of our eyes, even though I went up and asked for outside. Then a group after mine was seated outside. Our food did not come out together, my husbands pizza was cold by the time 2 of our burgers came out and we had to ask for the 4th meal that came out at least 10 mins later then it was not even good. The waitress tried to make up for it and offered us dessert but you didn’t even have the dessert on the menu.
I do apologize for your less then great experience, as this was our first week opening under the new covid guidelines we are working diligently to ensure every guest has a great experience. I am sorry we let you down on Saturday. As we are growing in the new restrictions and guidelines we are quickly making adjustments to enhance our guests visits with us. Please know we are taking all feed back during these first few weeks to enhance each persons experience. -Michael Pitsiladis, F&B Manager
First night opening after CoVid-19. It took 30 mins to even get a waiter to the table to take our drink order. However, they were very understaffed and not as prepared for the diners. Overall our waiter made up for it. Trial and error for a very unprecedented time. We made sure to tip generously regardless of the delay in service
Hello Kamee, We appreciate your business, and apologize for the long wait times on Friday evening. We have quickly made adjustments to our approach during our re-opening process, which includes steps to ensure the success of our amazing servers and bartenders that have returned. We appreciate your patience and hope to see you again soon to enjoy more times on the roof top. -Michael Pitsiladis, Food and Beverage Manager
Management should have stepped up to assist servers on the roof top. The team was clearly not prepared for their first day open.
Hello Jasmine, I do apologize that your time with us was less then satisfactory. We have since made an adjustment to our management team, and have put better plans in place to ensure the success of our servers and guest experience. We would love to have you back with us on our roof top. Please call us if there is any thing more we can help with to enhance your experience with us in the future. -Michael Pitsiladis, Food & Beverage Manager
The restaurant was closed so we had to go elsewhere.
For the price highly disappointed. Bartender acted like she didn't want to be there. Took 20 minutes to get a menu (while seated at the bar) only after asking for it. She gave us one menu, there were two of us.
Food was meh. Atmosphere was probably the best thing overall, but for how much this place costs honestly I could have gotten better food and service at a dive bar.
Birthday dinner for my best friend. Great service and very informative servers!
Have been here before and it was excellent. Not this time. Service was terrible. Our “waiter” should find a more appropriate occupation. The food was not 5 star quality The managers are rude and obviously unaware of what has happened to their restaurant. Use to love this place. After this evening we won’t be back.
Food was ok, nothing was bad but I’ve had similar food at half the price. Small portions and expensive. It is a unique space and all cool kids on social media seem to think the rooftop area with igloos etc is the place to be photographed. So if you want a great post, definitely check it out. If you’re looking for a great food experience, try somewhere else.
Really cool setup and great location next to the Palace and Ball Room. The menu is the most disappointing part with such limited options. Our food was not memorable and a bit on the high price side. The food was presented very well but lacked a bit of flavor. The restaurant does not put salt or pepper on the table and I'm sure if I asked I could of had some. However if you are not going to offer it on the table you should make sure it is seasoned properly. Depending on how often the menu changes will determine if we return or not. Not sure it's worth going back.
Food was good. Took a while to come out but it was quality. Service was great. The other side of the restaurant in the bar was lively but where we were was perfect for us.
We were astonished by the modern decor and eloquent seating. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine and food options. Although we enjoyed the moonlight ambiance, we will definitely be back to enjoy a more sun kissed setting!
As first time diners we expected a bit more from our waiter other than the comment “all items are in print”. Made no effort to tell us about the restaurant, menu or specialty cocktails. He was no more than an order taker. Food was prepared as expected but definitely would have rather gone to a more upscale establishment.
Excellent deal for brunch, especially with a group. Everyone's dietary restrictions were easily addressed and the variety of options was excellent. Will be back!
Excellent food and love the atmosphere
Seated right away. Awesome service and awesome food. Make sure to step outside and take in the view of they city!
Extremely disappointed with food and service. Definitely did not meet the hype or my expectations. Guests for the holidays. Server made excuses for everything that couldn’t happen I.e. drinks, dessert, snow. Accused us of smoking in the igloo. No smokers not to mention she popped her head in every 3 minutes to interrupt our conversation. On a scale of 1 to 10. I’d give it a 1. Don’t do it.
I had an amazing experience at 8UP! The food was wonderful, the service was outstanding and the ambiance was perfect! I would highly recommend this place. The manager (Nick) was "hands-on"; walking though the restaurant checking on the customers which made me feel very good! I had several people with me who were from out of town and they felt the same way! Love it here and I will definitely be back.
Food was very good. Bar area nice. Limited menu with no extras. Bread, etc. Average service in restaurant. Bartenders nice and knowledgeable about bourbons.
A group of 6 of us went there on Saturday to celebrate my 30th birthday, and have dinner. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. The waitress brought everyone else’s food, but mine never came. After about 5 minutes or so, my sister asked the server where my food was. She tells us that they ran out of crab cakes. My boyfriend asked to speak to the manager to complain about no one ever telling us they ran out of them. The manager yelled at my boyfriend, and then stormed off. The manager did offer to give me something else, but at that point it was already so late and we were meeting other friends soon. The food was eventually comped which I was happy about, but the experience was not pleasant.
It was wonderful and the staff was so friendly and prompt!!
Will definitely be going back!!
We first waited in the bar and ordered a drink. I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks with bitters. The drink I was served bore no resemblance to a properly made Manhattan. Once seated, I explained this to our server who took my drink back, tracked down the bar manager and soon a properly made Manhattan was brought to the table. The rest of the evening was good. My ribeye was served rare when I ordered medium, so it was sent back. It came back to the table medium and I enjoyed it.
My picky family from Los Angeles enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The hostess was warm and welcome despite the chaotic way my mom and sister approached her . She was very professional and our waitress was too.
Amazing experience! Fabulous igloos.
We spent Thanksgiving with you and had the most delicious turkey I've ever eaten. Delicious food, attentive service and great atmosphere. Thanks for everything.
Large drink selection, prices were a bit steep. Very energetic atmosphere.
