Friendly staff, good sized room and very clean. Excellent value for money.
Always the same impeccable quality food and service. Visit usually once a month for sunday carvery which, as always, is beautiful! Have visited previously with the kids for an evening meal which was a lovely experience which we will repeat soon. Great work everyone at Aberdunant, we'll definitely be back soon!
Never had a bad meal here. Lovely surroundings and tasty food. The only down was the Diet Coke tastes awful; like sweet water ( probably from a mix); but can’t say it spoilt the meal in anyway- just didn’t order another!
Good quality food but starters and desserts on the expensive side (£10 for a cheese board and £4 for an accompanying sauce IMO is a bit steep.
Service is excellent always friendly and welcoming .Manager Clare runs a tight ship and is always visible. Definitely recommend people to try this hidden restaurant out. Especially the steaks which are locally sourced and delicious.
Food was fabulous, service although busy was good and setting lovely. Would happily recommend to anyone.
A valentines dinner and it was incredible. Try the Chocolate Fondant and Cheesecake. Great food and outstanding service from Millie and Claire.
Dissapointed,as the menu was very limited-choice of Steak.Chicken or Salmon as mains menu.that was it.We asked for new potatoes-they were not available.Neither was the cheeseboard!
We eat regularly at the hotel and have never been disappointed. We both had excellent meals. Lovely atmosphere with roaring fire in the lounge. Staff always very professional and obliging
Came for a short break between Christmas and new year with my fiancé and loved the place, we stayed in no17 one of the lodge/suites by the hall and couldn’t fault it, the food we ate in the evening was equally as good, will be back soon!
Absolutely. We completely enjoyed our weekend at Aberdunant Hall.
The accommodation in the Woodland Escape units is quite amazing and we could not have asked for me.
The staff are all welcoming, friendly and could not do enough for us.
Always great service and lovely food. Living locally, we dine here quite frequently and have never been disappointed. Good varied menu offering steaks, chicken dishes, fish and vegetarian options all reasonably priced with a choice of garnish and side dishes and all well presented.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly with a well appointed bar/lounge area to relax and enjoy a pre-meal or post-meal drink. Very friendly and attentive staff that go that extra mile to make you feel welcome.
Will be back very soon. :-)
Went on a Sunday at 5.00pm and we were the only ones there. Staff were ready to pack up. We had the carvery and it was very tasty. Manageress was pleasant and helpful but could have done with more diners to give the place some atmosphere.
Great place in a fabulous setting, food and service were great. A hidden gem.
service slow to start but overall good. food was excellent
parking very poor
Meal outstanding except for the chips which were overcooked and too crisp
The restaurant at the Aberdunant Hall is top quality the food was amazing and for the price you get a really good sized portion. The service aswell was second to none always coming up to see how the meal is and if they can do anything else for you.
As owners of a holiday Home at Aberdunant we are regular customers, the food, service, ambience and value for money is always excellent. Knowing the staff and being greeted in a friendly manner makes for a lovely evening all round.
Definitely recommend and have already. It's a shame we live so far away! The food was delicious both nights we ate in the restaurant. Service excellent 1st class
Best steaks perfectly cooked. Always service with a smile
Service was great. the staff really helpful and Claire the Manager was always on hand supporting her staff and helping the customers
Beautiful setting in the heart of Snowdonia. The Sunday carvery is the best weve ever had. The meat is good quality and plentiful and a good selection of quality vegetables. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Can get busy so booking probably wise.
Good food let down by very poor service - very disappointing
We come to the Hall regularly. This time we were entertaining friends. As usual it didn’t disappoint. Our meals were really good. I chose off the specials menu for a change and it was delicious. Also as usual, staff really great. Love the rapport we inevitably have with them. Would highly recommend
We have had several excellent meals at Aberdunant Hall in 2019
Birthday celebration meal with family, burger was lovely, steak amazing, dessert cheesecake with honeycomb and chocolate was fantastic I regretted saying to my husband I wanted to share dessert I loved it.
Excellent food, both main course and dessert. Drinks came after our main course (we didn't have a starter). But that wasn't a problem.
One group of diners in the same room were quite vocal which spoiled the ambience for us.
Great restaurant, friendly staff, fantastic food. Will definately return
Family were visiting so we booked for the Cavary, absolutely delicious 😋 definitely made the right choice coming here, never disappoints food always excellent and the staff are very friendly and welcoming
Food was lovely as usual I've not given a 5 star for service only because we had the devils own job getting served at the bar all weekend. I know it was busy as it was bank holiday but on 2 occasions there was 4 young staff all stood around doing nothing. The regular team were brilliant as usual.
This is my 1st staying @ Aberdunant Hall, double Studio/Cabin - I will definitely come back. Not only the staff are so welcoming but also the people there are so friendly.
We had a walk around the area, the people were so helpful and kind. You won't feel that you're the outsiders at all.
And don't forget to go on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways - it's only 12 minutes by car from the Aberdunant Hall.
Thank you so much for all the staff of the Aberdunant Hall - both my daughter and I are very grateful.
Gloria & Angel :-)
Woodland Retreat mini suite was real luxury, mood lighting and a beautiful spacious bathroom, even low lighting from the base of the bed, on a sensor when you need to use the bathroom in the dead of nightI Really could not fault the room it was very comfortable and well appointed. We had a private, slate stone flagged terrace which would be great if it were not raining. The food was excellent ( steak on a lava stone) and staff were very courteous and helpful and all food (including breakfast) was of good quality and hot. The only negative was that we were a little close to the noisy children’s play ground but it was a very busy weekend. Not enough to spoil our stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.
Good food but London prices. Nice location and decor and choice is good.
Food was lovely, and the hotel was great, the service at the bar was not great, I waited for around 5 mins then just when I thought I was being served someone else who had just turned up to the bar was served !!
Waited 30 mins to get a drink and an hour for our food after order was taken.
Snobby atmosphere service was slow sat in a cold marquee area rather than in the actual restaurant carvery was below par with inedable meat and no gluten free Yorkshire puddings
Fell over on the way back to my table with food due to slippy slope area badly bruising and twisting my ankle
Amazing food. We ate there Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch time. Every meal was fantastic
We called about a week previously and just had a coffee, it was the middle of the afternoon but there was no food on the go as the kitchen staff where having their siesta. We liked the look of the place so decided to book for lunch. I had the “Jerk Chicken” which I didn’t think was as tasty as is should have been. My partner had the haddock his verdict was that it was very good. Generous portions. The website stated that the dress code was “Business Smart” so we dressed accordingly. Unfortunately no one else did, also there were people walking through the restaurant dressed for the beach and men in working clothes carrying what looked like turps etc, I assume members of staff. We will try Aberdunant Hall again probably for a Sunday lunch once the school holidays are over. Friendly staff and the Hall is in a stunning location.
Had the Sunday car very at 5:30 meal was cold meat was tough Yorkshire pudding empty gravy tasteless
Booked this as our usual restaurant of choice was fully booked. Very very impressed indeed, prompt efficient service but more importantly delicious food. Very reasonably priced too, even the drinks which is a rarity these days. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area.
Exellent food, service was great. We eat here every time we come to north wales and it’s always fantastic.
