In an unassuming building among the red-brick residential houses on Leeds’ Ashley Road is some of the Midland’s finest Ethiopian food. Called Abyssinia, named after the ancient East African Kingdom, this laid-back restaurant serves up a wide variety of Ethiopian specialties at affordable prices. Huge portions and amazing flavours make this restaurant’s cuisine stand out, and the friendly staff makes guests feel just like family. Healthy and filling, the cuisine at Abyssinia in Harehills is out of the ordinary, in the best possible way.

This place doesn't look much from outside but from inside it was brilliant! Cosy and warm with Ethiopian vibes all throughout particularly the music which I loved.
I was drawn to vegetarian meal and wanted to try it out I was not disappointed. It is completely different to anything I have tasted n the bread is lovely but be warned it isn't the conventional bread one thinks off.
Overall my husband and I throughly enjoyed this place the waitress was very friendly and the coffee ceremony was pretty cool too!!!
