WOW - they are amazingly creative - And the Sommelier is OUTSTANDING - let him do the pairing !!
Second time eating there and it was as expected - EXCEPTIONAL
GREAT FOOD BUT AT OVER £100 PER HEAD FOR TWO COURSES EXCLUDING DRINKS IS TOO EXPENSIVE. ...EVEN FOR LONDON.
Fabulous inventive menu with a wonderful wine list to match. Faultless service from delightful staff. A lovely experience
Now a favourite. Every time I go there I am just impressed. Consistency is clearly something that they already have and attention to detail. Go Adam! Best British chef
An amazing experience. We’re Mexicans and the help us to feel in home. Thank you to all the staff.
Fabulous in every way!
An ambitious restaurant infused with some outstanding staff. The ones who didn't take themselves too seriously made the evening more enjoyable. My wife loved her food (including "Mother" to start) but I was slightly disappointed with homemade linguine followed by rabbit. Nothing was inexpensive but found an excellent Chilean Viognier to soften the blow. Probably didn't do quite enough to escape being a 'hotel restaurant'.
We absolutely love this restaurant.
Perfect in every way.
The pre dining drinks in the bar were fantastic.
Fabulous restaurant and superb kitchen which is open to customers viewing.
As a chef would have loved to have cooked the kitchen looks so professional yet beautifully designed.
The menu was to die for.
You simply must experience this restaurant.
I’ll be back in a couple of months as I’m staying in the Cadogan Hotel.
Service and food is excellent. Have the tasting menu plus wine pairing. The cocktails are also really worth the experience.
Food was in general good, as was the wine list. For this class of restaurant the service needs to be better and more knowledgeable in particular about the menu. Also the choices are rather limited. The ambiance is bistro but the prices are high end restaurant- doesn’t fit
Fantastic food and service. Very helpful and obliging staff. I highly recommend giving Adam Handling a go.
Great food, wonderful friendly service.
We went for lunch with friends after the Chelsea Flower show. We have followed Adams cooking since the Caxton Grill and it was fantastic to go to his latest venture. The dining room is light and airy the service is very friendly and the food is sensational. We did the wine pairing with the tasting menu which was excellent. The chefs adapted it for our friend with allergies and he was hugely impressed with the substitutes. All in all, a wonderful leisurely lunch and I wish Adam and the team every success!
Very good food, good and friendly service : our table was one of the two overlooking the kitchen... great to watch them creating the dishes.
For me the dining rooms are a tad to „Spartan“
Indifferent service by the majority of staff. No attention to detail, after good first courses of veal sweetbreads and tartare of wagu beef ponzu the two main courses of halibut the size of a thumb were presented in a broth with miniscule vegetables in the base of the bowl plus the broth , the hollandaise based sauce with caviar was presented to my guest and I not offered any sauce or caviar etc as I had informed the management I have an intolerant of milk and cream but was fine with butter and eggs. On request of a sauce a tomato vierge was produced , that did nothing to enhance the dish and still no caviar . No sides were offered.
After a gin and tonic (£21) and a glass of white wine (a reasonable NZ sauvignon blanc) it was hard to order two addition glasses of the Sauvignon of which we never saw the bottle, once they were finished the glasses were whisked away with out request and no chance of any additional wine.
At this we both gave up the will to live, declining desserts as again I was informed as I had the tolerance there would onedctejly be one option, not on the menu available for me.
We concluded the evening with peppermint tea, four amazing chocolate truffles were produced , their differences explained in length to my guest , I was instructed not to eat them, and to eat the jellies instead.
I only have a mild dairy intolerance but was made to feel as if I had a contagious disease or was a naughty school child.
Adam Handling’s food in the past at his other restaurants has been fantastic, this was a poor pastiche of his capable culinary magnificence. He was totally let down by the arrogance of the staff.
We settled our account and thought it was such a waste to have what should be an exception restaurant in Chelsea to be such a poor experience. We both have homes within close proximity of the Belmont Cadogan and dine out frequently. Would either of us return , sadly no thank you.
This place is not only beautiful but extraordinary. Everything about it with a big emphasis on the food. So happy Handling is finally in Chelsea and I’m sure a Michelin star will be landing there soon. Playful yet straight forward food with the best local and seasonal ingredients you can possibly have.
Food is solid. Very fresh seafood, nice steak. Dessert was a bit mediocre.
The decor is tasteful and service attentive. I don’t see why there were so many negative reviews, probably due to new opening.
Overall worth a visit!
Went for lunch. Food fabulous.
A gastronomic experience. Excellent cuisine with creative (and delicious) combination of ingredients, charming and knowledgeable service, and gorgeous setting. A top addition to Chelsea’s restaurant scene.
They offer a choice of sitting at a table for a relaxed meal, or on bar stools overlooking the kitchen if you enjoy watching the chefs in action.
I am a long-standing Adam Handling fan and was very much looking forward to trying out his latest restaurant. I loved the setting - quiet, calm colours, with tables far enough away from each other to allow private conversation. The food was excellent (as always) - we had the tasting menu (which at £95 is more expensive than his other locations), although I felt that both the fish and beef were slightly overcooked. My other reflection, having eaten at all his restaurants, is that a bit more variety wouldn't go amiss. Still, I enjoyed it a LOT, and would be confident to recommend it to friends who know their food!
Service and food was wonderful
We loved it! From the bar to the restaurant. We were disappointed that the lamb wellington was not available but the linguine made up for it 👍🏼
Delicious food and “snacks” to go with drinks (eg cheesy truffle doughnuts)! The truffle linguini starter is delicious as is the beef. Desserts are unusual and thankfully not overwhelmingly sweet. Attentive service too. The bar is beautiful too.
My only criticism is the lighting and chairs/table. It is far too bright for a dinner sitting. Also the seats feel like an office common room. I think this style/lighting is targeted at diners over the age of 50. Would highly recommend dimmed lighting and more comfortable/relaxed chairs.
Food was good but Having ordered from the ala carte menu, It would have been nice to be served an amuse bouche, just for completeness. The pre-dessert and chocolates with the tea were good though. Also, service has room for improvement. The waiter accidentally swiped his finger on my butter and did not offer to change it.
Service delightful without exception, including in the neighbouring bar. Everyone very nice, though champagne and menus could have come 2 minutes sooner if I were being fussy. Palate cleanser deserves a special mention as it avoided the sharpness or excess sweetness one often gets but was gentle and charming in its own right. Cod main course- flaky and perfectly done, moist. Lobster starter a picture and my wife liked it very much. Puddings also sophisticated in terms of avoiding excess but with plenty of flavour and cleanse to them. Wine list decent but could add some more choices in Burgundy and Bordeaux; wines from the USA featured well and we were very happy with our's from Oregon. The room is very pleasant, chairs very comfortable. A table of 6 men arrived half way through our dinner, at the other side of the room, which could have been loud but just avoided it, something for the restaurant to consider whether they allow that size of table. Managed to avoid "restaurant in a hotel" atmosphere; we enjoyed- £350 for 2 including £115 for one bottle of red; 2 glasses of champage at £20 each on top.
Adam Handling moves up the fine dining scale with elegant ease. Great evening.
Loved it. Only disappointment was the main course, which I gave feedback to the GM on. I had the Mac n Cheese which was hugely disappointing.
Everything else was superb and delicious flavours.
The service was excellent and the food delicious. What my wife and I found disappointing is the light in the dinning room. The light was too low. We were told that it was kept low for ambiance but I would prefer to see my food. Thank you.
We had the best dinner on Friday. Such a surprising and unique food and top notch service. Well done!!
Excellent service by chef Steven Kerr
We went to celebrate my birthday and expected that it would be expensive. It was-very e pensive but the food was delicious although the portions were on the small side. One particular waiter was very attentive and pleasant so that was a bonus. We were sitting near a very cold window or the cold might have been because of the air conditioning. The waiter kindly offered to move us but the other tables on offer were not to our liking so we stayed where we were. I liked the decor but there are nicer dining rooms in London and I don’t know if I would return.
Great ambience and wonderful staff. The food was superb. Love the bar and amazing kitchen. Will be back. Great lunch- will try the evening next.
Great ambiance - we started with a cocktail in the bar - excellent, and then moved to the dining room. The food was excellent as was the service. Quite an expensive wine menu, but we found one we know and like at a reasonable (restaurant) price. The service throughout the evening was exceptional.
I loved our time at Adam Handling Chelsea, from the little complimentary cocktail in the bar to the delicious petite fours it was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service faultless, and the restaurant very beautiful. It was quiet and refined and felt very vert special. Our waiter remembered my husband was vegetarian and we got offered extra bread, had a small complimentary dessert and petite fours. I loved the fact they gave you water on arrival and for me it’s all the little extra touches and service on top of totally delicious food that sets a “good meal” apart from a wonderful experience. Adam Handling Chelsea was a wonderful experience and we will be back
The main course - white fish turbout was amazing but at £40 was way too overpriced. Burrata was delicious, but didn’t go well with grilled Onions one and curry like paste. Donuts were nice but too small. Crab tarts were tiny and greasy. Didn’t like a single desert went with poached rubab and it wasn’t nice. Zero ambience and won’t come back shame as I liked to think it was great new restaraunt to go too.
Handling error. Avoid.
Good food pity about the service empty restaurant no atmosphere lots and lots of training required felt sad for the kitchen staff
We arrived at the hotel and was taken to the restaurant greeting desk . Except nobody was there to greet us . The guy told us to just wait here ! We asked rather than just stand there in a bar full of people could we grab a table to get a drink ? He replied there are no tables available . I then spotted two empty chairs at the bar so we quickly sat there .
Eventually a young lady escorted us to the far room in the restaurant . Which although beautifully decorated had no ambience and felt a little disjointed from the main restaurant . We found The lighting in the room was very bright too .
My husband ordered a cocktail and I went for a G&T . When I asked the waitress what gin selection they had she didn’t know . So I reeled off a few I like and we eventually came to one she recognised . Half way through my drink I noticed the glass had a chip out of the rim . I showed the waitress and her reply was “ oh i didn’t notice that “
And that was that !
No replacement and it wasn’t taken off the bill 🙁😠
The food was delicious , so the kitchen has obviously got their act together 👏 both my husband and I enjoyed every mouthful .... well done guys !!!
As the room we were in was emptying with guests , we noticed that the tables were not being cleared . There were people walking about in suits from one room to another but no one was being very productive .
Let’s hope the staff get their act together soon as Adam Handling is obviously a very talented person and deserves a great shot at success !
