Run by Abdel and Frances Boukraa – he hailing from Djerba, Tunisia, she English born and bred – Adam’s Café is a thriving family affair which has grown over the years to become one of Shepherds Bush’s most popular restaurants. A café by day and a restaurant serving North African cuisine by night, Adam’s Café is a bustling local hub, informal and authentic, decorated in mosaics and cheerful colours. It may serve the biggest and best breakfast on Askew Road but this is no greasy spoon. Visit in the evening and find yourself greeted by the spice infused aromas of Tunisia and Morocco. The menu consists simply of couscous dishes alongside grills and tagines, each based precisely on Abdel’s experience of home cooking. You really won’t find a more authentic taste of North Africa in the capital.

Thoroughly enjoyed the seabass, nice atmosphere and being able to take your own wine is great. Almond tart and the chocolate mousse both very good.

This was indeed the best meal I have had in years. The food was super delicious the service impeccable, on the whole it was a fantastic evening. I would like to thank Adam and his wonderful partner for putting up with our heated discussion and noise.

Thank you for everything.
Highly recommended and excellent value for money. I will certainly come here again.

Morphing into an evening restaurant from daytime cafe sets certain expectations. Fortunately, these were ill founded and Adam's Cafe feels and works like any other smaller neighbourhood restaurant. The menu is extensive and offers a great choice from tangines through to steaks.

All our food was tasty and served promptly. I particularly enjoyed the initial nibbles and orange dessert. My choice of bouillabaisse was perhaps over-optimistic for such a small establishment, but it was better than many I've had in London.

The prices represent good value and £5 corkage seemed the better option given the availability of so many off licences within 100m.

Overall, a very pleasant experience with welcoming owners who clearly care about their business and customers.

Wonderful Tunisian and Moroccan food, exquisite in taste and beautifully served. We had unforgettable dishes such as chicken pastilla, brik au thon with tuna and potato encasing a soft molten egg and perched on a lemon which one can squeeze onto the brik, couscous Royale and a delicious lamb and prune tagine. The 2-dish Menu Gourmet is excellent value.

Gorgeous Mediterranean food, genuinely spoiled for choice. A variety of their starters and mains were ordered and each one was thoroughly enjoyed.
Calling it a cafe doesn't do it justice, a lovely evening meal on a special occasion can be had here (and would be reccomended!).
Service was wonderful and friendly too.

Adams is perhaps the best value for money place in London. The food is a medley of Mediterranean delights and the prices (and perhaps the menus) feel like they've been the same for the past 10 years. The corkage is excellent value and there is the fab Askew Wines across the road, but the service is what sets this place apart.

You really feel the people that serve you care about that place, must have been the owners. They can't do enough for you, offer great amounts of delectable freebies, which is outstanding for the price your paying any way, and the food is interesting and different and just delicious.

The decor is a tad dated and erring on the side of tacky, so with the prices you won't wow anyone with this place for a special occasion. But for everyday amazing value. One does wonder of you charged a little more and improved the setting of you might rate it much higher, as the food is great, but then I think it'd loose its charm!

A well-established, modest Moroccan-Tunisian neighborhood restaurant serving delicious food at very reasonable prices. My marmite du pecheur (bouillabaisse) had the requisite variety of fish and shellfish, a tasty broth, and zesty rouille. A dry Moroccan rose perfectly complemented the meal. Very friendly owners greet, take orders, and serve, in addition to waiters.

Visited Adams recently . Food was excellent. Only complaint was lack of ambience. We made repeated attempts to talk to owners who were serving us. Met with curt replies. Even though the restaurant was very quiet the owners made no attempt to engage in conversation which was a shame. My husband worked in Acton many years ago and would have liked a bit of banter. For that reason I will not be returning. If restaurant was busy we would understand but they just stood there staring out the window . At times we felt uncomfortable.

Thsnk you

I go to Adam's cafe fairly often and have never been disappointed. The service is always excellent and friendly and the food is superb. Their tagines are to die for and it is hard to make up ones's mind about any of the starters as they are all delicious. The portions are generous and the wine list is varied and interesting. Long have they been going and long may they continue.

We were looking for somewhere close to Paddington that was not extortionate when my wife spotted Adams Cafe and we booked up on a whim.
Small & intimate with a good ambiance just walking in the door. The staff speaking French to each other just tells you what to expect; good service with plenty of time to sit and talk.
The food was excellent and arrived hot. I had a calamari starter followed by lamb stew and my wife and daughter the king prawns; all were delicious.
Would I visit again? You bet I will.

I have friends who are alternative. So we wanted a restaurant that wasn't part of a chain. Whilst the restaurant is out of the way, we weren't disappointed. Lovely wine, dishes made from scratch. Great value. Try it. You might just love it like we did.

Food was nicely served, delicious and very fresh, but service was rather slow. We would have preferred to have some Middle Eastern bread rather than slices of French loaf. I will definitely go again to try more things on the menu. Nice ambience and good value.

Great authentic Tunisian meal in a very relaxed and romantic candle light atmosphere. The fish soup as a starter was packed full of sea flavour. The tagines were very succulent. And the almond tart to finish off with was a real treat for the senses. Attentive and personal service, will be back!

A great local restaurant serving delicious Moroccan food by night and a cafe during day (yet to try in the day). Unpretentious, friendly and informal vibe. Straight forward menu and everything we have tried is really tasty. Bread, pickled veg and harrissa is included at the start - keep to go with your mains. We did a combination of starters (3 in total) and a lamb stew and it was more than enough. Try the home made lamb sausages and the tuna Brik. We are lucky to have this place 2 mins walk from our house.
