Nice tea with lots of extra details and some opportunity to customise. Homemade jam in particular was very good. Staff were lovely , However everything took ages - I think in part because they were waiting for us to finish each last mouthful (which we couldn’t). Requests for a new pot of tea had to be repeated as did a request for a box to take home uneaten cakes - for which I had to sign a statement that the cakes were in perfect condition when I left which is a bit odd and not something I have ever encountered elsewhere. Hot chocolate made with coconut milk ( the only option) was unusual but not in a good way unless you like Bountys
First class, luxurious experience.
Amazing sweets combined with great selection of teas and faultless service.
I've tried many afternoon teas in London, but this was the best ever.
Well done Adam.
This place existed me massively. It comes from the Adam Handling Group of restaurants. My favourite being Frog by Adam Handling in Covent Garden. I expected a lot.
did it deliver...
Yes it did! but to a very different level. Had no idea that afternoon tea would excite me, or make me so stuffed as this one did.
The room was cool, the staff where great, you could tell it was a new opening as the team didn't quite sing, but they really gave it there all.
Bravo chef and all the team. Another sucessfull place to your name.
Amazing, full of the little touches that makes every Adam does so unique. Delicious food.
I like my afternoon tea. I like Adam Handling. I don't understand how put together, it can go so wrong. The food is very good. Not innovative or exciting, but solidly good food worth foregoing your lunch for. But that and Adam's mum's tea cosies is where the plaudits stop. There were dust bunnies all over the floor along with bits of food. We asked for sparkling wine (that the wait staff called champagne) and one glass was served about an inch less than the other. Serving bowls were dirty enough that we sent them back. We were served a wrong tea, two times. If it had not been for my extremely pleasing company, I would have had words with someone. At the price tag involved, I won't be bothering to going back.
